.net - LINQ Query For Filter By Selected Items In Checkbox List?
Jun 30, 2011
Could not find this through Google or in SO questions.I have a checkbox listbox on my form. I want to filter my List by the list of selected Ids from that listbox that are checked, in SQL I would have done this like "Where TypeId In (1, 4, 5, 7)"... how do I do that in LINQ?
I feel like I am missing a really obvious answer, but cannot get it.
For argument sake... here is the what I have for sample data:
I've got a datacontext and created a binding source using LINQ to sql but cannot filter said bindingsource. The supportsfilter of the bindingsource is set to false ? why ? I can't find any info to say that I cannot filter a binding source based on a linq query.[code]
I am trying to write a query for an existing database, I am using LINQ on EF3.5 inside VS2008 as that is the only environment available to me.I have a starter query that gives me a list of items so the user can select what they want.
"e.Result = From c In MLDb.TBL_FeatureInfoSet Order By c.INSP_ROUTINE_NM Select c.INSP_ROUTINE_NM Distinct"
The user can then select from the list one or several items they are intersted in and i want to use these as the filter in a further database call. It's not then difficult to have a where to filter on one string however, I would also like to be able to allow the user to select several items from the list box and the data for all of those to be returned.
In my datagridview there are two dependent columns, one is category and the other is items. So I want to filter my item column list as per selected category. But the problem is that when I change the category wise data to datasource of items combobox, previous selected items names disappear because previous items is not in current datasource.
This program is supposed to allow the user to check items in a checked list box. If the item is checked, it goes into the Completed List Box on the right. The program then adds the unchecked items to the Pending list box on the left. I keep getting placement values (e.g. O,1,2) instead of the strings (e.g. "Key Returned") in the list box results (see photo attached)
Public Class frmCheckOut Dim i As Integer Dim cleaning As String = "Cleaning Inspection" Dim damage As String = "Damage Repaired"
I have two generic lists, named ListA and ListB. Both ListA and ListB could potentially have duplicate items. What I would like to do is use LINQ to grab the items in ListB that are not in ListA, but I'm unsure how to do so.
I have an invoice that lists several items that one person has ordered. I want to take this invoice and every time I check the item it removes one of those from another list i created called item details. I added items to this list using the item collection in the listbox.. I have invoice one that has a pink sock ordered. when i clicked this box next to it I want my total pink socks of 12 to move down to 11... the detail page and the invoice are two separate pages.
Dim query = From o In myContainer.MyObjects Select o.MyStringProperty Distinct Dim myProperties As List(Of String) = query.ToList????? 'no way!!!' "query" type is IEnumerable(Of String)
I tried to use the query directly as a DataSource of a (infragistic) combobox, but it throws me NullReferenceException, so I decided to convert it to a listof strings, to be a more "classical" datasource.
Dim values As List(Of String) = query.AsQueryable().ToList() does not work either: Value of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List(Of System.Linq.IQueryable(Of String))' cannot be converted to 'System.Collections.Generic.List(Of String)'.
so im dynamically populating a checkbox list. I have confirmed that my text and values are correct for each checkbox but when I check a few and click my event button when I loop through the items they are all set to select=false...
Dim resource As ListItem Dim SelectedHashTable As New Hashtable For Each resource In chkResources.Items
How do you count the amount of values in a list box that are selected, rather than all of those within the list box? I need to get the number and then make it a string. Once i have the number i can change this easily to a string
Dim l as IList(Of Foo) = (From dataRow As DataRow In table.Select() Where CStr(dataRow("Column1")) = "A" Select New Foo(CStr(dataRow("Column1")), _ CStr(dataRow("Column2")))).ToList()
What's happening is that if i set a break-point to the constructor of Foo and step, the constructor is hit and the parameters are loaded with the arguments. However, l has empty Foo objects (the members in every object are Nothing). What could be happening here?
I am using a path comparison to find any children tags which works well when there is only 1 tag selected. This is my code for when multiples tags are selected but it is not working. Can you point me in the right direction?
Single Tag Selection (working) Dim tagpath = uxTags.SelectedItem.Text lnqCases = From i In lnqCases Where i.HelpDeskTagItems.Any(Function(x)
I have got an xml document which looks something like this.
<Root> <Info> </Info> <Info>
[Code]...
How can i write a linqToXML query so that it returns me an IEnumerable containing each child element, in this case all five child elements of , so that i could iterate over them. The order of child elements is not definite, neither is number of times the may appear.
If I use a LINQ query over some type of collection, is there any way to know the initial index of an element of the result?
Purpose: I make a query to set as source of a DataGridView, and on a (button)cellclick event I want to a call a method that needs to reference the collection at the correct index.
how to get the selected items from a check list box...i have 7 items in it, need to see which ones are selected...and how to clear the checks from the list box?
I've got a Checked List Box full of PC names that the user can check. I've also got a Combo Box that lists the location of the PCs - if the user chooses one of the locations in the Combo Box, it automatically selects all of the PCs in the Checked List Box that are at that location.
However, if that group of PCs are way down the list in the Checked List Box, you can't immediately see that they were checked.I'd like to know if there was a way to have the application automatically scroll/jump down to the area of the Checked List Box containing the PC's that were just checked.
