.net - Using A Handler To Render An Image From A Blob On An ASP.NET Page - Can't Get It
Aug 29, 2009
I'm working on a simple image tagging and searching app. I've got my images uploading to the DB, the tags being applied, but am failing when I pull them back - the images don't render. I found this here on SO, but I'm not able to get it working.
I am having an asp.net page which i was showing as a pop up using Nyromodel. the page contains
4 div which is showing as Tabs (using Jquery Tabs). 4 Repeater . Each repeater I am having a custom control and I am setting the value from db by setting the datasource to repeater. (This query may have 300-500 rows). 1 infragistics UltraWebGrid. I add selected values to the grid.
So the problem is it is taking too much time to render if I perform any operation in that UI. I logged the sp execution time, then I found that SP i taking only 2-3 seconds. But the control will render completely after 30-40 seconds. So sp execution time alone is not enough to satisfy the my lead. how to analysis the time of rendering the control.
I have the following code below. I am reading a BLOB image from database, but when I try to display it in the picture box I am getting the 'Parameter is
I have a project where the user wants an image stored in a Blob field of a MYSql database. I have been searching for info on the net but so far have not found a good solution for this.In this case the record will already exist in the database and I will need to insert the image into the existing record based on the recordid. Is there a simple way to do this perhaps with a stored procedure and an execute statement. I have very little experience with MySql and little with storing images in a database as well. Most often I will store the images as files and use a pointer in the db record but this user wants it in the db so here we are.
im trying to upload my image to my database. I've searched and found a way to do this by uploading the image as a blob to the database. On the field IMG on my Database I have set it to BLOB. how can I send a image to the field?
PS. I tried
vb.net Dim sqlquery = "INSERT INTO `decap`.`test` (`MD5`,`img` ,`value`)" _ & "VALUES ('C20E743343GDG'," & (OpenFileDialog1.FileName) & " ,'0')"
I'm trying to zip a file that is stored on SQL Server as a blob image field and when downloading the zip file it says the file is corrupted.. or the file will open but contains some crazy characters. I've tried WinRAR and 7zip and no luck. I checked out [URL] and tried to kind of combine the browser attachment code and the memorystream/byte array code and no luck.
Here is my code snippet: Try BinData = DirectCast(dt.Rows(0)("ImageField"), Byte()) Catch ex As Exception End Try Dim blen As Integer = BinData.Length [Code] .....
I'm trying to, for example: Have a button control, and a picturebox(?) control. I need to figure out a way to make the Picturebox image the current snapshot of the Button. Is this possible? Should I be using WPF or something?
I have a set of files of various format like pdf, txt, tiff, jpg.I need to render it within the form and highlight the certain keywords.Initially i tried to convert all files to pdf and then render it( using itext for vb.net).Now my colleague advised me to render them as html or images, saying it might make the process easier.

Everyting is OK, but when I click on F5, it refresh the page and run the code another time. This means a new record is added to the data base on each F5.This is my code, do you have any advices?

For several days now I've been messing around with Ajax calls using different combinations of javascript, ASP controls, and regular controls. I've gotten a bit of understanding about what's going on, but using ASP controls still hides too much of the machinery, and I want to have a deeper understanding. With that aim, can anyone tell me why the following setup doesn't quite work?I have a file "Testy.aspx" with the following:[code].....
So, I hoped to make my .aspx file do double-duty both as the regular-page request handler as well as the Ajax request handler. However, when I click the button ("baroo") to generate the Ajax request, the result that ends up written back to the "testytext" div is the raw html for the entire page, as if under normal request conditions. Clearly, my attempt to override the page request by making the code-behind implement IHttpHandler and supplying an "Overrides Sub ProcessRequest" method is not working. The server is still treating the Ajax request as a normal request, and in fact my own "ProcessRequest" method is never even called. Is it possible to build a page/handler like this? How can I intercept the incoming request from the client and respond accordingly? This is how Ajax works, right? So it must be possible.Again, I'm deliberately doing this as an excercise to avoid the use of "magic" ASP controls like UpdatePanels,
I have created a WebBrowser and I want to catch the page that says "This program cannot display the webpage " instead of loading that page I want to display my own html code for that error. And also to catch error when loading an html page from a disk which is not present at all. (file not found)
i am wanting to add handler for controls i add at Page_load at page load i added several image buttons and applied the image urls using -i used the borderwidth propertiy for padding as was having trouble getting a cssclass to work. [code] what i want these Image button to do is when clicked a larger image in another panel will appear so i will need to assign the clicked buttons image url to the large image controls, image url
My current problem, as stated in the title, is that I am trying to create a series of buttons from a custom class within app_code and place them on a master page. The whole reason for this is I do not want to have to copy and paste event handlers on the content pages.
However, upon the click of these buttons I need for a method on the content page to be called and update html within a div of the content page.Is there any way to accomplish updating the div of the content page from an event handler in the custom class? Remember, the method that updates the div exists on the content page.
I am trying to learn Visual Basic and am working through a text book that my son used for a class. Each time I create an event handler by double clicking on the design page, the code that automatically populates is almost identical to the code in the book, except the byval portion is omitted from the code.[code]
I have a windows application that has a tab control with 5 different tabs. Each of these tabs has a datagrid view that is populated with data on form load with data from SQL Server. I have an event handler for the datagrids for CellValueChanged that appends an asterisk, "*" to the tab, when a change is made, this is meant to mimic the same behavior in VS or SSMS. The issue that I have just realized is that on page load as the datagrids are populated this event handler is raised thousand of times. I have included an If Then statement to exit the sub if it occurs during page load, but am concerned about the performance implications, if any. Is there a better way to handle such functionality? Possibly a way to ignore the event handler on form load? If not is there a negative impact leaving this functionality in?
I am trying to use itextsharp to take dynamic information and generate a PDF with it.. The PDF's use a background Image on each page which is different and the text content is positioned where it needs to be using the contentByte helper. Thats the plan anyways. I hit a hang up when I tried to add another page and then drop the image and text onto that page... My first page ends up with the image that should be on my second page and the first page image fails to display at all on either page... My code so far is as follows:
Function ID_and_Parking(ByVal id As Integer) As ActionResult Dim _reg_info As reg_info = db.reg_info.Single(Function(r) r.id = id) Dim _conf_info As conf_info = db.conf_info.Single
Is it possible to assign the MouseDown event handler or equivalent to an image (from ImageList) of a tabcontrol without using OwnerDraw? I can add images to tabs through ImageList. And I can draw something that looks like a close button on each tab, using OwnerDraw. But I notice that the tab sizes will be fixed regardless of the tab labels. I want the tab sizes to be flexible with the labels. For now, the second best alternative to assign events to tabs seems to be use of contextual menus. But it's true that some people just don't want to right-button-click on tabs. And I have seen a project where somebody uses a 32-bit library declare. And I can't use it because I only develop 64-bit apps.
I'm currently battling to retrieve an image from SQL Server 2008 R2 in an asp webapplication using vb.net. The image is stored in the SQL Server 2008 R2 database as an image type. I've been researching for the past few days and can't seem to find anything solid on this topic. Apparently, the image has to be retrieved using
Imagine a have a painting program with a PictureBox, which I can paint on.I would like to have the ability to press "Next Page", and the program shall store my current image/page as "Page#" (where # is the number), and create a new one, which I can draw on. I should then be able to click "Previous Page", and get my previous image/page (in this case, "Page1"), and be able to edit/view that.So I have a PictureBox which is the "viewer", and then I have a lot of images, which are the pages. The way I would do it, is that I would store them locally as files, and call them "Page1", "Page2" and etc. in a folder. But I would assume, that this will require a bit processing power, and slow down the program - it will also cause problems, if for example "Page3" would be deleted - then the current "Page4" should be renamed to "Page3" and etc and etc.[code]
I have the code of a web page and it contains lots of "divs" with backgroud images like this:style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(/images/image1.jpg)"Is there an easy way in VB.NET to get all the URLs from bg images from the page?

I am trying to print an image (from file) to a the printer using a PrintDocument.I am re-sizing my image so that it is scaled to be full page on the printout when I print this the image is cropped slightly.
EDIT 2:I am using the margins to calculate the area to use:
With printSettings.DefaultPageSettings Dim areaWidth As Single = .Bounds.Width - .Margins.Left - .Margins.Right Dim areaHeight As Single = .Bounds.Height - .Margins.Top - .Margins.Bottom End With
The bounds of the page are 1169x827 (A4) and with the margins it is 1137x795.After resize my image size is 1092x682 and I am using the following code to draw it:
The annoying thing is that when I print to the PrintPreviewDialog it is scaled perfectly but when I print the exact same code to the actual printer it does not fit.
EDIT 3:Full code can be found at this url Usage:
Dim clsPrint As New clsPrinting With clsPrint .Landscape = True

I'm building a project with VS 2010, a part of this is an automated tax submit through webbrowser control.Although i manage to make it work with 12 different pages i have a problem with one particular page that must be scripted or something (don't know much about web development).
