I've got this code
ToolStripTextBox1.ProgrammeTemplatesToolStripMenuItem.DropDownItems.Add(btn)
ToolStripTextBox1.TS.Visible = True
How to save this button so that when the program runs again, it's still there?
I want to place a few buttons on my form. The number is unknown at design time. Actually each button will represent an item entered in combo box. So if user adds an item, a button on the form should be added by the code.
i have created dynamic buttons at runtime and i would like to disable them when a user clicks on a form button.This is the code i have for that button:
Dim intXX As Integer = 0 Do Until intXX = intX userAvatar(intXX).Enabled = False intXX = intXX + 1 Loop
The buttonNames is an array of all populated button names created at runtime. However, trying the .enabled = false at the end of that does not work. What other ways are there to do that with buttons created at runtime?
I have 14 command buttons on my form. what i want to do is change the text of the form based on the current date. button1 should have todays date.button2 should have tommorows date.button3 should have day after tomorrows date and so on. I want this for fourteen buttons.I can do it manually by assigning each button.text to each date... i want to do it using a loop. is it possible.my buttons are named , button1,button2,button3,button4, and so on toll button 14.and the text i want on them is from the current date to 14 days later...basiocally want to display the dates on the button..is it possible though a loop.m using visual studio and vb.net
When I set the button background image in properties, it looks great. When the button is clicked, the image needs to change. I tried to use an image list like this: btnSample.BackgroundImage = ImlStimuli.Images.Item(0)and I tried loading them from a file. I can get them to read, but the image always turns out blurry or distorted. I've tried all variations of alignment, BackgroundImageLayout like stretch/zoom/centered, and I changed flat style, but nothing has worked. Is there a setting or something that I'm missing in properties?
Just a quick question, using Visual Basic 2008, is there a way to change the text of a forms buttons and other objects during runtime so that the text sticks no matter if the form is closed and reopened or not? I can get the text to change, but after closing the window and reopening, the text resets. Is this possible?

I am trying to make buttons made during runtime with a click event. I have figured out the click event, by using addhandler, but is there a way to get info from the button, and use it in the sub? Here is my
[Code]...
the buttons will be created according to a variable that changes during runtime, so I won't know the names of the buttons.
i know is there any simpler ways of coding to enable the user to drag and drop button and this button will toggle the background color when the condition is true. So which means to say i need to know where can i place the main program code in the code block.There will also be a provision for the user to delete the button control at runtime.
I have been playing around with Visual Basic for about a week now. I created a program that I use at work basically just to organize my day.
The program consists of buttons that link to programs and spreadsheets that I use often, as well as a checklist of tasks I've completed and text boxes that I use for reminders. Other buttons affect GroupBox texts and Label texts.
What I'd like to know is how I can implement a Save and Load button? I'd the current state of the program to be saved so it can be loaded in the event that I have to shut the program down. (Check boxes checked, Text in Text boxes, Labels, etc...)
I've been looking online for HOURS and I've messed around with the SaveSettings feature... nothing seems to work.
I have looked everywhere for some info on how to code save and open buttons. In my program, there are textboxes and labels that will have info entered into them by the user. I need to be able save whatever is in the labels and textboxes. Then, I need to be able to open the file and have all values in the labels and textboxes to be restored to wherever they were. I want to be able to save and open just like in excel, word, and whatnot with a file that is saved onto the computer.
When you complete various feats in my program, on a form called "User Details" there is a label with the text that says "Complete" only when you have completed a particular game. There is a save button, and a load button, all on different forms. How could I make a save and load feature? One that saves the fact you've completed certain games - and then when you press load after exiting and reentering the program, the Complete text will reappear.
I'm using VB 2008, and I have created a Ribbon (Visual Designer) Add-In for excel 2007.When the user clicks a "Save" button, that was created at design time, this buttons click event prompts the user for the new file name...then saves the workbook.then uses the new file name as the label for a dynamically created button that is placed in Menu1, on Ribbon1...all of this works just fine.The problem is, this dynamically created button in Menu1 disappears when excel is restarted. So, I setup user scope settings in an attempt to save these dynamically created buttons.The settings properties are as follows:
Name = RibbonSettings Type = Microsoft.Office.Tools.Ribbon.RibbonMenu Scope = User[code]....
The problem is, this seems to lock Menu1 and the dynamically created button never gets added to Menu1. Without this, the button is added to Menu1 just fine, but disappears upon restart.How can I save these dynamically created buttons in Menu1 on Ribbon1?
When i click on ADD it changes to SAVE and disables other buttons DELETE UPDATE SEARCH.When i click on SAVE and if texboxes are empty it brings an error,when i click search and i want to cancel the search from the inputbox it brings another error i also want to add cancel button or refresh button.How can i make this project to run well. WHere did i go wrong
For an application I am building, I need to have the user specify button labels and be able to click on them to play a sound they specify. I would like them to be able to specify the number of buttons, the label for the buttons, and the sound file to be played. I would then like the user to be able to save those settings. How do I go about doing this? Also, how do I get the file they've opened's name to show up in the title bar of the app?
I am attempting to create a program which saves customer information for a business e.g first name, last name, address etc. but i am having trouble coding the save , new, print, next/previous record buttons.
Just started with VS2010. (vb) Coming from VS2005. (i skipped VS2008)
My question is this. Why do I have to hit save before every build in order to see design changes at runtime? Example: I change the text on a button at design time. I click on run and the text does not reflect the change. But if I saved the form before clicking run, than it does. Also like to add VS2010 runs much slower compared to VS2005 running on the same computer. I understand VS2010 can do more, but a lot of times you don't need it to.
i am working on dynamic Cheque printing, i made a form with moving controls at runtime. user arrange controls acc to his cheque or cheques, now i want to save so that user print cheque again and again from once made setting.
I work on 1 application which have included MS SQL database. So far, i manage to connect my database and putt it on form with Infragistics UltraWinGrid, create report in Stimulsoft Raports and also export all data from grids in Excel. All that work well, only problem that I have is to save data in grid. To be precise, after i update datas in runtime, and click save, my msgbox show that data is saved but after rerun in database is only datas that i putt manually trough SQL Manager. I have no clue how to save data in runtime, and after second rerun to show me data i putt in runtime. [Code]
