it has been a while since I have asked a question here so I thought now would be a great time to do so. I am creating an application that loops through the file names of a specific directory, in this case, the System32 folder. I want the program to compile a list of the file names and then I want the file names to be displayed on a Timer_Tick event so the name will change on every tick. If anyone could provide a snippet of code to achieve this that would be great. I have been researching and debugging all night with no luck.
I am writing a program that will read files from a directory and show the thumbnails, then rename the selected files with a time/date stamp and policy number.
I have created a new icon using VB.NET and have saved it to the project directory. I then set the icon property for a form to point to my new icon file. The new icon shows up in the properties window but when the program runs, the title bar displays the default icon that you get when starting a new icon file rather than my new icon.
add a custom field and/or attributes in active directory (whichever their called) for a user. For instance, im wanting to add a field for employee id but can I also get this field to show up in active directory users and computers to see if its working correctly? Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. - "Sherlock holmes" "speak softly and carry a big stick" - theodore roosevelt.
how it might be possible to only request the FileIO permission for the data directory created by clickonce? I want to run my clickonce exe from the web, but I only want to request the IO permission for the data directory where I am storing some user files. Unfortunately, I don't know the directory when I build the project.
I'm creating a simple .NET console application where I want to save a file in a folder that's part of the root project, like so: SolutionName.ProjectNameTestData. I want to put test.xml into the TestData folder. However, when I go to save my XDocument, it saves it to SolutionName.ProjectNameinx86Debug Console est.xml.
copying the file from one Directory to another directory by create the folder if that folder is not exists in destination directory.Example:
Source path: C: emp est1.txt destination path: C:Data if C:Data doesn't contains "temp" or "test" folder, it should create the folder before copy the 1.txt.[code]....
I'll tell you what I'd like to do which is to create a directory listing of every file inside a specified directory and then use a loop to upload each file in this directory to a remote folder via FTP.
Public Sub PopulateWaterRecords(ByVal dDateTo As Date) 'Populates the water record forms for each year 'Dim UserName As String = Membership.GetUser().UserName
I am attempting to compare two directory trees. I have the program map the network drive and copy a directory. I need it to verify that the files copied successfully by comparing the source to the destination. If comparison returns equal then perform action1, if comparison returns unequal then perform action2.
Trying to read data through the virtual COM port created by bluetooth.
The original console program (and the trimmed version below) was designed to read data from serial port COM1 and output the data to notepad. The program works; hook the bar code reader to COM1, activate bar code reader, swipe card, bar code reader beeps, data input collected from COM1 and sent out to notepad.
The problem: Bluetooth is wanted instead of serial cable.
We disconnected the serial cable, we connected a USB bluetooth receiving device onto the XP. XP installed the bluetooth device drivers 'Generic Bluetooth Radio' and 'MS Bluetooth Enumerator'. Bluetooth detected the bar code reader device and created COM5 outgoing SPP slave and created COM6 incoming.
But now; activate bar code reader, swipe card, bar code reader beeps, NO data input collected from COM5.
i am using a windows application as well as web application developed in visual studio 2010 beta 2 using .net framework 4 on windows xp/windows server 2008/windows7 i am able to read web.config file on system running windows XP sp2 but same is not read by windows 7 and windows server 2008 i installed my web application on iis 7 on said windows with .net 4 but it not read web.config by my windows application. i used below code on form_load in windows application for reading that web.config-
My program creates a array of numbers as entered by a user and then finally adds them up. The form should be able to display the numbers typed in by the user. I know how to put one of these numbers into separate labels and could display each number that way but I wanted to know if there is a simple way to display the string that is created as a list in perhaps a read only text box or similar?
I cannot read files from the current directory. If I give it a absolute path name, works fine.
I get a file not found error, saying C:programfilesCommenfilesMicrsoftsharedevserver10.0stormdoor.html. A interested fact is that my project is not stored in the folder it says it's current, the project is stored in C:useres edpoottelmydoumentsVisual studio 2010WEbSitesmaster2
I have a txt file that I need to read into a listview, but I need to read from a specific line in that file. Below is a sample of the txt file to read,
From what I can tell this isn't possible with CopyDirectory. Is there a simple way to copy a directory and overwrite everything, or do I have to have it first check each directory for read-only files and then change their Read-Only attribute?
for example, i would like to find the key word "1234567" from the folder which is consist of many of the text files, what are the command i would need to apply into my script ?The folder consists of few files namely as example:
my knowledge of VB.net is limited and i'm really trying hard to figure this problem out...
what i did was create a list box and populate it with a directory ("C:Documents and Settingsuserfolder1")...
once the listbox displays the files from the directory, i want to select a certain file and that file will be opened up in a rich text box. What i found to display the directory in a listbox is:
Dim directory As New IO.DirectoryInfo("C:Documents and SettingsjtanDesktopRECV") Dim diar1 As IO.FileInfo() = directory.GetFiles() Dim dra As IO.FileInfo Dim files As String
I need to read the distinguished name of the current user (the one running the program) from Active Directory.I'm warm (I know I should use System. DirectoryServices and DirectorySearcher), but somehow I can't get the code to work properly, nor can I find a working example. Now, after having spent hours searching for examples on the internet, I'm getting quite frustrated with myself, so I turn to you hoping someone can provide an example. Why I need this: when people run this program, it needs to detect which OU they belong to. We have several sites (for example Rotterdam and Amsterdam) and depending on what site the user's OU is, I need to perform some actions. So I hope to derive f.e. "OU=Rotterdam" from their DN.
I have some problem with copying the file from one Directory to another directory by create the folder if that folder is not exists in destination directory.
I'm going through All-In-One Code Framework Coding Standards document and one of the recommendations is to add a file header comment at the start of every human-created code file. This is the first time I've seen such a recommendation and to me it's just an unnecessary and ugly clutter but I'm wondering if someone could explain why M$ recommends this?
