Html - VbNewLine In A Div?

test1
test2
inside a <div>... right now all I have is a simple
Return "test1" & vbNewLine & "test2"
but this code returns the words on a single line albeit with a space (like test1 test2).
How do I do this? I've tried changing the div into a span, that doesn't seem to work either.
VB2010 - Using VbNewline In RTF?
Mar 15, 2012I am creating an RTF file programatically so that user input can be formatted and I can control the font.There's two problems:
1. vbNewLine doesn't seem to work. I've also tried vbCrLf and that doesn't work either. I just want to introduce another blank line and not sure why it's not working.
2. Is there a way to use tab print positions to format things so they're not all just aligned left, center or right? (like tab(20); something etc..)

Automatic Vbnewline In Textbox?
Nov 1, 2009Ok so i have made a complete food ordering system for the place i work. It works fine, i can add the ordered things and print them on a thermo printer located in the kitchen.Everyone at my work is really pleased with the solution but there is just one problem left.
The thermo printer is a receipt printer which can print 32 characters on each line and this is more than enough for all the food and beverages but i have a free textfield where waiters can enter a text of their own if the order form cannot cover.
This field does automatic LFCR in the box but this is apparantly only in the box because if is type something longer than 32 characters it wraps nicely in the textbox but is sent as one long string when printing.
Is it possible to have a textbox perform automatic "vbNewLine" every 32 characters it encounters. I know that this might cut words in half and if this can also be avoided then fine but if not i would rather have words cut in the wrong places than text completely missing.

Dec 16, 2009when you have a textbox and you save the contents to a file : My.Computer.FileSystem.WriteAllText(SaveFileDialog1.FileName, TextBox1.Text, False, System.Text.Encoding.ASCII) and you open the file in notepad, you will see instead of multiple lines one long line and where the vbNewLine should be, a small square symbol.
the simple reason is: even if you write a vbNewLine or vbCrLf to your textbox, it will be reduced to vbLf so when writing the textbox.text to a textfile it only writes the vbLf where you would like to have a vbCrLf
so all you have to do is replace the vbLf with vbNewLine :
My.Computer.FileSystem.WriteAllText(SaveFileDialog1.FileName, Replace(TextBox1.Text, vbLf, vbNewLine), False, System.Text.Encoding.ASCII)

VS 2008 Cannot Seem To Get A Working Filter In Working Order
Jun 18, 2009It appears that my favorite thing in the world is tackling projects that are beyond my current knowledge and abilities. I have a little project that I am working on which is a simple image viewer stocked with (upon completion) your standard Load..., Next/Previous, Zoom In/Out, Actual Size, and Full Screen capabilities. However, I am running into a few snags:
(1) I've been able to get my "Load..." button to display a file dialog box, but I cannot seem to get a working filter (with which only image file types are allowed to be selected) in working order.
(2) I have a PictureBox object (entitled PictureBox1) that displays the image selected via the file dialog box, but it loads images in their full size (1:1/100% zoomed) state without scrollbars, etc. to allow me to navigate the loaded image. I would like to have it load the image, initially, to fit within the dimensions of PictureBox1 and from there be able to zoom in/out via my "Zoom In/Out" and "Actual Size" buttons and be able to scroll if the zoom level is beyond the dimensions of PictureBox1.
(3) It dawned on me that I haven't the faintest idea how to get my "Next/Previous" buttons to allow the user (me) to navigate, in succession, the images contained in the folder in which the currently loaded image is stored. [code]

GDI Changes - Working With Vb.NET And GDI+
Mar 28, 2009I am moving over to vb.NET and am experiencing the learning curve. Am learning quickly, but I do have a question for anyone who can respond. vb6 could be made to run much faster by going after the GDI API directly, rather than going through vb6's standard wrapped functions like Line(), and Circle(). Now that I am working with vb.NET and GDI+, as far as I can tell there is no wrapper anymore and you hit GDI+ directly "right out of the box". Is this true? It looks like trying to phenagle the old vb6 API code can't work because .NET does not use GDI anymore...it uses GDI+ via the System.Drawing namespace.

Which is working fine when i debug from project itself but when i run after building .exe it is not getting any reply back.
After some try and error i found that RTS(Request to Send) is the reason behind this problem.

Oct 8, 2010I'm getting an ArgumentOutOfRange error when using substring function in .NET. I'm new to .NET so probably doing something wrong. I have a txtField, which is a text field component in GUI. I'm using Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express

If txt.Field contains only numberic values it works ok, but as soon as the text field contains characters it breaks.
Activex Com .dll Not Working Under Ie8
Nov 19, 2009I have a COM dll that has been developed under vb.net. The Control works just fine in IE 6 and IE 7, but when IE 8 tries to load the control, the browser crashes. I look at the event viewer and I get an error 1000 about iexplorer.exe and mshtml.dll. Do I have to build this com dll with IE 8 on my development machine? How can I track down what is wrong with the Control?

Aug 19, 2011I have developed an application is VS2010 ( VB app using .NET4 ) ... the application runs fine under Windows 7 and on (3) XP machines we have here. Had one user looking for support on an XP machine ... when he started the app nothing happened. No errors or anything, just nothing happened. Had him install the latest .NET4 framework and everything was fine.
Just had another support issue ... user with the same complaint ... had him install latest .NET4 ... but this time did not fix the issue ... still nothing happens when he clicks to start the app ... no errors ... just nothing happens.
I can't check this because it runs on all our XP machines .... Is the only criteria that .NET4 be installed? I created an install that includes only the EXE from the BINRELEASE folder ... nothing else. Do I need anything else. Strange that it works on all our XP machines.
App Not Working On Vista/7?

on windows 7 and vista the button simply dosent do anything, ive tried elevating to admin etc..
Is it possibly due to how it creates/drops resources?

Asp.net - CustomValidator Not Working?
May 28, 2011I have a CustomValidator that checks if text entered in textboxes matches certain fields in a database. This was all working great before, but I have modified my page quite a bit since then and it is no longer working. I didn't think I changed anything that would affect this, but apparently I did. All my other validators (required field validators) are working correctly, but my CustomValidator isn't responding.So anyway, here is my code:

Everything is working up until CustomValidator1.SetFocusOnError = True and args.IsValid = False. I have tested the If statement and it's working correctly, it returns true and anything else I put inside of it executes.
