3 Classes - A Form That Has A Button Push That Calls Another Class (Runit)
Aug 5, 2010
I have 3 classes: A form that has a button push that calls another class (Runit) to do work. The "Runit" class. It bulids a collection of process classes (see below) and launches them as threads A process class that increments a variable. This is used to build the object that is "collected" in the Runit class.
Here's the code for each. Note that I misnamed ProcessClass. It would be better named ThreadClass, as it contains the Sub that is to be the target of a threaded execution:
Public Class NT_Test
Public Const NUM_THREADS = 3
Public RC As New RunClass
Public Processes As New Collection
[code]...
The way this code looks to me is that when I trace into bDone (it used to be a boolean), I should see "1" on each pass (NUM_THREADS = 3; the size of the collection). What I'm seeing that mystifies me is "3" in all 3 members of the collection. Because of the initial loop, I might expect 1, 2, 3 respectively if either the thread did not update or I was passing through the same block in as opposed to distinct members of a collection. I can upload the project if that would be helpful. I didn't do so only because I edited a bunch of commented code out of this version that I've used for other experiments.
I am making a small game of pong and i want to incorporate a pause feature. is there a way i could freeze the form in place and then unfreeze it later at the push of a button. the tutorial i used is below so check it out to get an idea of what i've made so far.
So I need to make a windows form where it has a button to push and a label. There needs to be a list of 10 words/phrases. And when the button is pushed a random word/phrase is put into the text of the label. I have a section of code/psudo code but it keeps saying I am missing declarations when I try to run the program in debug...
Public Class Form1 'to make the list of different hello world languages Dim strHello(0 To 6) As String Dim blDimensioned As Boolean Dim strText As String [Code] .....
The errors all seem to be declarations for the lines of the array (strHello(x) = "xxxxx xxxxx")... What declaration am I missing? and how do I make the list give a random response to change the label text?
I have a form with a text box and a form with a list box. I would like to be able to push a button on the form with the text box and have it be added to a list box.
Basically we have migrated our application from VB6 to .NET and used same API calls in .NET as well.
Now the time has come to replace all API calls to .NET framework classes.
We used those API calls to validate textboxes by popping up a temporary error message box next to textbox object. After few seconds, the error message box disappears by itself or on loosing the focus of textbox.
If we can use the similar functionality of .NET, then there will be less code changes
2. FunctionLayer -deals with Common Operations which get results from DataLayer and return results to Forms.3. User - deals with User. (For Reusing the User Class in other projects, i have separated this class)Here in Class2 - I have an instance of Class1( ie., DataLayer) for DB Operations.imilarly in Class3- I have an instance of Class1( ie., DataLayer) for DB Operations. Now in my form, If i create Instance of Class2. But When I need user functionality in this form, I have to create an instance of Class3 to this form.
How can I structure my classes so that the user interfaces though a single class while the supporting classes are hidden from their view? I think its best understood in an example:
Public Class MyInterface Public Economic as EconomicClass Public Sub New() MyBase.New()
[code].....
So you might ask why am I even separating them? It's strictly for others who will be working with this interface. I need to funnel them though a logical structure:
This way everything is already handled for them in the background and they only need to run the method they need. I don't know if I can have it both ways in VB.NET.
I'm making kind of home autmation system with a usb interface card.8 digital & 8 analog inputs and 8 digital & 8 analog outputs. The status of the inputs is refreshed with a timer.tick and written to variable. Now the problem.I want to make an digital output active when a button(real button, not a switch) is pushed and when it is pushed again the output should be set to non active.
action() is called every timer.tick StatusDigInput1 = status of digital input =true when pushing button StatusDigOutput1 = status used for displaying output status
ive been trying to make a application that saves some information from two textfields into a textfile at a fixed location, without any peior confirmation. This is my own best bid. But it says that the Hula string is not a member of a string.
i have a ritch textbox and i wanna if some one selecta text and push the button (sorry i don't know the name in english for this in french :indice et exposant like in microsoft word) like this in the image with color red
When you push a button, i want to make that a text will come in a richtextbox. etc., when you push the button, "hello, my name is NAME" will appear in the richtextbox.
How do I get a new window to open with this button push displaying the link. Here is my code. This seems to open the browser in form 5 and however still navigates in current form webbrowser.
Private Sub Button7_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button7.Click Dim myElement As HtmlElement = WebBrowser1.Document.ActiveElement Dim target As String = myElement.GetAttribute("href")
I need a bit of your help. I am creating a button on my application and I have add the image. I want to know how to make the image to show as the pushbutton when I click it?
Im really bored an I can't think of another program to make but im going to give it a shot. Im trying to make a program that can turn on caps lock when you push button 1(Yes I know theres already a caps lock button on the keyboard Lol) and turn on off caps lock with button2. Im am also trying to see everytime i push button 3 it will hold shift down for as long as o dont let go of the left mouse button but when I let go of the left mouse button it will let go of button 3 and shift will be off O.o. Is there a way to do this?
When i push the close button on the top right of the exe i made, the process still runs. How can i make it to where when i close the exe it closes the process too? Also, (this is for shits and giggles) if i wanted to make a button that closed certain processes, what would the code be? For example, the button would close explorer.exe, googledesktop.exe, ect.
Yesterday I opened Visual Studio (2008 v 9.0.30729.1) and all the winform classes in my project display with class module icons with the little 'VB', instead of form module icons with the little form icon!
When I double click on a form module, the form designer doesn't open, just the code module.
When I run the project, it runs fine. There are no errors. The project builds fine.
I did Project --> show all files, and I can see the designer and resx files below the form module which doesn't look or act like a form module.
I have a web service that calls a class library. In this class library I'm trying to find out the URL of the web service that calls the class library. Is there a simple way of doing this??
Hey everyone I need some help, I created a bat/vbs (created two just incase) file that takes images that users have scan and re-names them places them into differnet folder and zips them so they can be uploaded that night.
When the user done scanning they click on that bat/vbs i created so it can do everything i stated above just it just opens a dos propmt or nothing happins to viewers eyes..
I want to create something in Visual Studio that calls that bat/vbs and shows them a progress bar so they know how long its going to take instead of them looking at a black DOS promptI do have visual studio 2010 and i am not really know to much about programming i start reading some books but im still a noob =) Dominick
What the Win32 API is? I have looked around but no where really outlines what it is. Is it basically a set of procedures, outlined by Microsoft for programmers in order to get services from the operating system? In essence is it the equivalent to making system calls abd and library calls in UNIX? And yes I now Windows makes library calls too.
I want to create a button that calls a preset cmd line like "CALL binphpphp.exe -S 0.0.0.0:8080 -t bin" + what the user inputs as a folder name in the textbox. Or even a batch file + user input folder name in a textbox.
I'd like to build a class where I always have a button at the bottom of a form. Then when I drag and drop the button, It has to make a copy of that button called "button1", if I drag and drop the button again I'll have another button called "button2" and so on.But If I drag and drop the "button1" or "button2" they shouldn't duplicate as the original. And this is the problem I can't sort out.
This is my class:
Imports System.Windows.Forms Imports System.Drawing Public Class frmTablesEditor Inherits Form
I want when Push Button data from Excel(The next cell data) go to the next Line in Textbox.
Private Sub Button18_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button18.Click Me.TextBox1.Text = wshTest.Range("B2").Value
I have been using DBTransaction for my current projects that access a single database. However, I read some documentation on TransactionScope and was wondering in which scenario would using TransactionScope be better? Or should I be replacing DbTransaction calls with calls to TransactionScope?
