ASP / ADO.net Ver 4.0 Data Query

What i want to do is use specific rows from a table in a database and input the individual rows each in its own textbox. So the logic works like this: Database(deals_info.mdb) with table called ME with the following rows : Serial, telC, telO, telA, PostalAddress, Email, FullName.So i know i will be using a Dataset and DataAdapter but i dont know what the syntax should look like to get the individual rows' data in the textboxes of my form.[code]Those are the declarations of the names of my textboxes from my codebehind file, does anyone know how i would be able to get the table/row information from the ME table in my database to put each row(Serial, fullname, ect) in the relevant textboxes? I am using Visual Studio 2010 with .net 4.0 and this is an asp.net webform.

i hve create combobox & text box and add database source to my project...i know how to binding data or load data to combobox using SELECT query..but can i change SELECT to INSERT query cz i wont when i type data into textbox,data will be in database...second..can i binding without add database to project..i mean mydatabase in debug folder..i hve problem binding data if database is not in myproject..

I am using Crystal Enterprise 10 to run Adhoc Query to generate reports.My database has data with 4 digits after decimal point. But, the Ad Hoc query report rounds the data to 2 digits and displays that. Is there a way I can change this default behaviour to show the data as it is without rounding it?

I am developing an application with an Access DB, and i'm having trouble retrieving data from the db, i want to count how many operations have been made through two dates that i'm passing from a datetimepicker, and i can't manage to do it, since i keep getting an error saying "Data type mismatch in criteria expression". In the db, i have that date field type as a date. Before, i had it as a text, but it wouldn't work if i selected one date of x month and the other date from a different month. So, my question is, how do i indicate the type of data in the sql query? [code]

My program pulls a weeks worth of records at a time and filters it into daily columns on a form, the problem is that there are ~80 fields to be filled in this manner and as far as i know each one has to be check for null before it can be filled. Could someone tell me if there is a faster way to do this? Below is my current code for one set of fields.

i am building a database application in vb.net and i started by adding a data source from the DATA in the toolbar. my connection is good and it shows all my tables in the data source panel.
i also see new classes related to my database, like
sakilaDataSet
sakilaDataSet.customerDataTable
...
and so on.
how do i query and use these ? i googled a lot and i am not able to get this.

I have a SQL server table that has a list of Usernames and a list of points ranging from 1 to 10,000.I want to display the number of points in my VB.NET program from the username given. i'm new here but i've been having a problem lately with a sql query inside the code i'm writing, and i don't know what else to do. I've been trying to retrieve data from a table, and i want to use a variable for the "where" field in the SQL query, but it keeps saying that the data are not the same type. [code] The point is, i need it to be an integer because the primary key is the same, but i can't figure out how to specify it. I hope i posted this on the aproppiate place, and if not, i apologize, but i didn't have much time to go through it.

I am working with Vb.Net 2005 and sql server database.
I have a query in sql database (qryImportpatients) - it has 4 fields: prac_no, prac_eid, pat_name, pat_yr.
I have a table in sql database (tblProjectpatients) - it has 5 fields: Project_ID, prac_no, prac_eid, pat_name, pat_yr.
Now on my form in VB.Net - I have a textbox (txtProjectID) which has a numeric value. I want to have a function which when called will insert all the datafrom the 4 fields from qryImportpatients to tblProjectpatients and also insert the numeric value (ProjectID) besides each record.

So what i am trying to do is query each database for similar data, but becuase one of the databases is HUGE, it takes to long to go through, and i am only really working with about 1000 files on the other database. So what i need to do is have it only qurey my "Barvisit" database with the same info from the "EPRCensusMT" database. In other words i don't want the second query to go thruogh, say ten million records to just find the 1000 i need to look for.I am think maybe i can put somthing where it reads maxrec but i am not sure.

I have used two database (1) party (2)partydup.[code]In both tables i have common field ("code"). I tried to retrieve the value of "description" field from partydup table when the "code" field in both the tables are same. I run the below coding but it is showing the error as "No data exists for the row/column". But i have a record which contains the code field value as 123 in both the tables. I am rewriting a program I originally did in MS Access. In this program I pull a table from the company's AS400 iSystems, it is filtered by data that I have in an Access Table. In Access, I first link both tables to the source and then just create a Query as if both tables were local. Now that I am using .Net, the second table is in SQL Server 2008.

I made a query in MS Access using fields from multiple tables. I want to display stuff from it into a listbox on the form and then I need to save stuff back too it also. But I'm obviously doing something wrong cos I keep getting the error: "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'Today'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly." [code] Also, I have written further down objDataSet. Tables("Today's Absentees") and "Today's Absentees" is a query not a table, what needs to be written instead?

At the moment I am using Access & an OleDb connection to store data. I went down this route originally because I though that this was the best way for applications that I am distributing to my clients.
I would prefer to use something like SQL Server but is this a good idea for software I am distributing? Does the average Joe's PC have SQL Server pre-installed? If not, I suppose I can provide them with a link to download it for free?
Is there any better alternatives to Access / SQL Server?

I'm using the Details View control of VWD asp.net 2008
I have a users database table. One of the columns contain the "uniqueidentifier" user's profile ID, created by VWD (from the automatic profiles table).
From my table, I would like to select only the data pertaining to the logged in user.
How do I get the current unique user profileID in general and then how do I use that for my query?
In the configure data source option of the control, I select the check box for "Return Only Unique IDs" and the WHERE option. In this new window I select the Column to the profile userID ... "=" and then assumed I should select Source: "Profile".
Now what should the parameter properties or value be to select only the current logged userID?
OR how can I do this just in C#? There doesn't seem to be any code behind after instering a DB with the VWD controls?

i'm working on a voting system but im having problems in adding records... i have two a primary key, the idnumber and the address. the address is where I base if that certain address already voted. but the problem is everytime i try to add a record with the same address (ex. Block 1 lot 4), the data is duplicated which is not output i want. the program should detect that there is already an existing address.
