I have a panel that Iv added some groups to dynamically. Inside this same panel I have another panel that is NOT visible. I also added some groups to this panel. I placed a button "btnMoreLess" that sets the nested/hidden panel .visible = true however I never see it appear. If I unnest the panels it seems to work, but does not have the effect I am looking for. I want all these groups to be inside the main panel, and have scrolling enabled. The hidden panel is set to autosize so it wont scroll. My thought is that when the click "btnMoreLess" the additional groups will become unhidden and cause the scrollbar on the main panel to appear with all the additional groups. Perhaps there is another method to do this?
View 6 RepliesI have a panel sitting in a div, and I want to use that panel as a container to add more panels! Why would I want to add a panel to a panel? Because the panel that I'm adding to the existing panel, is also made to contain objects, but only and image and label.
The existing master container panel is created during design time, and goes by the lovely name of "toolboxpanel". During run time, I have a for/next loop that dynamically creates an image, a label, adds them both to a panel, then adds that panel to the toolboxpanel,[code]...
My application has a number of different users, currently there are different masterpages set up for them. The idea is for some type of breadcrumb in the system i.e. home > details > ...What is the best approach for this? I think I will need to define the separate paths that each user can have (all the pages they can view) in the Web.sitemap (will have multiple SiteMapPaths) and then add the sitemap control to masterpage and link them to the appropriate SiteMapPath, does this sound like the right way to approach this?
I am having an issue with setting up the SiteMapPath within the masterpage. I used the following tutorial http:[url]....aspx to try to use the control, but the SiteMapPath control is not displaying on the masterpage when I log in do you know what the problem might be?

I have a master page called SampleMaster.master and this page contains a Repeater control
The Repeater control will be used to display the relevant tags associated with each content page and the tags will vary between content pages
The data extraction method Tags.GetTags() is working but I do not know the best approach to populate the Repeater control in the master page dependent on what the content page is.
Would the code reside in the masterpage page code behind or the content page code behind?
I have JavaScript that works excellently but I need to change it to Update Panel and I can't get it to still work properly. What I want it to do is if it selects 1 in the first dropdown, pick c in the second dropdown. I am using asp.net vb.

This container is fixed, with headings above the split and a Panel control below it.I dynamically load my own user controls into the Panel control whenever the tree view changes.
Most of the user controls that are dynamically loaded have a DataGridView that should receive focus when the control is initialized. Sometimes this grid is on the UserControl surface directly; sometimes it's in a GroupBox; etc.What is the best way to programmatically set focus on the DataGridView control, given that it may placed within a variable number of control containers? I've tried the obvious - .Select, .Focus, .ActiveControl, etc. None of these seem to work - the TreeView item that I selected is still highlighted, and even though a record is selected in the DataGridView, it doesn't have focus.

I'm trying to make a label control transparent over a Panel control.However by setting the background colour of the label to Transparent, it actually sees right through to the form itself, not the panel as intended.
As an example we use a panel with a background as white, we make the label transparent, however it gets the form�s colour as blue.However, we are using a custom panel control and need the label to be transparent over the panel and not see the forms background.
I've got a Panel on a main Form containing a PictureBox control on Top of a TableLayout control. Both the child controls have their docking properties set to Top. The Picture control has sizemode set to Zoom.
What I'm finding is that the picture doesn't size properly when I start the app. There is a border at the top and bottom in the PictureBox control. It's only when I resize the overall form that it's correct.
So at the moment I've got this ugly bit of startup code, just to fix the problem Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized
What am I missing?
is it possible to make it so that you can use a button control to initate a drag movemnt of a panel control, that way you can click it move your mouse and when you click your mouse it will move the panel to what ever location you moved and clicked your mouse?

View 1 RepliesI've got three forms, one is a search form where you use textboxes to filter the datagridview to find the Client you wish to work on.The second form is basic data entry, their personal details, assets, liabilities, etc is entered on this form.The third form calculates all sorts of reports about the particular client.I filter the binding sources each time to get the appropriate clients data on the form when the particular client is chosen in the first form.When I go to print the word document I create at the button.click event, it comes up with an error saying "Conversion from string "" to type 'Integer' is not valid. I've checked countless times, tabbed in and out of the textbox, named ClientIDTextbox, but it still wont accept that there is a value in that textbox - the error is appearing on the line where I use the textbox to query data from the database using the ID in the textbox.The third form holds the print button, and the second form holds the ClientIDTextbox which is causing this error.
I'm about to try querying the binding source, instead of applying a filter, using ClientBindingSource.DataSource = dt where dt is a datatable. I'll let you know how this goes! But in the meantime, is it because I've filtered the binding source multiple times across forms that the error is appearing?

I keep getting the error shown in the screenshot below.To me it's saying that I haven't established the "UpdateCommand" property for the DataAdapter. However,I have established it as well as the "SelectCommand", "InsertCommand" and "DeleteCommand".All of these are created within a Class Module.I created a Class for the "tblControl" table that is is referencing. I'm receiving this message while trying to add a NEW client record as well as a NEW client Address record to the database. This portion works fine. I get the error message when I try to UPDATE the tblControl table with the new ClientID.
