.net - Refresh DataGridView After Data Inserted In DB By Another Dialog

On my Winforms app, I have a primary form with a DataGridView bound to a database Entity datasource.
The grid is set up not to allow inserts. Instead I have a button on my form that kicks of a second dialog where the insert takes place (ie. with friendlier ui than is possible with the DataGridView).
The insert is working fine.. query of the underlying table in db shows that the record has been inserted. However, I can't seem to get the DataGridView on the primary form to see the new data just created by the second dialog.
I have read many Stack Overflow q & a's and tried various solutions to get the DataGridView to refresh to show new data.. but nothing works.
This must be a common situation ?? Can someone suggest some VB.NET code that will work ?

I have an Access database that is updated directly in Access. I'm trying to write a program to 'monitor' the database, and have a DataGridView control showing the contents. When the program is first started, it shows the current data in the DB fine, however, I've been unable to get it to refresh with any updated data from the mdb file. I have a timer running on 5 second intervals, and if i clear the dataset, the DataGridView refreshes to empty.

I have a long running process running in a backgroundworker, and want it to report progress to the user, and update a checked listbox as the items are discovered. The reportprogress is called, and the statements executed (placing a break in the reportprogress routine), I can see the control valuse change, but the change is not reflected in the dialog. How would I delete only the successful inserted rows for insert and then move the non successful rows up and allow the user to correct the data and get it ready for an insert. If I dont delete the successful rows then I will have multiple inserts of the same dataRow and we dont want that! And if I don't move the data up then it will have blank rows uptop and will end the try and not insert the corrected data. You can better see what logic I am trying to perform at the bottom of my code, right after I insert into the database.

I have a issue with my DataGridView. It's bound to a DataTable at form load. I have a sub wich handles data recieved from a serialport. Inside that sub I'm adding a row to my datatable. That works fine, but to make the row visible in my datagridview, I have to either click on the row, resize the form so that the DGV dissapears and then appears again, manually call DataGridView.refresh or something like that. Why isn't the DataGridView automatically redrawn when a row is added inside a sub like that? One solution is to add a timer where DataGridView.refresh is executed every second, but it doesn't seem like a good idea

I am running Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008.
I would like to dynamically refresh my report based on a parameter.
For instance, I'll have a customer contract and I want to switch between customers based on a VB.NET winform button click.
I was expecting the code below to work, but I keep getting the "Enter Parameter Values" dialog box, why isn't it using the parameter value that I just set it?

Please take a look at the code below. I was told by the individual that developed itoriginally that the code only adds the rows of data the user entered. In other words,there 5 rows of textboxes. user can enter data into one row or into all 5 rows. If the user enters data into one row of textbox, that's what gets inserted into the db.I made some minor change to the code so that users can tell when a payment is made by check or cash payment.Since I made that change, whether a user enters data into one row or all 5 rows, all 5 rows get inserted into the db.How can I modify this code to ensure only rows entered get inserted?

I am trying to use the eID SDK (for using the belgian ID-card) in VB. It's supported but I can't get it to work. I have never worked with sdk's before. I did manage to get it to work in c++ in console but I really need it in visual basic. Also the VB examples that come with the sdk are made in an older version of visual studio and when my version tries to convert them they don't work. I want to use the sdk to see when a card is inserted into the reader and to read out the data. (both i got to work in c++ console).

I have an issue with a data table that I have updated using the datatable.update command.The datatable is bound to the datagridview using dgv.datasource = datatable.I have used INSERT and UPDATE commands and the INSERT command writes the data back to the database ok. However my problem is that it the dgv is not updated with the primary key (ID field) from the database. So when I save a second time, instead of updating it just inserts the data again.

When I have inserted a row to the "data grid view", it inserts it with no problems, except you cannot see it because it's out of the window's bounds. There are scroll bars that you can use to scroll to the row you had inserted, but, my question is: is there a way that the "data grid view" can scroll to the inserted row?

I created two tables(FIRSTtable and SECONDtable) in the mysql database and two tables that are related.[code]...
Relations between the two tables using the product_id column with UpdateCascade and DeleteCascade. Both relationships are functioning normally when I try with the sql script. Suppose I delete all product_id in the FIRST table, all existing data in the SECOND table will be deleted.
Both of these tables displayed in datagridview. When I delete all the data in the FIRST table, the all rows in datagridview FIRST table will be deleted, also the data in mysql the FIRST table will be deleted.
I try to open the mysql database, the data are in SECOND Table also deleted, the problem why the view that in the second datagridview, can not be deleted, still keep the previous data? How to refresh datagridview binding in vb.net or C#? [code]...
