Save Changed Picture Box To SQL Server?

May 25, 2009

I have been working on a project. In this project I wish to be able to create electronic signatures. I have perfected the signing routine and also creating the memory astream and saving and retrieving an image. The problem comes in when I retrieve the image from the database. The image being saved does not capture the signature (the changes I've made to the picturebox)

1. I load a small bmp as the template on where to sign with by setting the picturebox.imagelocation to a network share

2. Using mousemove and mouseclick, and draw events I draw a signature on top of the picture box

3. I picturebox.image.save(memorystream) the picture box to a sql server from a button click event.

4. When I retrieve the saved image there are no edits (No signature) only the original image. I am sure that the original image is going in and that it is coming out every time.

My question is thus: How can I capture the signature that I have edited into the picture box. I have tried picturebox.save like I mentioned above and I have tried picturebox.update() but without success. Does anyone know what I missing I think that the answer lies in refreshing or updating the picturebox, but I'm not sure how.

Load Jpg's Into The SQL Server Table And Just Select The Jpg File Itself For The Picture Box?

Oct 20, 2009

I have written a program that requires a particular image to appear in a picturebox. The image will be 1 out of 114 possibilites and the correct one is determined at runtime. I have all 114 images loaded into resources and I have the program correctley selecting the name of the jpg. I have the name of the jpg set to a variable (string) named gsSBdetail and I can make the name of the jpg file appear in a textbox. What code would I write to make the jpg in resources with the name assigned to gsSBdetail appear in a picturebox? NOTE: I have all of the names of the jpg's in a table in a SQL server database and use a multi parameter query to select the correct jpg file name, which in turn is assigend to the gsSBdetail variable. Is ther a way to load jpg's into the SQL server table and just select the jpg file itself for the picture box?

Switch Network SQL Server 2008 R2 Database To A Mobile SQL Server CE *.sdf File

Nov 2, 2011

I have developed a VB.NET program using a strongly typed dataset. This dataset has its connection to a SQL Server 2008 R2. The software should now be additionally used offline. The database should be exported to a *.sdf database. If no connection to the SQL server is produced, the software have to try to connect to the *.sdf database.I would like to achieve:

1. Export the data in the SQL Server 2008 R2 database to a local *.sdf file.

2. This *.sdf file has to work as an alternate connection string in the strongly typed dataset.

VS 2008 Saving Picture To A Database?

Dec 27, 2009

I've made a code which updates my database using a dataset and data binding source. I can retrieve all fields in the database including the Picture field which is set to OLE Object however I cannot update this. The Picture field in the dataset is set to type System,.Byte. Ive search these forums and found how to do it manually which I can do and works but when it comes to the BindingSource.EndEdit section it still tries to update my Picture field and fails due to a type failure.

It was System.InvalidCastException: Failed to convert parameter value from a Byte[] to a String. ---> What can I do to correct this? Below is my code. Note the image saves under the hard coding but not in the second part of the code.

Dim connection As New OleDb.OleDbConnection(My.Settings.AirportsConnectionString)
Dim command As New OleDb.OleDbCommand("UPDATE Airports SET Picture = @Picture WHERE ID = " & TextBox10.Text, connection)
'Create an Image object.

[code]....
