I am trying to create and add text to a file.When the code runs, sAppDirectory shows a subdirectory as indicated below, but an exception is thrown because the subdirectory doesn't exist. Windows Explorer shows a " . . . DocumentsMy Documents . . . " structure but the sAppDirectdory doesn't show the "My Documents" in the string. Where did it go?Is there a way I can keep this automatic rather than having to "hard code" the pathname?Or, how can I access the Public subdirectory for the output file(s) via an automatic method? See the code below.[code]....

Folks will access the web application via a URL like so: [URL] So, for example, here is the urls for Jane Doe, John Doe, and James Doe respectively: [URL] I need to somehow pass them off (no matter what name is entered) to a default.aspx page which then pulls in the name portion of the url and uses it to perform a lookup against the database which contains info. about this particular person and displays a personalized page based on that information.

Any VB example of batch printing pdf files from a dos/windows subdirectory (with only Acrobat Reader installed)? I've got a folder full of pdf's (30 or 40) and I need to fire them off to the networked Laserjet. Also, is there a way in VB, to set the "full duplex" (double-sided) printing option for an HP Laserjet (PCL6)?

View 5 RepliesI have a program in VB.NET 2005. At some point I have to open an Access2003-Application for getting data in it. I do that by pretending my program is a human user and let it do all the work in Access as a human user would do. Filling Fields, pressing buttons etc. I use the Primary Interop Assemblies for that. So far so good. That code is in use for over half a year now. In the last week I got Office 2007 installed on my machine. Of course I tested the installed version of my program if everthing still works. Every test was succesfull. But if I do the same tests in Visual Studio it always crashes.
All I get is this Errormessage: {"Das COM-Objekt des Typs "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" kann nicht in den Schnittstellentyp "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" umgewandelt werden. For all who can't read german:
"Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" can't be converted in to "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" ... Interface is not supported.

Is it possible to set a variable in my custom class for Private Read/Write access and Public Readonly access without creating Properties with Get and Set? I tried googling my question a bit but I'm not sure what the correct terms even ar

I'm using VS 2010, and I did a project using VB and a database in Access. The problem is that when I try to put that "application" on other computers, sometimes, is not working. I thought it can be because on these computers they don't have access, but on one computer, is running another app which is using Access and there is no Access installed. How can I check if my application requires Access to be installed or not?
Here is a example of how I did the connection:
Public AccessOLEDBConnString= "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=" & myfullpath & ";Jet OLEDB:Database Password=password"
Function getConnection() As OleDb.OleDbConnection

And when I want to have access at the data I'm doing like this:

dim sql as string
dim ds as Dataset

View 2 RepliesI am writing a very simple program that connects to a accdb file (Microsoft Access 2007 file) and returns some results in a datagridview. Everything is fine. Now because we have to deploy this program in many computers i publish it so everyone we want can install it and have updates. What i wanted to do is to make the database file part of the program which i did it by adding it to the resources. My problem is that i do not know what connection string to enter in order to access it in my resources.
My previous connectionstring before i deploy it was this
ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:l.accdb;Persist Security Info=True
What should i change in the data source in order to access the same file in my resources?
(using VB2008) I am trying to automate Access from VB.Net. To do this, I added two libraries to my project, Microsoft.Office Interop.Access v12.0.0.0, and dao v10.0.4504.0. This seems to give me all the necessary commands, yet when I tried to open up an Access database via the following code:

I have a similar problem posted in the forum similar to this : started learning VB. I am not able to get my example code to work to access an Access database through automation. View 3 RepliesI have two Access database, say database One.mdb and Two.mdb. I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset. However, there should be something simpler and faster than that, shouldn't it? Any idea?
