I have a form in vb.net 2005 with a datagrid and picturebox, when I click an item in the datagrid dgProducts I want to display the Picture which is stored in an access database in binary format inside the picturebox pbProduct. This is the code I have inside the datagrid click:
pbProduct.Image = Nothing
Dim x As Integer = dgProducts.CurrentRowIndex
Dim dt As DataTable
Dim drow As DataRow

I have imported the system.io and system.data.oledb at class level and I hav generated this code from what I can find in forums online, but I get "Parameter is not valid" and no more help than that...

I have the following code in my asp.net: <asp:Image ID="imgInv" runat="server" width="600px" /><br /> Then in my vb.net page,i have the code:imgInv.ImageUrl = .Item("ImagePath") The data that I retrieve from my sql server is such as:C:1.tif However, the image could not be display. May I know is it vb.net does not support to view tif format picture.

this is so simple its embarrassing to ask. How do you display a picture in a picturebox? I want to have a static picture displayed on my single form application. I tried adding a picturebox control to the form and setting the InitialImage setting to my pgn file. But when the app loads they image is not displayed. I've googled around and found many references to adding pictures out of databases and etc, but nothing as simple as my. I just want to display the one image.

I am trying to make a very simple thing (I think) but cannot manage. Here is the scene:I have one combobox and one picture box in my form. The idea is that, when combobox selects "john", the picture box should show the photo from the resources with name "john" or "john.jpg". Here is the code I have:
PictureBox1.Image = DirectCast(My.Resources.ResourceManager.GetObject(CStr(Me.ListBox1.SelectedItem)), Image)
The problem is, it does not work; neither it gives an error.

i have a form where a user can upload images into access data base..but when i insert this images into my access data base it works fine..but now the problem occurs when i want to retrieve the stored images from my database to my picture box in doing so..i noticed that the images are stored in long binary file format in the access data base to as to how to convert this binary image file into jpeg file so that i can display images stored into my data base in to my picturebox...when i used ctype method it gave me an error saying cannot convert byte() into system.image...so now my question is as to how can we convery this binary file back to its original jpeg format..

I am trying to toy with an idea, but I haven't really done much database work as of yet. I already have my database up and running, but what I am trying to figure out is what is the best way to attach a query from the database so that the pictures will actually show up? I thought that I could use a gridview, but it doesn't seem to be able to handle the image. I next thought maybe I could an image control,but I have no idea how to attach that to a database.

I'm using VS in Vista. I have using a DataBase in SQL2008 which its date format is year,month,day. In my app I have the date format as Format(Now, "d") which shows 13/12/2009 but when inserted it displays as 1900-01-01 in the DataBase. I have determined thanks to the last q & a that there is something wrong with my "save to db" code as well as my "retrieve to picture" code. Even If I manually save the pic in the db it stil wont retreive. This is code i patched together from 3 or 4 examples around the net.
