In the Windows control panel you can adjust the Display properties for which text size to use between the default value which is the smallest size text and 2 larger sizes. How can you get which text size the Display properties are set to for one's computer through Visual Basic code?

I have to implement a column (TransactionCompleted) which will only hold two states Yes/No. I am using SQL Express and wonder which would be the best DataType to go for that column, if I prefer to display the data in a DataGridView column as CheckBoxes later in my application?

I've a form set to size 1240:750. On my PC where I've VB2010 installed, the screen size is set to 1680:1024 and the form can be viewed fine but on a PC with screen size set to 1280:1024 (higher than the form) the form in question is cropped almost a third of it. To adjust the form to everyone screen size I set the below code at load with no avail.
'Autosize form to screen
Me.Height = (SystemInformation.PrimaryMonitorSize.Height) * (0.9)
Me.Width = (SystemInformation.PrimaryMonitorSize.Width) '* (0.9)
Me.MaximumSize = New System.Drawing.Size(Me.Width, Me.Height)
Me.MinimumSize = New System.Drawing.Size(1240, 750)

I would like to know the correct procedure to deploy windows application in VS-2005.
There are some specific issues I am facing after deploying the project to the client machine.
- I have a CMS (ContextMenuStrip) in one of my forms associated with a TreeView and its not showing.
- Another form that contains a custom DataGridView which i created by subclassing default DataGridView is not showing this control.
DETAILS:-
- Everything works fine on my machine
- I BUILD the project in the RELEASE mode
- From the binRelease folder copied the .exe to the client machine in the root, also copied the Reports to the root on client. Is this correct way to deploy?
- Instead of setting the CMS property of the TreeView, I instantiated a CMS in my form, assigned it to CMS property of TreeNodes when TreeNodes are populated programmatically.

I am working on a project. Part of my project requires me to capture data, for example, email address, from certain rows/columns of a datagridview(form2.vb) and displays them in a textbox on another windows form(form1.vb) with a click of a button(Add Contact button). The problem is the datagridview on my form must be able to display databases by making a connection to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 but so far, i have not been able to do that. I have seen many codes with regards to my problem but i do not know how to implement it.
Below are my codes that i have written so far. My program's limitations are not being able to display databases from Microsoft SQL Server 2005 so i created the statement below to add columns and test my codes.
DataGridView1.Columns.Add("CustName", "CustName")
DataGridView1.Columns.Add("Email", "Email")

I am working on an application using vb 2008 express. I have built test programs over the past few weeks and shared them for feed back. Today when I finished some work, I built another test application, but when I install it the start-up screen maximizes but is set between one and two desktop icons from the top of the screen.
In debug mode it looks fine. In the past it looks fine. Each time I start the program the screen is in a slightly different location. It is set to start maximized and to the best of my knowledge, I did not change any settings in the property area. I have tried loading on three computers and the results are the same. Any ideas on what I could have done to produce this strange result?

Whenever a person adjusts how big they want there display, it will distort my application, it will make images overlap and will make text bigger.
Is there some code I can do to tell my program to ignore the size set by the display on windows?

The DataGridView fetches the data from a MySQL server but it does not fill the entire box in size.
Ideally I would like to manually set the table size to fit the box at least width-wise because the rest will fill up once the database is populated more.

how to make the datagridview fit to the size of the table itself. I have it working properly, however when the table is returned there is a ton of blank space between the bottom of the last row of the table and the datagrid. Anyone know what property this is to change this?

I have two forms, each with a DataGridView populated by using an sql statement. I have clearly done something at design time as one grid displays cells sized in 8.5 and the other in 9.5. I cannot find anything for Font in the DataGridView properties or in my code, but it would be a very useful feature to be able to control the Font size on my DataGridViews. How did I do it? I have no idea. Did I set something on the form itself? I remember changing the font size on a label and the next button I created took that size.

I'm trying to get specific rows in a DataGridView to resize to the minimum height required to display my wrapped text. There's only field with multiple lines, and usually its in the vicinity of 1-2, but can get up to four. When I called[code] DataGridView1.AutoResizeRow(loadcol)[/codein a for-loop, it made every column enormous,enough to fit maybe 9 or 10. I don't want the user to have to resize columns to see pertinent data, nor to have to scroll and try to remember all the data as they edit

I'm using a datagridview to display data from an Access database. Is there a way to have the columns that are imported be set to fill up the entire datagridview? depending on what data I'm displaying the columns are either too narrow or too long for the datagridview. I'd like them to always just fill up the entire space in the datagridview without having scroll bars or empty space.

At the moment when i run my form1.vb program it runs in the top left of my screen, when i save it as an application and then open it from a shortcut will it still do this or will it open in the centre of the screen? In the designer it is in the top left of the screen, is there a way to move it here? as my assumption (which is probably wrong) is that the position it is in the designer is the position it is as an application? Is that right? and if it is how to i change the position in the designer?

Now I'm creating at app in VB (Microsoft's, Visual Basic 2010) which will be in full screen but I want to know if I can put all my content in the centre of the screen. At the moment it's at the far top, left of the screen. When the screen size varies I want it will stay in the middle for all shapes and sizes. Like :
<div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 500px;"></div>
But this is for web pages using HTML and CSS.

I have created a GUI and have set my 'Form1' window to match that of my PC monitor ( 1280x1024 ). However when i move the project to work on my netbook, the screen on my netbook is only 1024x600 and half my GUI is missing. Is there any way i can adjust my settings so that my 'Form1' GUI will auto adjust and display in full on both screen when i move the project back and forth?
