When I do xml.SelectNodes("DataSet") with the xmlns in the root tag, it finds no nodes. If I remove the xmlns attribute, it works fine.How can I make it work while leaving the attribute?

Apr 10, 2012Finding the level of the particular xml using a node value in .Net Experts ! This is my sample Xml.This is a tree structure and T->T.1,T.2->T.2.2,TA->TA.1 - this is the tree strucutre. I know the value of tag . ie 1232,1343.. etc.Using this ID how can I find that 1343 is coming under 1232. or 1490 is under 1090 which is again under 1232.Expected output : if i pass 1490 then I need to know 1490,1090,1232 etc (from that nodeto the top node).I am using .net 2.0

Feb 17, 2010I have a simple class that I trying to populate from an XML document. The XML file has an attribute called TrackingID in the root node which I would like to get as a property. For some reason, when I deseralize the class, the TrackingID is null. Everything else populates fine. I have tried various attributes on the TrackingID property with no luck.

May 19, 2009In the following code when the Element ("title2") is deleted the Attribute(("TEST") on another node doesn't get delete. If you remove the xnode1.RemoveChild(xNode2) (that deletes the element) the attribute does gets deleted. why I can't delete the attribute when I delete the element on another node?

Oct 13, 2011I have a list of objects, each object has a score attribute,The list of scores needs to be combined on the player ID to become a totaled score or series. My current thought process is to For Each through the list of individual games, and add the score attribute to a new list of scores with the same objects. So one list would be like:
clsGame(ID Number, Sore)
dim ScoreList as list(of clsGames)
ScoreList.Add(New clsGame(11, 244)
ScoreList.Add(New clsGame(11, 333)
ScoreList.Add(New clsGame(11, 444)
Then go through combining on like ID's to make a new list of games, that would actually be the series.

For each game as clsGame in ScoreList
'cycle through the list of series seeing if an ID matches, if so add the score onto that ID

Now I don't know how to add the player if its not in the seiries list without doing a heck of a lot more for each statements. If I add it after the end if then it will be added even if it is in the list..I tried playing around with List.Contains method, but I could only see if it contaned the exact same values i.e
SeiresList.Contains(game)
and because the scores are different (series vs single game) it wouldn't match, and I don't know how to see if it contains an object with just one of the attributes the same...

Apr 18, 2010I'm an intermediate student taking on a monopoly game for a summative project. I decided to simulate the game monopoly. The rules are the same as the board game, so the idea is that each "property" or board piece is a button. I will have variables for the players position and player totals. To indicate an owned property, I'll change the buttons to flatstyle and use the bordercolor property.
To indicate the player position, I change the text on the button to include "Player: " etc. The trouble I'm having is that each button is named based on position, followed by the name. ie: "btn1Start", "btn2BalticAvenue", so on and so forth. Now, once I roll the two die and gather random integers, I add the total to the player position. Now what I want to do is find the button that the position corresponds to.

I've tried various methods. Me.Controls.Contains("btn" & Position) is a boolean, so I can't make an object control class equal to that. Me.Controls.Find requires an exact name, so I can't do Me.Controls.Find("btn" & Position) because it needs the full name - each property has something else added on to the name (eg "BalticAvenue"). I want to set the button equal to the specific button based on the turn position, so I can update the text to include the player and allow him/her to initiate the property's effect (buy/pay rent/or chance cards).
