.net - Highlight Control In A Disabled Form Using Reflection?

I am using Reflection with VB.Net to get all the forms in a list box and all controls in another list box for the selected form in the first list box for any selected Assembly from any location.
On selection of any form and clicking the 'Open Form' button it opens that particular form in disable state.
But it throws exception as connection could not established(seems the load event of the form still fires which is not desired).
So now i want that the form should load in disable state without firing any event of it and also if any of the control will be selected then it will be highlighted in the form with a red border.

Is the a way for a ClickHandler to work IF the control is Enabled = False? Like for example to show a messagebox with the message "Unable to change this data".

I have this flexgrid which shows a different tooltip for every cell it contains. Now I would like to see this exact same tooltip for every cell when I put the flexgrid on enabled = false but I can't find a way to do this.

I set the HourGlass, disable the button (to avoid ppl that are too used with FPS games), do the serial communication bit that last a couple of seconds, then the set the mouse back to normal and re-enable the button.And I have a few more like those through the software using text boxes or drop-down menus.[code]My form is set in design time to be KeyPreview = True and I even tried to set it again after the Click. The routine is simply not called and the ESC key on the keyboard does not hide the form anymore.

does anyone know how to change the text color of a disabled checkbox control?I have drawn a black background on my form interface and a checkbox has been positioned on top of this background. When the checkbox has its enabled property set to false, the text cannot be seen at all ( so I assume the disabled text color is black ).Does anyone know how to change this color? I've tried changing the chkbox.forecolor property from within the program code but it didn't change the disabled text color :/

I am calling a login form from the base form. From the base form I disable it after i show the login form. Then from the login form I want to re-enable the base form that is disabled... I have set it to be enabled at the closing of the login form... doesn't work.. i have set it to be enabled through a collection and calling that base forms handle... doesn't work.. Anything that i might be overlooking?These forms are inside an MDI form..

is there anyway you can colour or highlight certian weeks in a calender control. for example i'd like to display the years calender and highlight all dates of holiday. the dates to be passed in code. just a general 'is this possible?' i know i've seen it on web sites when booking a hotel room the hightlighted days are full or empty, that kind of thing.

I have a rich text box that I want to show as un-editable and un-selectable text. If I set Read-Only to YES and Enabled to NO, then I get the desired effect...
...except disabling the control changes the background color to the washed out grey. I'd like to keep the background color white.

I am making a configuration screen so that an administrator can easily determine what controls on a form are enabled according to a combo selection.
I have created a table (SQL2008 DB) to store the settings and need ideas how I can best implement.
The session form will start up normal with only a few controls enabled to start, but then when the user selects a "session type" from a drop down combo then the form will be configured for that type. Because there may be several different combinations, and I do want to offer the user the ability to add and configure more types as needed I feel like this may be the best method instead of hard coding.
Table Structure
SessionType varchar(25) not null PK
ControlSwitch varchar(50) Not Null
(Edit: I may add an additional DB field so that I can specify the default value of a control also)
Now what I thought I would do on the config form is have a series of combo boxes and the label represent each control with a value of True or False, then when saved it builds a string like example 1,1,0,1,0,1,1,1 or True, True, False etc.
The string would represent
ctrl1=on, ctrl2=on,ctrl3=off,ctrl4=on,ctrl5=off,ctrl6=on,ctrl7=on,ctrl8=on and so on.

I have a webbrowser control & a treeview control...once I load a website I create a HTML DOM tree representation of the website using the code below...What I want to do now, is the following:mouse over any HTML element, which will then select the corresponding tree node on the HTML DOM Tree select any tree node and have the corresponding HTML element highlight, with a red border around it?

Alright, I have form, with multiple buttons on it. I want it so when I Click on the Button that Says START it will Change to STOP but at the same time Enable all the Disabled Buttons on the Form. ATM I have this.

I have a form1 with a splitcontainer. I have put a button on the left panel, whenever user click the button, form2 will be displayed in the right panel.The question now is, i am not allowed to highlight the textbox in form2 with mouse. But i still can use the keyboard to highlight.
1) Replace textbox with richtextbox
2) set formborderstyle to Windows.Forms.FormBorderStyle.None.

The following code works perfectly to allow moving a control on a form at run-time. However, when AutoScroll is set to True on Form1, and you drag Button1 past the right and/or bottom bounds of the form, it goes haywire. I've got a Panel on a main Form containing a PictureBox control on Top of a TableLayout control. Both the child controls have their docking properties set to Top. The Picture control has sizemode set to Zoom.
What I'm finding is that the picture doesn't size properly when I start the app. There is a border at the top and bottom in the PictureBox control. It's only when I resize the overall form that it's correct.
So at the moment I've got this ugly bit of startup code, just to fix the problem Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized
What am I missing?
