.net - Creating A Named Function Parameter Array?

Is it possible to create a routine in VB.NET with a name-based parameter array? The WebMethod attribute built into the framework is used exactly this way: WebMethod(BufferResponse:=False)
Specifically, I'd like to use it in a class' constructor. I'd like something similar to this:
New MyObject(id:=10,buffer:=True)
I'm not even sure what the terminology is for this kind of parameter list, so I can't even find it when searching.

I have a Sub with an array of strings as parameter:
Private Sub des(ByVal array() As String)
Dim i As Integer
For i = 0 To UBound(array)
[code]....
When I call the function inside my main function , the value of str changes even if the array is passed to the function Byval
Dim str() As String
str = {"11111", "22222", "33333", "44444", "5555", "66666"}
des(str)
I tried making a copy of the array in the Sub, but it still changes in the main function
Private Sub des(ByVal array() As String)
Dim i As Integer
Dim array2() As String

I read on a site that you cannot pass arrays ByVal ,is this true? If so , how should I proceed?

I am porting Excel VBA to VB.NET. I have a function that takes a selection of data, and it may be one dimensional or two. VBA code is quite fluid about using a variable as either a 1-D or 2-D array, but VB.NET marks it as an error.

I did this and no error or warning appears and when I run it only String[]Array appears in the listbox. can you help me fix this? I already have the logic down I am not sure how to fix this. My project is due tomorrow this is the only part I'm stuck on.

I am using a variation of Stanav's example from the previous post seen in Sub dd_Inhoud_Labels. The first 3 Subs (Add_Titel_Label, Add_Byskrif_Label & Add_Lewering_Label) is allso shown below so you can see what I am leading up to. Sub Add_Inhoud_Labels is not only responsible for creating labels but allso placing them acording to the location and size of the previos label and allso ather properties as Font and so on depending on the marker at the start of the text string saved in the data base.The problem I can not get solved is that only the last of the Inhoud Labels seem to be created, it seem to be in the correct location as last label as seen in the pic below

I don't know if this is the right place to start, but I'm using Visual Basic 2010. I'm doing the IMY Solution. Basically I'm calculating the new hours for each pay. The inputBox function allow users to enter the raise percentage. The problem for raise percentage is how can I set the name constant correctly. It asks to create a named constant for the "Raise percentage: " message.

i have 2 computers - a Server and a Client pc which is running on local area network with MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2008 R2 Developer kit at the main pc and Client computer will need to connect to SQL SERVER at main pc using connection string.Let me named server computer as 'MAGNA-PC' and the client pc as 'LAC-PC' and database name is 'db_referafriend' so the code for MAGNA-PC(server) connection string is:[code] i GOOGLE and YOUTUBE for almost 2 weeks before i post . I know that i need to configure the sql configuration manager and enable tcp/ip also add a new port at firewall to allow remote connection also add the sqlserver.exe and sqlbrowser in firewall and I have also chosen "Using both TCP/IP and named pipes" under Remote Connections in the SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration. and all of this doesnt work!

I need to execute a stored function in oracle or sql through vb.net. I created a command object. Depending on the database type(oracle or SQL) i am preparing the Command text as Select functionName(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?) from dual; (For Oracle) Adding the parameter values of the function. Now performing the ExecuteScalar which is not working saying invalid parameter. This works with ODBC connection string. But ODBC doesn't with 64bit. My Requirement: Code should execute a user defined stored procedure by taking the values at runtime.

I need to read a named range into an array. Then if the value in the 1st position matches a static value, read the value in the second position. I've been looking into array's and this is what I think will work, however I get a compile error on the columns.count "constant expression required". Is it because in the DIM statement I'm attempting 2 things? This is a macro in Excel. The range name is Data1 and the string comparison is "AnyString". The second value will be an integer.

I am trying to run my program to test it. Actually I am trying to run second form to see it that its working properly or not. But it shows me error. First time I got this error message:
"Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown"
& second time I got this one
"An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details.
The error is: Parameter is not valid."
By the way my program has 25 forms.

The following two statements seem the same to me but the first throws a design time error, and the second does not. The first one is passing the first parameter in hex and the second passes the first parameter as its decimal equivalent.

I have a Comma Separated value file in .txt format... simply put, its a bunch of data delimited by commas and text qualifier is separated with ""For example:
"So and so","1234","Blah Blah", "Foo","Bar","","","",""
"foofoo","barbar","etc.."
Where ever there is a carriage return it signifies a new row and every comma separates a new column from another.My next step is to go into VB.net and create an array using these values and having the commas serve as the delimeter and somehow making the array into a table where the text files' format matches the array After that array has been created, I need to select only certain parts of that array and store the value into a variable for later use.... how to make the array and selecting the certain info out of it..
