The problem now is when I saved a record into sql server (EG Technical Manager) and try to view back the saved data, it always show the first item (Director) in combobox. But, my sql server has saved is "Technical Manager" for that saved record.

I am having a hard time figuring this out. It's about ExecuteNonQuery() method and sql server database. I done several testing and still getting the desired result which is data captured from application window and saved into sql server database table.
Some results i gotten from my testing:Query - Senario 1:From application window, data was captured into variable memory but didnt save into database and end up with blank database. (Tested many rounds still end up in this senario)Senario 2:Used the command console in the data explorer frame, with the insert query along with required value, an entry was made. (Test a couple of rounds and i know it worked)

View 5 RepliesI'm trying to create a Library System in VB 2010 which is connected to a 2007 MS Access Database manually. I was successful to create a "Search" button where it displays content from the database based on the user's entries on several text boxes.
The result is shown on a Data Grid which I set to allow Editing on it. My problem now is I can't find a way to create an "Edit" button. My idea is basically allow the user to search, let the result be shown on the data grid, edit the data grid, and click the Edit button to save the updated records back to the database.
My question is it possible to create such button? Here is the code that I use to connect to the data base for the Search button.

I am trying to update my database based on the selected values in two comboboxes.
Combobox1 = Manufacturers
Combobox2 = Orderlists
In the App the user selects a manufacturer and then an orderlist and then presses Ok button which updates the default orderlist for the manufacturer.I am having problems on buttonClick event which updates the data, just unsure of method, if somebody could even point me towards a good tutorial it would be great as I have searched high and low for one.

i have datagridview populated with stock code, name and description.And i have docked my datagridview to the bottom. so whenever the form is resized, the bottom section will be occupied completely with the datagridview.But i want to display one extra empty column and multiple empty rows to completely fill in the datagridview.The extra empty column width will be adjusted to the right end side of datagridview.And the no of empty rows will be generated based on how many is required to fill up to the bottomSo that i can create datagridview with full column and row even though some columns or rows are empty.

my problem is when I enter a new record in the grid that belongs to the master table and enter a detail to that data the data of the new master record is saved but not it's detalis but when I enter new details for old master record the save is done well
