Rectangleshape With A White / Transparent Square Box
Dec 17, 2010i've got a rectangleshape with gradient fill color as the user control. the moment i add it onto a form, there seem to be a white/transparent square box around where the cursor is. the same thing happen when i click on the control on the form at design time.

Aug 20, 2010I been playing around with some code I found on internet and I am probably almost where I need to be. Using the printdocument I am able to get the active form in my project to print. That works fine. MY nextr issue was to get the form to print so that it is Black & white. No shading etc.. So I found a routine on internet that will take image and turn to B&W. Problem: IF a text box fields background color is too dark then the entire box shows up in black. If a text box field data is Selected it also is too dark and comes out white.her is code I found for turnign to B&W

Display The Square Root Symbol On A Button In A Windows Form?
Feb 11, 2011I'm trying to display the square root symbol on a button in a windows form. I'm using the unicode U+221A which on windows character map is the root sign. When i enter this in visual basic ensure the font is the same as that in the character map (wasn't sure if that made a difference to the unicode) my button displays the eta sign instead. Any help greatly received.
This is the code i'm using to set my unicode the the buttons text property.

.NET Graphics On Windows 7: White Corners Around Images?
Feb 15, 2010I've been working on some custom graphics controls, and I found this weird problem with windows 7 rendering my button controls. I've used Photoshop to delete the pixels in the background all around the button image I'm using, then saved it as a GIF, and imported it into VS to use as the background image of my button. When windows XP renders it, it is fine, but when windows 7 renders it, all 4 corners have an odd white border around them.

Mar 22, 2011must stop the user from proceeding if the textbox is null,if the textbox has only spaces in it.i tried . trim but that doesnot work, still spaces are excapted as valid characters.

Dec 4, 2010I'm trying to make an autoupdater, so I've made it search for updates in the beginning and that works fine. But now when the update form is supposed to open, it goes a while and then it says "File Download Complete". So that means the form must have been executed, but it does just not appear. But when I click ok on the dialog, the updater form appears, but with all controls white. Here's my updater.vb: [URL]
I'm using Kleinma's WebFileDownloader class.
I suspect that the problem might be that the updater's form doesn't get it's events handled or doesn't get redrawn.

Dec 28, 2011i have 2 forms , in the form1 i have some data excecuting ,before enters to the process am loading form2 which has a label that am sending the text i want to display ,and a picture box with gif animator picture.At the end of the process of form1 which has finished the exceting data then am closing waitingMessage box. Here is my main problem. am succesfully display the form but the gif animator is not spining ,and the text in the form and the gif animator is like a white box and no visualy displayed.I got some time on the internet to research it and most propably the problem is mostly seems to be the threads ,but i dont know how to correctly configure it,
PS . i dont want to use the data excecution in the form2 ,becuase if i doit like this ,then when ever i want to display a waiting msg for any other process i will need to implement onother form.i would like to keep it universal and calling it when ever i want and close it as my data excecutes.form1 has some proceess to do. e.g

Nov 18, 2010I made a form with text boxes in a 6x6 square pattern. It will do a streamreader from a text file a number that indicates the size of the array. Then fill in the boxes with the numbers of the array. Then it will calculate the rows and columns to see if they add up to a single answer. Then it will display to an output window if it is a magic square or not. Meaning if all rows and columns add up to a single number its magic. If they dont add up to the same number then its not magic. Then it will repeat this check and output from the information of the other arrays from the text file.
I know how to code for the streamreader and get it to add the rows and columns. Im not sure about what code I need so it can check the answer if its magic or not and repeat it till the end.

NOTE: Picsource is just a PictureBox named that way. If I put "BrushSquare.SurroundColors = Color.Red" in a comment. The program works but the edges are white, not red like I want them to be.
