Use Encrypted Or Compiled/embedded Access DB In Programs?

I'm trying to write a Windows Application with VB 2008 that needs to use some simple Access DB (via OleDB connections). I did it and it works fine, but what I want to do is to have the databases not accessible to the users... I want the databases to travel togheter with the application, or to be embedded, encapsulated in it, but don't want that the user can open and read the .mdb files... I suppose that the way to do what I need is to set the "Build Action" property of the mdb files in the VB project to "Compile" or to "Embedded Resources" (currently it is set to "Content"), but when I try to do it, the application cannot finde the mdb file and cannot connect the database... obviously...I suppose I need to modify the connection strings, but I don't know how to do it!

I have an pdf file, encrypted with a certificate. I want to access to it in order to create a decrypted copy.I have the certificate stored at personal windows certificate store. Is it possible to use this one? How can I access with the pdfReader object?

I am attempting to find some code to use in VB.NET to decrypt a string that has been encrypted using the Java crypto libary.All of the code I have found so far uses an Initialisation Vector and Key to decrypt but the string has been encrypted using the Key only. (Using an Initialisation Vector is apperently an optional step in Java).Does anyone know of code that I can use (preferably in VB.NET but i could convert C#) to decrypt AES 128 Bit encoded string without an Initialisation Vector?

I have both Visual Basic 2005 and recently downloaded Visual Web Developer 2008 (Express Edition). In VB 2005 I cannot work on my website without reveiling my password (no encryption). This is also true with the Web Debeloper 2008 and it seems it will only work on sites Created with FrontPage. So my question is what do I need to upgrade to in order to work on my site without reveiling my password (encrypted access) or working in FrontPage.

I recently made a small exe program that connects to an Access database.Now it runs fine on most computers, but the one it HAS to run good on has some pretty harsh restrictions set on it's network.The problem is an OLEdb connection is refused because the file is not trusted on the Network, and I don't know how to give it the access it needs.I've tried running an install with it, and that will give it access, but only on the local computer and not on the network drives.I've tried placing the database in the network drive and accessing it with the install there, but there is a problem in that the local drives are wiped at logout.I've tried giving it trust access through Administrator Tools, but it always throws an error when I try it.

I've a requirement to have PreCompiled webpages and Non-PreCompiled webpages under same application. For example below is my structure:
/Bin
/Test1 (PreCompiled)
/Test2 (NonPreCompiled)
/Test3 (PreCompiled)
I would like these to have their separate "Bin" folders too if possible at all (I tried using "Probing" but I guess that's not allowed for web apps and defaults to "Bin" folder). If not that then definitely some ability for these to work together under one app/virtual directory because I'm not allowed to create another at any cost :(

I'm working with Visual Studio 2008 and trying to copy datas from the clipboard to the notepad. Copying datas is OK, but Sendkeys func. is only works with foreground programs. However I'm trying to paste these datas to the notepad that is working on background. How can I solve this problem?

I am sure this can be done, as Visual Studio is basically built this way. What I want to do is simply make a class that my other workmates can use. But rather than have it in a code form, I want to build it (partially), and then my workmate can add it into their programs (sort of, like the add reference for the .NET stuff).

I started with VB 6.0 back when i was 14, I was mostly into coding programs that interacted with other programs. Recently I installed VB.net 2005 pro i got from school, and i grabbed few source codes that teach show interaction, I feel so dumb, i dont remember anything lol. When you've finished a program and you're trying to distribute it to the mass public. How is the best way to go about doing this? What sites would you post your program on and getting the word out that there is a new program on the block and it does xyz. This is directed to freeware so there wouldn't be any advertising.

I want to move my programs and the database to another computer and hard-disks. It looks to me as though I nearly have to re-create the controls and rewrite some of the code to make it so the programs still work after the move. At least with ODBC all I would change was the DSN definitions external to the programs. Is there an easy way to move or rename a database without loads of work?

i am trying to decrypt a file that was encrypted with Des. However not all of the file is encrypted just a few lines are. Here is an example of the file im trying to decrypt:
Random text
Encrypted Text
MD5 Hash
Encryption Key(Only there for tests)
Number of encrypted lines
The idea is to read the last three lines into variables and use them to decrypt the text. At the moment i use the number of lines - (the number of encrypted lines + 3) to find where the encrypted text starts. Then i was trying to copy the encrypted text to a temp file so i could run the code bellow on it, however i am getting an encoding error apparently i need to be using base64 or something. So my question is can anybody explain to me or show me how i can pull the encrypted text out of the file so that i can use the code bellow on it.
