Way to space out the source code of a web page, having each tag on one line, without having to search for each tag ending and then making a new line after.
My code for obtaining the source code is:

Also if anyone knows a way to colour the tags.

I am trying to extract everything between the body part as I am building a forum crawler
and since all the user posts are between the <body></body> I have chosen to experiment
with Regex. So far I have coded the following but sort of stuck on how to output the result say in a textbox? Also I am not sure if the body part of the regex is correct.
Dim URL As String = Textbox1.Text
Dim request As System.Net.HttpWebRequest = System.Net.HttpWebRequest.Create("URL")
Dim response As System.Net.HttpWebResponse = request.GetResponse
Dim streamReader As System.IO.StreamReader = New System.IO.StreamReader(response.GetResponseStream())

Under Options/HTML Designer/General There is the option of starting pages in either Source View or Design view. I'm now doing Windows Forms and when I open a vb page it is usually to do something to the code. I would like the page tp open in Source View but cant find a similar option for Windows Form Designer.

I am developing a program that gets the html source code of a certain webpages in a website.
I already developed one program that does so here's the code
Dim request As System.Net.HttpWebRequest = System.Net.HttpWebRequest.Create(TextBox2.Text)
Dim response As System.Net.HttpWebResponse = request.GetResponse()
[Code]....
Recently, I found out that I could do the same using Sockets. This time I want to parse HTML of those web pages SIMULTANEOUSLY. I tried parsing simultaneously on my previous program using multithreading but my bandwidth keeps decreasing as threads increase so, to make my questions short,
How can I parse many web pages' source SIMULTANEOUSLY without decreasing my Bandwidth? Does using Sockets in multi threading decrease Bandwidth? (If anyone tried)

I'm writing a program in VB.net that gets the source code of a web page with a video on it. it then uses regular expressions to isolate the download link of that video. then it uses "httpwebrequest" and "httpwebresponse" to download the video. my problem arises when certain sites have a page where you have to click continue in order to get to the video page. [URL].. called "The.Matrix.Reloaded.2003.mp4" so i tell my program to get the source code for the url [URL]..but it cant find the video's download link because it's searching for the file in the "continue" page's source code. you can see what i am saying by going to that website above and viewing the source code by right clicking on it. and then click continue and do the same when the video appears and you'll notice that the file is only there in the second one.
So my question is how can i get the source code for the page that the video is playing on and not the page where i have to click continue?

i have a button that grabs a text file depending on what the user types in a text box.And then it loads the text file and makes an HTML report on an external browser. Thats all good.But i want another button under that button that does exatly the same thing but it displays the html in a form using Web Browser for vb.net. 2008 version by the way. so i have two buttons, depending on what the user pushes. same html is produced, but one is in external browser while the other is in form.Here is code i used for first button
Private Sub Button1_Click_1(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim sFilename As String
sFilename = ("E:\RMIT WORK\Testing\" & txtOfficeID.Text & ".txt")
If Not File.Exists(sFilename) Then

This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td>
<input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden">
<img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work">
</td>
[Code]...
Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?

I am trying save a value from an input tag in some HTML source code. The tag looks like so:
<input name="user_status" value="3" />
I have the page source in a variable (pageSourceCode), and need to work out some regex to get the value (3 in this example). I have this so far: [Code] Which works fine most of the time, however this code is used to process source code from multiple sites (that use the same platform), and sometimes there are other attributes included in the input tag, or they are in a different order, eg:
<input class="someclass" type="hidden" value="3" name="user_status" />
I just dont understand regex enough to cope with these situations.

If someone puts in a username and password, username= a and password=b, for example it still allows that individual to view the next page and doesn't throw the error that i have enbedded on the login page to say sorry you have the incorrect password/username. The working code that i have so far is below:

I have more than 30,000 rows in a table. It takes a lot of time to load all the data in the gridview. So I want to display 100 rows at a time. When I click next page button, another 100 rows should be displayed. When I click previous page button, previous 100 rows should be displayed. If I type page 5 in a text box, then I want to jump over to the 5th lot of rows.
I also want to display how many pages there will be. Can we implement this concept in vb.net [winform] gridview. I am using database PostgreSQL.

Well to get started on my program I'm working on a program that downloads info form World of Warcraft Armory website and then gives you statistics about random stuff. I'm having a little trouble with getting the XML. When you right click and click View Page Source you get the XML document. That is the exact text i want in my textbox of my form. So to recap: I want to get the "View Page Source" code of the website posted above. Iv tried the .documenttext and the .gethtml and .inner .outer ext ext but it all returns HTML and not the XML document from the right click and "View Page Source"

I'm working on a project. I want to be able to right click on a webpage and click on my custom context menu item (let's say 'screen'). What this should do is get all the page source from the current web page from where I righ clicked and save it on the disk. Basically, "right click -> view source -> file -> saveAs ", this is what i want to do programmatically.

Dim request As System.Net.HttpWebRequest = System.Net.HttpWebRequest.Create("http://jamesbwoii.fileave.com/hello.html")

So I grab a source from an url in vb, and as expected it lists everything written in there. My interest lies in the info that resides outside of the tags in the code. And that stuff gets updated daily, so they're not static strings eitherm here, I've been able to filter out all the tags, and grab everything outside them, and show em in a messagebox, but somehow it picks up every line change, that's essentially an empty character, and lists those as well. We hit our heads together with a couple of friends but we couldn't work out why.Also, I've tried modifying it to find different stuff, but somehow everytime I try something different the system gets screwed up and it finds no results. But that's just because I'm such a buffoon with the code.

I'm new to this forum but I'm going to be very active here from now one! Just a short Alright well I'm at this link right now [URL]..And what I am trying to do is get all of the usernames who commented on the video and place them all in a listbox in vb.net. When I looked at the source code I saw that all usernames are in data-author="USERNAME"
such as data-author="robertpattison122" robertpattison122 is the username.
So I want to get the text between the ""
I am a bit stuck in trying to retrieve all of the usernames. Can someone show me how I can do this in vb.net?
