Deleting A Single Row From A Gridview?
Mar 15, 2012i am having problem in deleting a single row from a gridview. i am using binding navigaator to delete the row. i have customer table and booking table. Cust_id is used as foreign key in booking table. when i try to delete a single row from booking table it delete all the bookings related to that customer in the gridview.It also deletes the related customer aswell. i just want to delete one booking of that customer

Delete All Rows In SQL Gridview Is Deleting All But 1 Row
Feb 15, 2010So I've created a gridview with checkboxes so the user can check as many fields as they want and delete them with the click of a button. It works except that it deletes all selected rows except one, the row with the lowest number. I can't firgure out what logic error is causing this.

How To Access Variables In Another Class Without Deleting Any
Oct 31, 2011I have been charged with porting a VB6 project into VB.NET. In vb6, if you were in a class separate to a particular variable, you could access that variable easily:

Public k As Integer
End Class

End Class
In VB.NET, my understanding is that before you can use a variable in another class, you must declare a new instance of it:
Dim foobar As New Foo
This would be fine, but I have to access these variables from different classes and every time I declare a new instance, it wipes all old values from the variables, which I need. I tried using Inherits statements but they presented many problems.

Feb 28, 2012I have recently been working with creating a GridView from codebehind to make it more flexible so that I can eventually have it created based on user specifications.Now I'm exploring classes, and I thought it would be cool to create a GridView class so that whenever I need to make a GridView I can just pass the class my specifications instead of having the same code re-written on each page's codebehind.Here's how I'm currently making my GridView with codebehind. Any idea how I can change this to create the GridView with a class?

Feb 17, 2011I have created a service that will update a table. <foxpro to mysql>Before the update it will delete all the data in a table<mysql> and then insert the record from the dataset<from foxpro> one by one.I have more than 5000 records and it is very time consuming, now I would like to ask for some idea if there is a way in vb.net to only insert the data that have been recently added to the table<in foxpro> to mysql table. I have the same problem as this poster, however I am using a .net gridview and would like render my html to use the fix offered here.Using CSS to create table cells of a specific width with no word wrapping. EDIT I think I may be going about this all wrong, maybe you don't change the rendering by extending the BoundField, but rather add the properties to the boundfield then change the way the gridview renders its fields based on the properties of those fields.Which also leads me down the path of control adapters,

Jul 26, 2011I'm designing a small GUI Windows program that allow staff at a cinema to reserve seats for customers. There will be a total of 60 seats in the cinema. I have two classes in my program:-
1.) MainForm.vb - used for I/O actions and user interaction
2.) SeatManager.vb - used to hold and handle the background methods and functions that make the program work
Here is the code for my MainForm.vb class thusfar:-

Basically, when the program opens, the lstReservations list in the MainForm class will be populated with a total of 60 (m_totalNumberOfSeats) entries to represent 60 seats. Each of these seats will contain the index number from the array m_nameList; this index number (+1) will represent the seat number and then in the lstReservations list, after the seat number, I'd like it to contain the respective entry from the m_nameList array. As all entries will be held in RAM, when the GUI is opened, all m_nameList array entries will be empty. As the user uses the program, they can highlight a row in the lstReservations list and then use the GUI textboxes to enter the customer's name which will then be populated into the respective array entry.
how to, when the GUI opens, ensure that the lstReservations list takes all of the blank entries from the m_nameList array and from there, I can highlight a row to carry out further methods on?
