Access 2003 Network With Multiple Users

I know my Question was asked maybe 10000 times before, but i really did not take the chance to search the forum coz i really short of time.
I have *.mdb DataBase with 20 tables each table have more than 10 fields, i'm trying to automate the MDB file from a network like that 5 PCS + One vb.net exe program (5 users) working on the same time on the exe that is connected to the database , my questions are :
1) How much risk is it to put the database into one (shared) folder and connect it to the program ?
2) What is the best way to establish this method ?
3) Is there any alternatives ?

I am developing a Visual Basic .NET application to be used by the staff of a small training centre nearby. The front-end (UI, menus, etc.) will all be in VB .NET, and there will be a back-end database for storing all of the required data, such as student records and meeting information. What I would like to know is if it's possible to use a Microsoft Access database for this purpose, and have it accessible by all the staff in the centre (on the same network) at the same time. For example, would I be able to put the database in a shared network folder, and have a copy of the VB application on each PC that would all be able to read/edit/add to the database?

I am developing an access database that will be shared with multiple users.I don't want the users to access the database directly so I will have them enter new data on a data access page. The data access page is stored on a Microsoft Share Point web page, and the database is stored on a network drive.Here is my problem: When new data is entered on the web page I need it to trigger a WillChangeRecordset event; however, I have not been successful because the web page does not declare a new instance of a recordset object.At a minimum I need the new data to be processed before the web page appends the new data to the table.

I've pulled basic information out of AD via System.DirectoryServices but cannot work out a method to find out currently logged in users?I would like to produce a list of users within a Group, highlighing those currently logged inactive.

I have this partially working but only shows printers for one user, need all local and network printers mapped for ALL users on a remote pc so I can migrate them, I know I need to do some sort of for each method but not sure what will work

The code can be accesses through: WatchFolder.zip..I would like to log the domain/username of the users when they are logging in from the network i.e. filesharing..I am currently using Environment.UserName and Environment.DomainName but this is not able to log if the files are access via filesharing..The Environment.UserName and Environment.DomainName are only useful if the user have logged in the machine (explorer/rdesktop)

So I am working on a small program that will tell the engineers the status of their testers; whether they are up or down with the time and date in addition there is also a comment box. I have created a program that has all the right buttons and options. Where I am stuck is on the save option. I want the engineers to be able to make changes to the status/date/comments and by clicking the save button to save all changes(in the status and date boxes) and text(in the comment box) so that when the program is opened at a later time or by another user on the network from a diffrent work station the latest changes from whomever will be present. The code that follows only allows the changes to be seen by on that specific computer and they are not shared to everyone who uses the program that accesses it over the network. Any help would be awsome!! Hope this is clear!
How can I get it so everyone sees all changes over the network regardless of the computer they are using? any help would be amazing!!

I use this line to download files: My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile(VideoFilename, SaveLocation, "", "", True, 8000, True But if a users cancel the download my application crashes. I searched Google but there's very little info about this problem. I tried with: My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile(FilenameMP3, SaveLocation, "", "", True, 8000, True, FileIO.UICancelOption.ThrowException, FileIO.RecycleOption.SendToRecycleBin()) But that line of code doesn't work. I have a program written in VB.net 2003 that are folks run under alternate credentials. Inside the app there is an option to open a UNC path to a network share. We were running Windows XP SP3 and IE6. The code is simple just a call to the explorer.exe with /root,\UNCPath. After installing IE 8 onto the machine this no longer works. Best I can tell the code is still working but now being executed in non interactive mode so nothing opens up. You can however see a new spawned explorer.exe running under the system account for each attempt at opening a UNC Path. Any ideas what IE8 could have done to cause this behavior?

I have multiple copies of Access dbs running varous projects on diverse workstation all over the country. Some new additions to the team have only Access 2007. Is there a way that I can use both versions without having to re-do any VBA, macros, scripts, etc.?

I have a program in VB.NET 2005. At some point I have to open an Access2003-Application for getting data in it. I do that by pretending my program is a human user and let it do all the work in Access as a human user would do. Filling Fields, pressing buttons etc. I use the Primary Interop Assemblies for that. So far so good. That code is in use for over half a year now. In the last week I got Office 2007 installed on my machine. Of course I tested the installed version of my program if everthing still works. Every test was succesfull. But if I do the same tests in Visual Studio it always crashes.
All I get is this Errormessage: {"Das COM-Objekt des Typs "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" kann nicht in den Schnittstellentyp "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" umgewandelt werden. i have a multiple form project in vb.net 2003.from my main form i activate the 2nd and from 2nd 3rd and so on.but the problem is when im going back from higher 3rd to 2nd and from 2nd to first, the closing event of my mainform doesnt seem to be working. well i have it me.close but it is still in debugging mode. i could only make it stop thru the stop button.

I've tried hiding one tabpage in the form and it was somehow successful. However, it was not the one i'm planning to do with my program. I don't know if there exists any code that could make the tabpages(two actually) automatically hide when the form loads and would only be visible after some passing some conditions.

Outlook wont let me send multiple drafts at the same time. Is there an easy way to send multiple drafts at once in outlook? without having to open each one individually?
From what i've read, seen and tried; this is not possible from within outlook itself, and thus a programming solution would be required, probably some VB script

I have a program that uses sql for the database. The issue im having is when two users attempt to update the same record then the update from second user overwrites the record from the first user. I believe this problem comes from the the way i attempt to preserve existing text in the fields.
My thought on whats going on is: If the form has fields A and B. Both users start with a blank form. User 1 adds a record with an entry in field A. When user 2 goes to update the record with an entry in form B, the program overwrites user 1s field A entry with the blank field A from user 2.
Is there a way to force it to grab the most recent data before it tries to add/update? I thought about resetting the digit combo box to the same digit which would trigger the change event for that field. but the issue with that is it would also wipe out the current entries on the form.
Below is the change event for the digit combobox, the main submit procedure, and the subprocedure for one of the days.

I am on the brink of developping an application for myself and some collegues at work. I will use VB 2005 and SQL server 2000 or 2005.
Here is my question: When I build the connection string do I have to use only 1 database user for all of the users of the application or does each user need to have its own database user in SQL Server?

I need to add multiple users to active directory in vb.net what would be my best way to do this? Although i see some dotnet classes for them its hard figuring this out for my first time. Mostly what must i be aware of when trying to add them? Multiple opinions on the matter would be fine but I really just wish to add users with basic information like firstname and lastname and maybe to specific group.

I have a form which has a textbox named "textbox1", and a button named "Button 1". Button 1 is meant to be a submission for textbox1 (i.e. when button1 is pressed, the value of textbox1 is saved and remembered). I want the value of textbox1 to be remembered on any computer, but I need it to be update-able too. I tried using settings to do this like so:

I can launch a program from inside my program and embedded it in my program using a Visual Basic Control such as a Panel. That works well if you launch say NotePad or Calculator.However, If I want to launch a program that uses MULTIPLE forms... all that gets embedded is the Main Form... All the other forms are floating on the desktop nonconstrained... So If I minimize my program the other forms are still shown.So what I am attempting to do is to get ALL the Forms from the external program embedded into their own objects on my form.Have pieced together a program from a couple of program samples that I have seen across the internet... i have done some research on converting an existing app to VB.NET, but have not found what I am looking for.
My existing app is currently created in Access 2003 VBA using access forms, modules, tables queries etc., and would like to convert all of it to VB.NET.
What would be the best method or tools to use to accomplish this? The VB.NET app would be developed from VisualStudio 2005..

I'm doing database development in Access 2003, and the Visual Basic portion of it is acting up. It seems to be "refreshing" itself constantly. Two very frustrating problems are occurring because of this: 1) Intellisense for properties and such pops up but immediately disappears and turns red and 2) it's automatically checking the syntax of lines before I can finish typing them.
The problem seems to be intermittant. Some forms in the database operate fine while others immediately turn the line red two seconds after I start typing. I am having this problem on both of the computers that I use on a regular basis.

i receive an error. Why? Conflicts between access 2003 and vb.net 2010? SQL Server is better?And another question. My Regional settings regarding the date is d/M/yyyy but in my vb.net example, the @date1, @date2 parameters accept M/d/yyyy dates. Is there a way to define into the parameters the d/M/yyyy specification?

The limit of an access database. Because I only know of manipulating access 2003 database with vb.net. And were going to make an information system for a small hospital for our project. Is ms access still usable for a hospital with over 2000 patients per year? some database if the ms access that I'm using no longer fits for our project.

i have a program where the high scores will be saved in a txt file. of course, if the file is already in use, saving the text file won't work. is there an if statement i can do to check if it is in use? or could i check the last access time, and the last modify time and if the modify time happened after the access, i know its closed, and if the access time happened after the last modify time it is still in use?

I stucked in trouble recently preparing for distrubute MS Access 2003 Application(mde) with 2003 runtime module.The function SUM() isn't work properly if a table has mulit rows. if mouse over the issued row, then it calculated.If update Office SP1,2,3, it works, which means MS already know the issue.My applcations is running with Access 2003 runtime all the time evenif user alredy have Office installed.Problem is that a user who has Office 2003 product and already updated Office SP, after installed our product, need to update again to fix runtime bugs. This is very weird for users becasue they somethimes need to install SP twice.
