I'm considering a personal learning project. Using .NET(preferably VB) I want to build a simple desktop app that's only function is to display comics, like CDisplay, but with more advanced navigation. I want to be able zoom in by clicking on certain areas of an image, individual panels for instance, and have the zoom area automatically snap to the panel and blow it up. The images are usually in a standard format like .jpeg, .png, etc..
Something like this is what I'm going for: [URL]
I'm not even sure what this is called? Image mapping? Tone mapping maybe? Is it possible to do this within .NET or would it require some kind of outside library? Code samples would be nice, but obviously this is pretty vague request.
I have a form with a TableLayoutPanel with the following properties changed from default:
[Code]....
This is a stripped-to-the-basics version of part of my app. I want to generate a vertical, scrollable array of buttons which will allow me to select groups of photos. Each button will represent a group of one or more photos in a collection. The app will scan a folder and determine which groups are present, and which files are in each group. I create the buttons (with AutoSize), then determine the width of the widest button (at the same time, setting the button anchor property to make all buttons the same width. I then set the form to accomodate the width of the widest button.
I'm trying to create my own custom "inputbox" (can't think of VB.Net term for the VB6 input box).
Anyways, I'd like to have a label & a textbox on my form along with 2 buttons. I want to let the label to grow based on the text that is in it. I know it has an autosize feature to it, and guess I can use that, how do I limit the width so that once it hits that limit it goes to a new line so that if I have a message or a question to pose to the user, it doesn't get too wide. Kind of like MessageBox.Show.
It'll be Label at the top, textbox under that, and the two buttons under that. I'd like the textbox to move up/down based on the size of the label, and the buttons to do the same along with the window not becoming too wide.
Having many thousands of pictures, I made a screen saver with the functionality I want. If the LAN path goes away it reconnects later, bad pics can be deleted, rotated and saved, etc. Sometimes the pics don't size correctly and expand off the screen. The problem may be reuse of the same picturebox. What I might do is have a dedicated picture box with autosize left on, use that to obtain raw image size, then reload again into the picture box that will be displayed.
Private Function loadimage(ByVal pic As PictureBox, ByVal lab As Label, ByVal fname$) As Boolean With pic .SuspendLayout()
I am trying to perform Zoom and Pan the image in Picture box using the following The Width and Height of the picturebox is (1024,1024).
Private Sub Picturebox1_Paint(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles Picturebox1.Paint If Mouse_Operation = "ZOOM" then ZoomWidth = 1024 * Total_Zoom_value ZoomHeight = 1024 * Total_Zoom_value
[code]....
Total_Zoom_Value and (imgx, imgy) are calculated based on the mouse movements on the picturebox. Now I am able to do the PAN operation after Zoom operation. But If i try to do Zoom operation after PAN operation, I am not able to Zoom the image from the PAN co-ordinates (imgx, imgy). I am not getting how to retain the image drawn using e.graphics.drawimage.how to do the operations on e.graphics.drawimage.
Im looking for an image viewer that supports most types of image formats, including PDFs, and has the ability to rotate/zoom, and draw on an image. I've been looking but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way of going about modifying a control so that I would have these features? The main problem that I am running into is the lack of the ability to draw on an image. Im still sort of a newbie to .NET,
How can I zoom in/zoom out screen display? This is to be used for people having eyesight problem. I want to control the screen resolution by percent and not to any fixed size provided in control panel/display settings.I have to control the output of the main display and zoom in/zoom out by percent, according to user's eyesight matching
I created a Zoom in and Zoom out function for my application and it works great. I would just like your opion on my code, because I am wondering if it can be done a bit neater and more effective.
ts = ToolStrip cms = ContextMenuStrip vb.net If Me.Font.Size < 30 Then
[Code]...
Me.form.font changes the font of all the controls except toolstrips, contextmenu's and menustrips.
Any idea's if this can be done any neater or how you can make menustrip etc.. use the font of the form?
Edit:This is the Zoom In version btw. The Zoom out is identical except it uses - instead of + when declaring the newFontSize.
i have map of a State, i need to let the user to Zoom in amd Zoom out and show some buttons on the Picture if we zoomin or zoomout the buttons also will be moved according to the location like google map how to achive this?
I've been searching for hours tonight searching existing posts, other websites and all i can find are examples of how to capture a image from a webcam.Does anyone have any code that simple talks to the camera device via WIA, and then saves every image found on the device to a hard drive?I found this code below. Credit i cant tell you as i have a bunch of different flavors of code, but this only saves the file as a tmp file, and not the actual image file i expected after selecting?
I have several images that are going to randomly display in a picture box on a vb.net form. My question is, is there a way to auto-size the picture so it "fits" into the picturebox?
In my code I am taking a screenshot of a CAD screen. The image consists of various colored entities on an all-black background. I would like to find the extents of the non-black pixels in all four directions & crop the image to those extents or maybe a few pixels beyond.
Suppose if the user selects an image which is bigger than the size of the button, then i want it to autosize the image so that it fits the button I am providing an OpenFileDialog to the user to select the image for the button
I don't have code because I don't know if its possible. I need to make a webbrowser for work that will auto rezie images like internet explore does when it is to big for the browswer, I have done it with vb6 b4 by parsing it into ram and then displaying the image, but I don't know how to do it in vb.net cause the code will not convert. Also I need to have vb.net auto send user name and password to the website its navigating to. The website uses a standard username and prompt window that pops up once you navigate to the web address.
I'm hoping that you all could shed some light on this.As the title implies, I'm trying to make my application automatically start when Windows PE is loaded. To do this, I looked at some Microsoft documents.I first found out how to add an application to it: url...And then I found out how to autostart an application, like a different shell: url...In order to auto launch one or many applications, you have to make an .ini file and put it in the System32 folder. The .ini file is called, winpeshl.ini. The information in it is [code]When that didn't work, I put quotes around items and it still didn't work.I was thinking that it wouldn't load because my program isn't a shell application. If that's it, does anyone know how to make a shell app? Also, I don't think it's a framework issue because Windows PE comes with the 2.0 framework and I changed my app to target the 2.0 framework instead of 3.5

I have auto complete functionality in combo box ,it works properly but there is little issue ,I made the suggestion list appear for the text length more than 3 chars ,but the list appears after the length of 4 char (when user enters the fifth char of the text) which means when the code executed in the first time the list doesn't appear here is the code in Text_Changed Event
Private Sub TxtItem_TextChanged(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles TxtItem.TextChanged If Trim(TxtItem.Text) <> "" And Trim(TxtItem.Text).Length > 3 Then 'Autocomplete
[code].....
Note : This issue causes the application exit (sometimes) on Windows XP, but Doesn't affect on Windows 7
