Radio Button Group For The User To Choose Entry Temperature Type?
Jan 22, 2012
I need to have 4 text boxes and three command buttons. One button should be used for exiting the program, one button should be used for clearing all of the text boxes, and the last button should be used for any calculations/conversions. You should also have a radio button group for the user to choose entry temperature type.
One text box should be used for the entry of an initial temperature. The radio button group will then allow the user to select the entry temperature. When the button is clicked for conversion, the other three text boxes will populate with answers to the conversion. and if I enter 37 degrees Fahrenheit, the Fahrenheit text box should read 37 after the conversion.)
I've written a program that brings up a form with some radio buttons for the user to choose. The form is setup by a sub in module1 (called Type2Q, shown below). For some reason, often radiobutton1 is checked when the question appears.I specifically set checked to false since I did not want this to happen. [code]
I am making this thing to fool around, and it has a couple radio buttons, and a "apply" button...
Radio1 say's "A", radio 2 say's "B", and radio 3 say's "C".
All I want to happen is when I choose one of the radio buttons, and press the APPLY button, and I have notepad.exe open, it calls the keyboard key A,B, or C to be pressed. give me an example of keypress? Like IF I PRESS THE KEY 6(^), THEN....
Ok so I can't figure out how to make it so that on my application users cannot just click "submit" without choosing a radio/option button & filling out the username + password field ?? Using VB 08 BTW.
I have a Form which has several questions - each question is answered (bythe user) by choosing between 2 options - each option represented by a Radio Button. I have six questions and hence 12 radio buttons on my page but all of them seem to belong to the same group - i.e., the user can select only one of the 12 buttons whereas I want the user to be able to select one from every pair of radio buttons.
I have a radio button group with the name of EmpStatus.I inserted the result of the radio button selection to the sql table with this code:[code]If any body knows what would be the code to be able to update the table on profile edit save button click
How do i checked that within a GroupBox 1 radio button has been selected? I want to provide the user with a message box telling them they have not made a selection from one of the 12 radiobuttons within the group box?
I seem to be having trouble getting group boxes to appear when I click a radio button.
For example:
If radiobutton1.Checked Then Groupbox1.Visible = True Groupbox2.Visible = False Groupbox3.Visible = False Groupbox4.Visible = False End If
This indeed brings up the first radio button however I have other groupboxes underneath which with the same code will not appear when the radio button is checked.
Eg:
If radiobutton2.Checked Then Groupbox2.Visible = True Groupbox1.Visible = False Groupbox3.Visible = False Groupbox4.Visible = False End If
The second groupbox does not appear and is directly behind the first groupbox.
I would like to make a groupbox readonly by using a radio button, how can i make the readonly command an expression as i have this so far If radioButton1.Checked Then groupBox = ReadOnly is there a namespace that needs to precede ReadOnly? If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room
I have a WinForms application (VS 2008, .NET 3.5) that has a form with two different group boxes, and inside of each group box are different sets of radio buttons. When I run the application, the first group box automatically has the first radio button in it already selected, and the second group box does not have a radio button selected by default.
I have looked through all the properties of the radio buttons and the group boxes, and cannot figure out what the difference is between the two.I would like both group boxes to have all radio buttons unselected when the form is first opened. Also, I looked through the Designer.vb file for the form, and could not find anything unusual going on in there either.
I have DateTimePicker where user can choose a date and make entry. I then record this entry into the database. My application date shows 08-02-2012 (i.e., 08 february 2012 in DTPicker value), when I select this and insert it to my database, the MS Access takes this as August, 2 2012, and records it as the same.
I could fix this by using this code: Dim mydate As DateTime mydate = Me.dtpicker10.Value.ToShortDateString Dim output1 As String = Format(mydate, "MM-dd-yyy") and pass sql insert query using insert into table (mydate) VALUES (#" & output1 & "#)
Instead of getting the value directly from the dtpicker. This fix the issues, but when I tried to get the date out of the database to filter it between entry made in certain date, I sometimes have problem. How do I generalize this for all type of client computers where the date and time settings can be any form. What will be the best and more flawless ways of approach to target all types of clients? Am I on the right track?
This is what I have so far for the following scenario: I want to have it so that if a users clicks submit without checking a check box from one section it throws up a dialog box that makes the process loop and give them a chance to check a box. The process wont continue until at least one check box is checked. The same thing above goes for my radio buttons as well. Here's my code:
i have problem that i know once someone answers, i will kick myself, but here goes. i need to move the text next to the radio button to the left of the radio button, that part is easy just make sure the the "right to left" is maked yes, got it. but, the problem is i am making a seating chart and the seats are labeled 10-a, 10-b etc.... when the right to left is set to yes my text reverses and becomes a-10 and i can't seem to figure out what is set in the properties the is causing the alpha to be placed before the numeric.
i have one label one button and 5 textboxes and i need to see in the label one number that randomly will choose from numbers that allready are in a group of 5 textboxes
trying to write a simple form for calculating professor's salaries depending on their degree and position.my problem is that the when i select a check box, the value is not being updated until i select a different radio button. it probably doesn't make much sense here,
Public Class frmMain Private Sub optLecturer_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles optLecturer.CheckedChanged[code]....
the values being assigned to my salary label are correct, but are not being updated until i select a new radio button. im not entirely sure how to get around this so that the value is updated as soon as i select the check box.here's when the program looks like:
I'm trying to match up a specific group name and see if it exists for the currently logged in user using Active Directory roles. If the Group Name exists for the Current User, I want that group name to be displayed in a drop down list. Example: If current user is in BIG Group, display BIG in drop down list.Problem: All I am getting is SIDs and I'm not able to get anything to match up to the group name and nothing will show up in the drop down list.I also get the following Error:Error: Object variable or WIth block variable not set.How do I fix this?? here is the code I am using:
Private Sub GetMarketingCompanies() ' code to populate marketing company drop down list based on the current logged in users active directory group that
How do i create a group of Radio Buttons? so they all act as one group and i'll be able to get the selected value of the group and not by checking them one by one.
I am trying to get 2 group boxes with radio buttons. I would like to check a radio button in group box 1 and have a corresponding radio button in group set 2 get automatically checked based on what I check in group box1. I am trying to do this in VB.
I want to group RB1 and RBo1 and RB2 and RBo2, but when I add the radio buttons to the different panels they group each other. I tried adding RB1 and RBo2 to the same GroupBox but could not achieve the goal either. Is it possible to manually link the radio buttons?
I would like to have a single subroutine to service a group of radio buttons. I am interested in .CheckedChanged event. Right now, if I bunch them all into one routine, it gets called twice. One for the button that is checked and one for the button that is unchecked.
I am having trouble coming up with a way to add a selected radio button in a selected group box together.I have 3 group boxes each accessed by a checkbox within each group box there is 3 to 4 radio buttons. I would like to know how to add the selected radio buttons in each group box together and display them in a textbox by clicking a button "calculate". I believe I would have to make a global variable but I dont know where to start.
Private Sub Calculate_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Calculatebtn.Click Dim answer As String
[code]....
I know this code is wrong but I was just trying to remember the calculate function. Is there a command that uses the selected radio button from the group boxes then I would be able to input that into my calculate button sub?
How can I set a verification that something is checked in a set of radio buttons within a group box? So... groupbox1 has rad1, rad2, rad3. I want to verify that at least one of them is checked. I was going to do a select case, but I can't figure the syntax for the cases... Visual Studio 2008, btw
I understand because it has to be ON/OFF it won't go through to any other radio buttons in the group box. Would the best way is to use a hidden radio button that would switch control between the two? There's only two radio buttons i need to tab through, what's the best way to tackle this?
I am attempting to make the transition from VB6 to .net
I have a group box with 6 radio buttons. I want to perform a function when 1 of those buttons are clicked.
In VB6, I would have set up a control array and ran the routine when the array was clicked....but I am struggling with .net here, since there appears to not be control arrays at design time.
Is there 1 even I can use, or do I have to go into each radio button and code the individual event?
I am trying to create a data entry system for a local community group. I am working with VB.NET 2010 and MSAcess 2000. I am completely new to using a DB in VB.Net. I have created a form with the membership table bound as details on the form and the classes they are attending as a DataGridView. I used all the Visual Studio GUI tools for this. It was reasonably straightforward once I got the hang of things. My problems arise when I try to ensure that a user cannot move to a new record or create a new member without first saving any changes they have made.
I am using ColumnChanging events in the ...DataSet.vb class to set flags to indicate whether any data values have been changed on the form. My problem is that the ColumnChanging events for the classes DGV fire immediately on changing the data whereas the ones for the member details don't fire until I start to move to a new record. I don't know if it is important but my member navigation is achieved by means of a combobox on the form that lists the member names from the table. I have absolutely no idea why this works - it just did; the form updates as soon as the user selects a new member in the combo box.
