.Net 2008 : Multicolumn Combobox Like Access?

I am running VS2008 and developing a Windows Form App in VB.Net. Is there not a bound multicolumn combobox like Access has had forever? If there is one buried in VS2008, the Windows OS or MPF 2010 or somewhere else would you mind sharing? I could hardly believe my eyes when I did not see one in the common controls list.
Not knowing the correct terminology, I would like this control to be a tool component that I can drag onto my form and set the binding and column properties and be done with it.Come on Microsoft VB.Net Dev Team... where have you been on this? This type of control has been out for umpteen years in Access and 3rd party took kits. There is nothing that says Rapid development like roll your own code! I have seen serveral articles on how it can coded;?

Is there a dll somewhere or some place I can read a good example on how to add data from a datatable into a multicolumn combobox? Preferably to be able to stick a datagridview right into the combobox would be awesome.

I am trying to populate my combobox from Access, I decided to use a function in a separate module to connect, querry and return the result to my combobox for the sake of diminishing the number of lines, but I can't get it to work in .net.
Here is the module I modified from what I found on the net:

I remember .eof method for my "While Not" loop but I can't seem to make it work. Basically the table in my DB consist of 2 columns, the first being ID (autonumbers) and the second are the records I want to access via my combobox, there is about 10 rows for now but it is subject to change.

I know how to pull data from an access database and place it into a combobox, but I am trying to make certain that I dont have multiples of the same information.
Like one column is for countries of origin.
United States
Canada
Mexico
In the combo box, it should only list the United States only once, not multiple times.

DataGridView TIPs has TextBoxes and ComboBoxes in it and the data comes from an SQL table. I see how to get or set the cell values that come from the ComboBoxes using Item, but how do I access the actual ComboBox events and properties?

I want to create a search option.I have 3 text box with "name", "address", "phone number" on a form.what i want is when i start typing into the "name" textbox there should be a multicolum listbox with name and phone number,and as i type into the textbox the name should be searched into the listbox and highlited.when i select the name from the listbox the remaning textbox (address & phone number) should get the data accordingl from the database.if the name that i type into name textbox is not available in the listbox then i should get other two text box so that i can type the address and phone number and when i click save it (name, address, phone number) should be saved into the database.

i have never created one and the manual is to difficult to understansi want to create a listview as shown belowhow do i go about doing this,using laymans terms.I dragged a listview control onto the form, but then im stuck. how do you add columns (which are actually displayed on the control), i have added columns in the properties but they cant be seen in the listview.

I was generously guided by the community to use LINQ to find duplicates on my listboxes the last time around. However, I am now in a tough spot because I need to find and remove duplicates from a multicolumn list view. I tried using LINQ but it says that the listview object is not "queryable". Is there a way for me to find and remove duplicates using only one column of the listview? [code]The code now runs fine when I call it. But it does not remove the duplicates:

I would like to create a multicolumn list of items, similar to the right pane of the Windows Explorer window. There are rows, one for each item. And there are columns similar to the filename, size, date of last modification, etc. columns of Windows Explorer. The data supplied to the control will be individually extracted from files. (I mean, no database, no spreadsheet is available as a source.)
Question: Which control is the best for this purpose? I tried listbox, but it seems "multicolumn" means not what I'm used to in Excel VBA.

I am using a datareader to pull data from my database. I store the data in a multidimensional array in a seperate class file. I access the values in the array from a form through properties.The problem I am having is when I run the project as I step through the code I can see the values being added to the array but when access it from a string property it shows up as string System.String[,]. I would like to have my array transposed accross the listview under the corresponding column. below is the code I am using.

I got my regular fields like firstname,lastname, gender, birthyear, street, city, zip, phone. Which i can search through by just entering one of these fields.
Then i got a dropdown box which i was hoping to use a filter on. Every file is in a cabinet, but since those are somewhat alphabetically i have more then 1 cabinet for certain letters. This is why i wanted to use a filter to get a list of all people in a certain cabinet.
So i want my dropdownbox to automatically show the cabinets that are in the database(for example A...Z). If i choose B from the dropdownbox i want to see all the names that are in that cabinet in my datagridview.

I have an Access DB and I am using a combobox to retrieve info from joining two tables. Does anybody know how to auto fill a combobox as soon as the user types the first letters. I have Auto expand on, but what I want is the combobox to give me suggestions if theres 2 or more close matches. so for example. if we have "Oil Change" "Change Tires" "Inspection"; and if the user starts typing "ch" I want the first two records to show up.

What is the best way to populate a combobox from a database?I've looked at previous questions but they all seem more complex than my query.Data base table has just two columns, ItemId & ItemDiscription I just need itemId field to show in the combobox.

I have a combobox with whose contents get populated via code. Works ok. But When I select something in the list and hit 'OK' it always returns as: nothing, "", or -1 (tried with .selectedValue, .SelectedText, and .SelectedIndex respectively)

I am creating a form for entering technical data about a part into an Access database. In the same form I have several ComboBoxs that need to have their lists filled from the same reference table in my database. I have a number and unit field for the twist and bending radius properties. I made the unit fields ComboBoxes and I am trying to bind them to referance table in my database called UnitsLength. The relevant structure is as follows....
Form: NewPartForm
Database: CableDataSet
Main Table: PartMechanical - with fields: TwistNom, TwistUnits, BendingRadiusNom, BendingRadiusUnits
Reference Table: UnitsLength - with fields: Unit, Shorthand, Conversion Factor
First tired the following settings....
Data Source: Other Data Sources > NewPartForm List Instances > CableDatase
Display Member: UnitsLength.Shorthand
Value Member: UnitsLength.Unit
SelectedValue: PartMechanicalBindingSource > [The associated unit field]
But the lists didn't populate.... Then I tried these settings
Data Source: UnitsLengthBindingSource
Display Member: Shorthand
Value Member: Unit
SelectedValue: PartMechanicalBindingSource > [The associated unit field]
But now every ComboBox displays the same value but still stores the data in the proper field... it just sets them all the same.
