i have a form where a user can upload images into access data base..but when i insert this images into my access data base it works fine..but now the problem occurs when i want to retrieve the stored images from my database to my picture box in doing so..i noticed that the images are stored in long binary file format in the access data base to as to how to convert this binary image file into jpeg file so that i can display images stored into my data base in to my picturebox...when i used ctype method it gave me an error saying cannot convert byte() into system.image...so now my question is as to how can we convery this binary file back to its original jpeg format..
I am trying to toy with an idea, but I haven't really done much database work as of yet. I already have my database up and running, but what I am trying to figure out is what is the best way to attach a query from the database so that the pictures will actually show up? I thought that I could use a gridview, but it doesn't seem to be able to handle the image. I next thought maybe I could an image control, but I have no idea how to attach that to a database.
I have a form in vb.net 2005 with a datagrid and picturebox, when I click an item in the datagrid dgProducts I want to display the Picture which is stored in an access database in binary format inside the picturebox pbProduct. This is the code I have inside the datagrid click:

I have an application that has an Ms Access 2007 DataBase which runns great if access is installed. Is there any code that I can use in vb that I would be able to run access with out installing it.
I have two Access database, say database One.mdb and Two.mdb. I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset
I am trying to import data from an access database to a access database that my project uses I am having problems with combo box fields in the database with the data. I want to import what is displayed instead of the numerical key value. Example: The combo box displays employee names but the value stored is the key value from the employee table so instead of importing John Doe it imports 2 is there a way to make the actual name instead of the number?
dsNewRow.Item("picture") = PIS.PictureBox3.Image Private Sub PictureBox2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles PictureBox2.Click openimage.Filter = "All Files|*.*|Image Files (*)|*.bmp;*.gif;*.jpg;*.png"
I am trying to get a access picture attachment to show in an vb.net picture box. at start up, i add an attachment field to the database, and add pictures to the database in jpg form. then connect the database to vb project using the general vb settings. The connection is sucessful, I then add a picture box control to the form along with changing the attachment field to a picture box setting at this point every thing should be good. However, when i go to run the program the picture box remains
other database in microsoft access can be connected to VB 2008 successfully. i've problem to link the picture to VB 2008. Some updating commands could not be generated automitically. the database returned the following error: Dynamic SQL generation for the UpdateCommand is not supported against a SelectCommand that does not return any key column information.

I need to save pictures in my database, my database is MSSQL as of now, my code for getting the picture is this:
Private Sub browsepic_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles browsepic.Click With dialogpic 'Open File Dialog sa toolbox .InitialDirectory = "C:UsersCAMILLEPictures"
I have some pictureboxes on this form set up to allow me to browse for images, then select one and show it in the box. How can I save the picture I pick so it updates a database and will show that picture when I cycle through the data in the program? It would be an SQL database and it already has columns for the picture. I don't know if I should store the path to the image or the image itself.
I've made a code which updates my database using a dataset and data binding source. I can retrieve all fields in the database including the Picture field which is set to OLE Object however I cannot update this. The Picture field in the dataset is set to type System,.Byte. Ive search these forums and found how to do it manually which I can do and works but when it comes to the BindingSource.EndEdit section it still tries to update my Picture field and fails due to a type failure.
It was System.InvalidCastException: Failed to convert parameter value from a Byte[] to a String. ---> What can I do to correct this? Below is my code. Note the image saves under the hard coding but not in the second part of the code.
Dim connection As New OleDb.OleDbConnection(My.Settings.AirportsConnectionString) Dim command As New OleDb.OleDbCommand("UPDATE Airports SET Picture = @Picture WHERE ID = " & TextBox10.Text, connection) 'Create an Image object.
A simple database has been created in Access, which is just basically a table of text, with some images as entries. A form has been created in VB2008 Express and linked to the database. Either a combibox, text boxes or pictureboxes are linked to a column form the database. The first row entries are all displayed correctly in the relavant boxes (except for the images, which for some reason aren't displayed). If another value in the comibox is selected, the other box values don't change and there is still no images visible...
