[code] What I need is that under certain situations I want to be able to render a Button instead of the original control.But I want the Button to have the same client Id as the control so that I can use javascript to manipulate it.How do I assign a clientid to the button?

Now if I click the button it should open the iframe and display the message which I am able to do.Now the problem is how do I call the button1_Click event which is in the codebehind at the same time. I have used OnClick and OnClientClick event as shown below but it's not working and I'm not getting any errors.
ClientID Not Being Passed Through Forms Correctly
Dec 21, 2011I've got three forms, one is a search form where you use textboxes to filter the datagridview to find the Client you wish to work on.The second form is basic data entry, their personal details, assets, liabilities, etc is entered on this form.The third form calculates all sorts of reports about the particular client.I filter the binding sources each time to get the appropriate clients data on the form when the particular client is chosen in the first form.When I go to print the word document I create at the button.click event, it comes up with an error saying "Conversion from string "" to type 'Integer' is not valid. I've checked countless times, tabbed in and out of the textbox, named ClientIDTextbox, but it still wont accept that there is a value in that textbox - the error is appearing on the line where I use the textbox to query data from the database using the ID in the textbox.The third form holds the print button, and the second form holds the ClientIDTextbox which is causing this error.
I'm about to try querying the binding source, instead of applying a filter, using ClientBindingSource.DataSource = dt where dt is a datatable. I'll let you know how this goes! But in the meantime, is it because I've filtered the binding source multiple times across forms that the error is appearing?

May 22, 2009I have a gridview that is only shown in a modal popup. right before I call the modal popup I set a value in a textbox. The gridview inside the modal popup depends on that textbox's value for it's data to show up at all. SO onclick I want to reload the gridview so that it will reload with the textbox's value.

Sep 6, 2011I have a gridview in which I added some code for onclick in its RowdataBound event to allow the row to be clicked then go to another page.
I added a linkbutton in the last column which has the onclientclick to show a confirmation message whether to delete or not.
When I click the ok on the message, it performs my delete event. But when I click cancel, it goes to another page like what its supposed to do in the onclick.
What I am trying to do is this...
When I click the linkbutton cancel, it will perform the onclientclick to call a messagebox. If I choose cancel, I want it to not execute the onclick anymore.
I am using vb.net and asp.net in visual studio 2008. I am not sure whether this is the right forum or the asp.net.

Get The Error Message When UPDATE The TblControl Table With The New ClientID?
Mar 25, 2010I keep getting the error shown in the screenshot below.To me it's saying that I haven't established the "UpdateCommand" property for the DataAdapter. However,I have established it as well as the "SelectCommand", "InsertCommand" and "DeleteCommand".All of these are created within a Class Module.I created a Class for the "tblControl" table that is is referencing. This class contains all the properties for this table as well as calls for "inserting", "updating", "selecting" and "deleting" records.I have attached a class.vb file so their is a clearer understanding. After I've made a postback, the dialog shows up on every click. But when I'm callin the page without a postback, no dialog shows up and the page does its postback.

Apr 27, 2010I've noticed there is no OnClientClick() property for the radiobuttonlist in the ASP.NET control set. Is this a purposeful omissiong on Microsoft's part? Anyway, I've tried to add OnClick to the radio button list like so:

May 28, 2009I need to explicitly load my data source variables and then call the insert method associated with the data source. The sample VB .net code is listed below. So is it sufficient for me to just call the Insert() method when I am ready to insert my values? Or do I need to create an insert event? You see if I look at the properties window for the data source, there is a lightning bolt icon that will generate events for the data source such as Insert,Inserting,Disposing,Init,Load etc.

I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?

Jul 20, 2010I'm trying to validate a few things in a form I'm building. It has a datagrid with clients info (taken from an access database) and a few textboxes where the user can type some search criteria. The thing is that those same textboxes are used to add new clients to the database and to modify a client's information if one from the datagrid is selected, so I made it that the buttons to insert and modify clients are disabled on load and thenevery time the text on a textbox changes ("TextChanged" event) they become enabled. So far so good. But then I wanted to make it so when a client from the datagrid is selected both buttons become disabled again until the text on a textbox changes (to make sure they're adding a different client and not the same one that was
selected).
I tried using the CellClick event from the datagrid to disable the buttons, but since every time a client is selected from the datagrid the info is shown on the textboxes, this triggers the TextChanged event too, and the buttons become available.So, is there a way I can tell the TextChanged event not to be triggered when the CellClick event occurs?
