how I can pass data from my VB form to InfoPath?
I'd like to have a link on my VB form that will open an InfoPath Form with some information already pre-populated (name, date, etc.) with information that is already filled in on the VB form. I'm pretty sure there is a way to do this, just haven't figured it out yet.
I am trying to extract a hyperlink using the open file dialog with no success.System.NullReferenceExceptionObject reference not set to an instance of an object.

View 1 RepliesI've got a program where the insert/update SQL was created with the values coded directly into the SQL string. I've changed this to use the Command's Parameters.AddWithValue method and all worked well. I'm now in the process of separating the data access code out into it's own class. I've got the Select code working using a DataSet in the form that I pass ByRef to my data class so it can populate or refresh it. My sticking point is in how to pass the parameters for the Insert/Update commands to the class since from the form I no longer have access to a Command object. Do I need to make the Command object in the data access class available to the form?

I'm making a complex calculation software that prompts user inputs values and calculates all those unknown variables. I have returned to a project I started a while ago. I have a small members database showing basic info (Title, Forename and Surname) in a data grid view with all data populated from a SQL database. I have the dataset populated with all this info as well as other data through the use of relationships/foreign keys (Addresses and Telephone Numbers, etc)I have tested the relationships using a simple form which shows the correct addresses, telephones, etc for each user as you navigate through it.
I now wish to show just the datagridview on form 1 which is read only with the row select set to full row (I have done all this so far). I have also set up a second form which displayes just the relationship data.I want to be able to load the second form (with the address and telephone number data, etc) when the row is double clicked by the user. ie - if row 15 is double clicked on, then the second form should load the address and telephone number data for record 15.
In a threadpooling situation is it possible for a modal form to be opened and data from that form to be passed back to the thread that opened it ?

I have a SQL 2008 database and I want to use Visual Basic 2010. what I want to do is bring up a form with a group of products for my company. Based on the users selection they will put a check mark next to the product and then submit the query/data filter/ selection.passing that information to another screen with the details of all the sales for that item.

I use VB to get data through my form. I have some optional fields in my form and I have a problem with the following code:

When the optional field 'Questions1' is inserted into the form I get the value 'true' by the IsNode() function.
If the field it is not inserted I have an exception stating that the reference is not correct (and it is indeed true). Is there a way to verify about a node, whether it is present or not in my form?
I am new to Office programming. I am trying to automate sending Infopath forms through Outlook. The form must be displayed in the body of the e-mail, which the customer can fill in and send it back. I am able to do this manually by selecting File->New->Choose Infopath Form through Outlook.

I'm trying to call it with the following code but am getting an exception:

The exception i'm getting is "COMException was unhandled - Exception from HRESULT: 0xC0000005" It looks to me that the array isn't passing properly to the COM function. I'm able to send a single object, but when I do an array of objects I get this exception.
I have populated an array.
Button1 click event

Now, in the same class, I have another button.
When I click on this button2, i want to use this array to stream files to textfile.
The problem is that I cannot pass data from button1 click event to button2, as I have to declare the array again, and that causes array to lose data on button2 click.
If I however, declare array on top of class, I get a funny error sying out of index range etc.

Doing this code the data is added up in the combobox dropdown list. But when I am selecting a data from the combobox dropdown list,the all the corresponding data of the other combobox also get filled automatically. I don't want to let the other combobox filled with their data automatically....
regarding the DataGridView Checkbox.. I have two Forms, The 1st one has a datagridview..but in order to load the data to form1 datagridview, i need to open another form w/c also has a datagridview w/checkboxes on it.. I need to select a data in the form2 datagridview w/the use of checkbox..when i select an item..then press the ok button, the checked checkbox with the info corresponds to the data i selected will appear in the form1 datagridview. I have done this and works fine, but when i select two data or when i checked two items on the form2 datagridview.. only one info is added on the form1 datagridview.. here is my

View 15 RepliesI have an Infopath form that retrieves data from a datasource, then populates a repeating table with a dynamic number of rows depending on employid. Once the data is populated, a "user" can enter numbers, times, etc. That part works fine. Now, what I would like to do is submit the data to a sql database. I just can't figure out how to navigate through each record of the repeating table. I have tried the following code, but have been unsuccessful. I can not get the XpathNodeIterator to work on the secondary datasource.

We are using VB 2005(Visual Basic.net) with SQL server as database and MS Access for the Reports. Right now we are passing the footer label from our VB app to MS Access for a selected report. If the user closes that report(not closing access) and opens another report the footer label is not being displayed. Is there any way I could send the footer label to all the reports in Access as soon as I open the database.Right now in below code we are sending the footer label just for the report selected. Is there a way to send the footer label to all the reports that are existing in the Access database.

From what I understand, when you use AddHandler you're not actually calling a Sub, so you can't pass a parameter. I'm confused on what to do though about this. I've just populated a DataGridView and added a button to it in the codebehind. I'm then using an AddHandler to add a click event to the button. So when I get to the click event, I need to be able to access to the datagridview because clicking the button takes data from the datagridview and loads it into excel. What would I do about this. This is my Method where DataGridView was just populated

I assumed it would be the same in VB2008 but I get the error.'cmbDataTable' is not a menber of 'System.Windows.Forms.Form'I am working my way through the project, first updating the global procedures - this is one - I haven't written the calls so cmbDataTable doesn't yet exist.
