I am creating a Windows application (WPF) that is going to be running in few stations accessing 1 database.
I already implemented a login form with a login system thru My.User.CurrentPrincipal.Now, I want to implement a "Remember me on this computer" check box in the login form, where should I store the value?
Should it be a cookie? a .settings value? or what good other suggestion do you have.Update Also what data (i.e. what value) shoud I store, I want it to be secure, that users should not be able to copy the values etc.

There are some specific issues I am facing after deploying the project to the client machine.
- I have a CMS (ContextMenuStrip) in one of my forms associated with a TreeView and its not showing.
- Another form that contains a custom DataGridView which i created by subclassing default DataGridView is not showing this control.
DETAILS:-
- Everything works fine on my machine
- I BUILD the project in the RELEASE mode
- From the binRelease folder copied the .exe to the client machine in the root, also copied the Reports to the root on client. Is this correct way to deploy?
- Instead of setting the CMS property of the TreeView, I instantiated a CMS in my form, assigned it to CMS property of TreeNodes when TreeNodes are populated programmatically.
Is it possible to make one or more items in a checked list box collection non-selectable? I wnat to present the items to the user but not allow selection of them.
View 6 RepliesI have a radar which works by drawing monsters onto a paint panel, which can be made transparent so that only the drawn items are shown on screen, but when you mouse over the drawn items they are selectable so it disturbs the game, is there any way to set the drawn items so that they cannot be selected? basically ignored by the mouse cursor.
View 17 RepliesI would like to build a form that has multiple picture boxes that a user can browse through and click on each one to select multiple items. The pictures will all be pulled from a single directory. After they have selected the items, they will click a button that will change the names on all the selected pictures. I know how to change the names, but I need some assistance with the picture box and loading the file names into a list or array. Not sure what it would be called. I am not even sure really if I would use a picture box or some other form item.

I want the users to be able to select a different background image to match their industry. I have all the images embedded, but can't figure out how to allow the user to select.
Preference is to have a separate form for the user to cheese on launch, but I am OK with it just being a dropdown in the lower left corner of the app.

I need to change the cell type of an unbound datagridview ROW to checkbox type at runtime. Optionally adding a row of all checkboxes or changing the default type to checkbox is also fine. I see many examples for setting a column type to checkbox but I don't see anything that operates at the row level. Even operating at the cell level would be fine.

I have a tbl called tblProjectpatients which also has 2 fields Yes and No (these have the data type - Bit). These two fields have been populated with false and true values. On my form, I have a datagridview which is populated with various values from tblProjectpatients. The problem am facing is that the checkbox's for Yes and No on the datagridview are empty at runtime eventhough at the backend they have either False or True values. I am expecting the checkbox showing on the datagridview to be either checked or Not Checked depending on the True or false values.

View 5 RepliesI have my own control which inherit System.Windows.Forms.Control The only functionality that this control requires is the capability of losing and gaining focus. I learned this requires the control style of selectable to be applied which is descriptive as exactly what I'm in need of, "If true, the control can receive focus.".
However after applying this style in my code, the control still refuses to have anything to do with gaining or losing focus. Other styles I have applied to this particular control are as fallowed
UserPaint, AllPaintingInWmPaint, and SupportsTransparentBackColor. I'm not sure but perhaps one of these other styles interferes with the one that's not working properly.

View 4 RepliesI've created a Datagridview bound to a Datatable. This Datatable is updated by a event to reflect statistical information as it changes (sub second resolution). I have a checkbox to determine if a row is available for other functions and can be toggled on and off normally if my eventhandler is not receiving my updates.
If my bound Datatable is changed, the checkbox returns to its previous state as soon as the cursor or focus leaves the checkbox glyph (not the cell).
How do I toggle the checkboxes without them reseting without disconnecting my eventhandler?

I have a Datagrdiview control that is populated from values in a table. ie: One column would have a check box for weather a record has been processed using a Posted field as a boolean Check box. My problem as that I need this field to also show the results if the record is rejected or not. [B]I am trying to have the box unchecked if the record has not been posted. Checked if the record has been posted Or be Marked with a red X if the record has been rejected.The rejected field is of course in another column in the table.
