why the buttons in the development and in the runtime look different?
Top is how the button looks like at runtime. Bottom is how the button looks like at development.
If anyone has ever worked in the food industry, you are familiar with the P.O.S. system that you place orders into. If a company adds a new menu Item, they don't have to rehire the programmer to code in the button, there is a script in place that will allow them to add their own buttons.

I want to place a few buttons on my form. The number is unknown at design time. Actually each button will represent an item entered in combo box. So if user adds an item, a button on the form should be added by the code.

i have created dynamic buttons at runtime and i would like to disable them when a user clicks on a form button.This is the code i have for that button:

The buttonNames is an array of all populated button names created at runtime. However, trying the .enabled = false at the end of that does not work. What other ways are there to do that with buttons created at runtime?

I have 14 command buttons on my form. what i want to do is change the text of the form based on the current date. button1 should have todays date.button2 should have tommorows date.button3 should have day after tomorrows date and so on. I want this for fourteen buttons.I can do it manually by assigning each button.text to each date... i want to do it using a loop. is it possible.my buttons are named , button1,button2,button3,button4, and so on toll button 14.and the text i want on them is from the current date to 14 days later...basiocally want to display the dates on the button..is it possible though a loop.m using visual studio and vb.net
View 5 RepliesWhen I set the button background image in properties, it looks great. When the button is clicked, the image needs to change. I tried to use an image list like this: btnSample.BackgroundImage = ImlStimuli.Images.Item(0)and I tried loading them from a file. I can get them to read, but the image always turns out blurry or distorted. I've tried all variations of alignment, BackgroundImageLayout like stretch/zoom/centered, and I changed flat style, but nothing has worked. Is there a setting or something that I'm missing in properties?

i know is there any simpler ways of coding to enable the user to drag and drop button and this button will toggle the background color when the condition is true. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?

I wanna give the following instruction to the people: press these buttons in the following order: first buttonA, then buttonB, then buttonC and last buttonD. If they obey this instruction then a picture will be displayed, for instance a happy face. All the other combinations will not activate this picture to be displayed, or in other words, there won't be any consequence. My VB application is behaving strangley. I have form with fairly large number of controls. I am using case against radio buttons. after curtain number of buttons, it stops responding to more radio buttons.
Then I tried to split controls in to 2 form but now my form.showdialog() too now working properly. It takes new from names but show the old form when running.
i have 4 different handles buttons with code how can i connect them in another "general button" that will make the 4 buttons to work with one click

View 2 RepliesI have 7 Windows forms.The order of the forms is defined within a configuration file.I want to place buttons on each form that will show the next available options.The Next button will move the next form in the list.The Back button will move to the previous form in the list. The Finish button will execute the final piece of code.The Cancel button will exit the application.If the user is on the first form, then there is no Back button.If the user is on the last form, then there is no Next button, but there is a Finish button.

Since Microsoft stopped supporting classic Visual Basic, is it wise to use Visual Basic to develop the Active X control or the latest VC++/ATL/MFC libraries provide more feature where we can create controls faster by leaving Visual Basic flexibility?
We will not be able to use .NET/VB.NET/C# since the application is supposed to work inside containers and containers may not support latest .NET runtime.
