VS 2008 Question From A N00b Searching Arrays?
May 1, 2009First (and probably not the last) post. My Problem I would like to search an array for a certain text (this has been read in from a text file (42 lines) and split to an array of 11 splits successfully). I see all the data in the array with a msgbox or written to a textbox. So I know the info is in the array.
When the text (will be from a textbox eventually, but for now is a fixed string) is found, (this is (0)), I would like to put the other parts (2), (3) etc.....into strings of their own. Obviously when not found, the search should move to the next line. My problem is, that I can't get a search loop working and moving to the next line until the text is found, it sticks on the first line, even if wrong (which it is!).
Of course when the text is found, I can write (2), (3) etc to variables and exit the search.
I know this has probably just a simple solution, but I've only been learning vb for a week now and my head is spinning at this problem, I just can't get the syntax and order right.

Oct 14, 2010VB6 application MDI-Child architecture. Closing event is handled via QueryUnload event in both MDI and child form. Order of event trigger is MDI form closing(QueryUnload) event fires first followed by child form closing event(QueryUnload, I would like to call it as FormClosing itself as it is more comfortable and correct)Now after migration, order of event trigger is occuring in reverse. Child form closing event is firing first followed by MDI form closing event. We want to reverse the event triggering badly because of the logic written inside the closing events. Swapping the logic inside the events is not a viable option considering the huge changes we need to make (we have 31 vbprojects with 31 MDI forms and numerous child forms).
How I can make the MDI's closing event to be triggered first before child's closing event?
Bypass Validating Event For Exit Button?
Jan 31, 2009I have a validating event for a txtbox called txtname. If the user tries to leave txtname for another txt box without entering their name a messagebox comes up giving an error. I have an exit button which will when clicked ask you if you really want to leave then you can choose yes or no. I can't seem to figure out how to allow the user to click the exit button while leaving the txtname blank so it would bypass the error message and only bring up the exit prompt. Here's what I have coded for the validating event and the exit event.

Aug 10, 2009I imported an app from vb6 to vb.net It works fine. It has one axmsflexgrid control. Now I want to add another axmsflexgrid control in the same app. I tried to copy and paste from one frame (groupbox) to another and got this error:

Aug 9, 2011I'm using Visual Studio Development Server (Visual Basic 2010) and it works fine. Now I've enabled NTLM Authorization because I want to test the website using a different user account. Now when I try to access the website I always get the following error page:
Server Error in '/' Application.
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden.
Version Information: ASP.NET Development Server 10.0.0.0 .I'm using a test account which is a normal user within our domain. I've already set the access rights in my project folder to Full Access for this user but it does not help.
