.NET Graphics On Windows 7: White Corners Around Images?

I've been working on some custom graphics controls, and I found this weird problem with windows 7 rendering my button controls. I've used Photoshop to delete the pixels in the background all around the button image I'm using, then saved it as a GIF, and imported it into VS to use as the background image of my button. When windows XP renders it, it is fine, but when windows 7 renders it, all 4 corners have an odd white border around them.

I'm using GIF images, but whenever I put them on my forms in Visual Basic they still have the white background. How do I get rid of the white backgrounds?

I been playing around with some code I found on internet and I am probably almost where I need to be. Using the printdocument I am able to get the active form in my project to print. That works fine. MY nextr issue was to get the form to print so that it is Black & white. No shading etc.. So I found a routine on internet that will take image and turn to B&W. Problem: IF a text box fields background color is too dark then the entire box shows up in black. If a text box field data is Selected it also is too dark and comes out white.her is code I found for turnign to B&W

must stop the user from proceeding if the textbox is null,if the textbox has only spaces in it.i tried . trim but that doesnot work, still spaces are excapted as valid characters.

I have been researching for a while, and now am converting my project from using forms to do transparencies to just drawing the images. At first, I thought picturebox's could be used, but can't figure out how to do transparencies on those, so I settled for drawing images. As we know, the Graphics class does not support for Indexed formats,like 8bpp, 4bpp, and 1bpp. Now I want to draw text on 8bppIndexed image displayed in my Picturebox. Also I want to PAN my image. If at all the "Graphics" Class supported 8bppIndexed Images, I would have done PAN Image using "LockBits" Method and drawn text on the Image using Solid Brush. But since that is not the case, how can I do these 2 operations without "Graphics" class.

I managed to combine two .png images into one, and then display the result in a pictureBox image.However, the pictureBox seems to scale up my image! Makes it bigger!The pictureBox size is 96x128. The two images I have combined are 96x128. The pictureBox's SizeMode is set to "Normal"I have noticed that even though the pictureBox's image seems to be zoomed, it is cut to keep the 96x128 rect. I have a Form1 where i can add usercontrols during runtime. I draw their appereance in the OnPaint event using the GDI+ engine. The greate part is that i want to be able to resize these images during runtime wich goes pretty well now cause i draw points in percentage of the control. Unfortunetly it is very difficult to draw nice images/drawings ect with the GDI+ engine. Is there any other way in doing this?

I've got a picturebox on my form which is supposed to hold a compass. I've created the compass with DrawEllipse, then I used a translatetransform() to move the origin to the center of the picture box:

The problem is that it creates two images, one is correctly displayed of a compass with red tick marks, but the same image is displayed over it and is offset at the new origin (midx,midy). I tried using the prepend and append overload for the translatetransform sub but it didn't make a difference. I thought everything after the translatetransform would be set at the new origin, but it seems I'm creating the image twice, what am i doing wrong?

My app allows the user to set a new button on a tabpage, move it and resize it. They will do this over a background image so the buttons line up with images in the background.Without the background image, the buttons move smoothly and quickly. With the image turned on, the buttons want to move sloooowly and they drag. I made up this code just to show the basic function of what I am trying to accomplish.

I have an application that has a list of point and I can choose a tool and draw one image to different locations then remove them if I wish, and when I finish editing those images, I can then pick another tool . The images are supposed to go away that were drawn by e.graphics but they only do when I click in the picturebox. How can I hide the images or delete them from graphics when I choose another imageHere's the paint event alone

I am starting to develop a card game client for a CCG a friend of mine and I are creating.
I have 2 forms Client.vb and Hand.vb linked with a module.vb
In essence when the app starts up I see the client. I can then click the "Hand" button and the Hand Window is shown as well.
What my goal is is to have it so that when i hover over the card (picturebox) in my hand form that it displays a larger image of that card in the preview box (Another picture box) In Client.vb
I have everything working except when i actually mouse over the image in the hand form it creates an error:
Error:A first chance exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' occurred in CCG 2.0.exe

Is there a way to be able to resize a form from somewhere other then the lower left? Normal the form is 1080x1024 but i have a few people with laptops that are smaller and there are scroll bars, but it opens too big for the screen and the resizing can only be done in the lower right. Is there a way to change that without having to adjust my form layout?

I Have been working with the gradient brush, and its quite cool I would Though like to make a gradient that goes to four corners, where each corner is a different color. Anyone know how to do this, or any short tutorials on this?

I would like to create a no border form (i know how to do this), and make the corners rounded off, kind of like you see in iTunes, the form has rounded edges. Can someone help me with this? I know how to create the Rounded Rectangle, but what i don't know how to do, is make the area outside of the rounded rectangle (the corners) become transparent This is going to be used on a usercontrol, so i really need it to be transparent and not just blend in (ie adapt to the colour of the parent form).

I am writing a program wherein the user draws shapes by clicking a button for the desired shape and then clicking on points on the drawing area. I cannot figure out how to store four clicked points to create a foursided polygon. I read many articles that say use the "mousedown" command and store points in a list, I have tried but it's not working for me. To summarize, I need the user to click the polygon button, go to the drawing area, click four points and have a foursided polygon created.

I'm putting together a small program in Visual Basic Express 2010, and part of it is to take a delayed screen shot.
I've got the main code working, I've got Visual Basic delaying taking the screen shot with System.Threading.Thread.CurrentThread.Sleep(5000), but what I'm looking for is a way to draw directly to the screen the number of seconds remaining.
You know how in Windows, in the Display Properties under Settings, when you click on Identify you get a huge number displayed on each monitor?
I'm trying to recreate that, with the number counting down until the screen shot is taken, giving the user plenty of notification to get their required applications in focus for the screen shot.
Is it possible to do this? Or is it something that will take a heck of a lot of coding?

We have a vb.net desktop application that uses a number of graphical images. All is well when the Windows Display is set to the default small font; however, when the display is set to the medium (125%) font, the graphical images don't display properly. We can accommodate the changes to windows sizes and text boxes, etc using autoscale and autosize; however, this doesn't help with images. Is there any way to overcome this issue?
