View 3 RepliesI am trying to create a username database for my program where people create a username when they first open the program and it saves it and uploads their username to an FTP text file.The problem I am having is that I want it to do this and then display ALL users that have created a username on my program and used it in a list on a textbox. I was going to have it do this by having it add all usernames to a text file on my FTP and then have it download the text file of all the users created from the FTP and load it into the textbox on the Form that displays them all.

I'm using Web Developer 2010, ASP.NET with the VB.NET programming language and a MS-Access database (.mdb).What I want to do is get all the data from a table called User (i.e. all the columns) where Username = ____, and then put the values in from the fields into text boxes so they can be edited. This is to make a 'My Account' page so that a user viewing the website can change his address, password etc.

In the Bolded line, it is reading only one username but i need to read all the columns. Here I have written key up event in the text box of username, but here it is loading only one username. I am using visual basic 2008 and i am writing the program in disconnected architecture in vb.net.
The database is a different file.

Getting some errors with a loop. It's a log-in app that has username, passwords & account type stored in a SqlCe database. I would like it to sync with a larger database for updates that has not been made so i left it out but I have started to make a loop that would connect it to the larger DB and if connection failed would try a set number of times before stopping the program. I'm coding this project with Visual Studio 08 pro

I have a chat server / client system running, but I want users to authenticate with my vBulletin forum database.I don't want the client to do it, because it is possible to fake the 'successful login' and connect with a fake username. I want to send the username and password details to the server, and make the server check it with the local vBulletin MySQL database for the username and password.Is there a way to do this? To my knowledge vBulletin has a username and a password entries in the database which is salted, and the salt varies from user to user.

Is there any way to detect if the DNS server is not responding for sure. That is because if I ping the server while my torrent downloads are in progress, I get a "Request timed out".
