1. When I insert an icon in my VB.NET form, for example: a small shield icon, a white box appears around it and it's very annoying and ugly! I want to disappear the white box at the back of my .ico image.
2. This white backgroud not only appears on .ico files, but also on normal image files like .png, .jpg, .bmp.

PrintPreviewDialog correctly displays the page which I assign to the control, but when I click on a small Printer Icon on it, it prints only a blank page.I know there is already a couple of posts about this problem on this forum, but they don't answer the question directly and the links with the examples within them point to non-existing web pages.

i was searching google for some kind solution and i found one, i tried to implement it in my code but it doesn't work. The problem is that after resizing white images they gets gray border.Here is the link of soloution i found:It says:
This problem is occuring because you are interpolating your image data to a new size, but along the edges there are no pixels to interpolate and .NET uses black pixels for these edges by default. To fix this you need to use an ImageAttributes class in your DrawImage call....
https:[url].....
CODE 1: And this is my code WITH IMPLEMENTATION OF ImageAttributes:
Private Shared Function ResizeImageFile(ByVal imageFile As Byte(), ByVal targetSize As Integer) As Byte()
Using oldImage As System.Drawing.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(New MemoryStream(imageFile))
Dim newSize As Size = CalculateDimensions(oldImage.Size, targetSize)[code].......

I have a vb.net 2008 application which has its corresponding icon.
The icon shows correctly except in the taskbar when the "small icon" setting is on.
My vb.net project includes a .ico file which when I see in the IDE includes 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, 64x64 and 256x256 bitmaps, in 4, 24 and 32 bits, also 3 .png images in 256x256 32 bits each.
I made the icon myself simply using a 64x64 bitmap and then converting it to .ico, and assigning it to the application in the project properties. I thought windows would use and escalate the corresponding image, it shows even in the file explorer properly in the small icon form, but not in the taskbar.

Simply saying I've added an Notify Icon to my project and then added context menu showing up when the left mouse button is pressed. The problem is that with the context menu some blank form is showing in the taskbar. There is no such form within the project.Does anyone know why it may be happening or how to get rid of the effect? I might add that I have other context menu attached for mouse right click button and it works fine, no blank forms and such showing on the taskbar it's just the left mouse button that works that way.Here is the code that I am using to show the menu:(the visible state to false is necessary for the other menus not to pop up with the one i want... unless anyone knows better method)
Private Sub NotifyIcon_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles NotifyIcon.Click
If e.Button = MouseButtons.Right Then
[code].....

I'm using this snippet to create a blank image in a picturebox, but is it possible to have the image coloured so that I can see it. (I'll need to colour it later anyway).
.Image = New Bitmap(newPictureBox.Width, newPictureBox.Height) 'blank image.
Also if it is possible, I intend to draw lines, rectangles on the image (hopefully) and save the lot, so would I lose the colour, or would it get saved, or does it depend on what it gets saved as?

I am using VB.NET to try and capture a portion of the screen so I found this code in several places to capture the whole screen:
Dim screenSize = SystemInformation.PrimaryMonitorSize
Dim bitmap = New Bitmap(screenSize.Width, screenSize.Height)
Using g As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(bitmap)
g.CopyFromScreen(New Point(0, 0), New Point(0, 0), screenSize)
End Using
bitmap.Save("c:scratchscreenshot.png", System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Png)
This works with no error throw and the file is created successfully but the resulting image is completely transparent (it is the correct size) - This question relates to the same error but the solution is to use Win32 GDI which I want to avoid if possible

I need to save Bitmap object loaded from image file (.png, .jpeg, .bmp) and save it as an icon (.ico) to a separate file.
First I tried saving Bitmap object to a file with Icon ImageFormat:
using System.Drawing;
Bitmap bmp = (Bitmap)pictureBox1.Image;
bmp.Save(@"C:icon.ico", Imaging.ImageFormat.Icon);
This one fails, as the icon produced is not in a proper format and it cannot be used as an icon.
Next one was to get HIcon from Bitmap and save it to a file:
using System.Drawing;
using System.IO;
StreamWriter iconWriter = new StreamWriter(@"C:icon.ico");
[Code]....
This one does not do the job too. Although icon file is properly written, it has only 16 colors and a limited width and height.
I'd like to be able to write icons with custom width and height that would preserve colors from the original image. Is this possible to achive in .NET?
