View 1 Repliesi seem to have a problem when i try to update a certain record in an Access 2007 Database. I have a small Access 2007 database with 1 table which has 3 Columns and several records. The 3 columns are RecordNumber (Primary Key and it is autonumber), FirstName(text) and LastName(text). What i am trying to do in VB 2008 is implement a search form which when you find a record you can update it. I do not have any problems with the search, but i cannot seem to edit any other record than the first one. For example i search for John which exists, if that record is the 3rd record when i try to edit it whatever changes i make (for example change that to James), the changes i make are made to the first record and not the current one. I tried a lot of things but nothing works, here is my code:

I'm having a problem with the error in verifying the usernames that are already existing in the record/database.
When you inputted a username that already existing it will throw an exception, and when you change the username, it still throws the exception.
I am looking for a logic that loops to all records in a temptable and checks if the record exists in the final table (structure is different, only some fields are to be inserted in final). When the record does exist in final, a record should be created in a table duplicate.

The system should not insert selected records from my datagridviewcheckboxcolumn if it's already existed in the database.It's like when you're registering online. If you're username/email address already registered,it would inform you that youre username/email is already registered and the site would ask you to change your username/email to new ones.The difference in my system is that i have 2 datagridviewcheckbox columns not just textboxes . Parent and Child in the datagridview. What i want to happen is that once the Code has been registered as Parent it cant be registered again as Child anymore.

I am writing a very simple program that connects to a accdb file (Microsoft Access 2007 file) and returns some results in a datagridview. Everything is fine. Now because we have to deploy this program in many computers i publish it so everyone we want can install it and have updates. What i wanted to do is to make the database file part of the program which i did it by adding it to the resources. My problem is that i do not know what connection string to enter in order to access it in my resources.
My previous connectionstring before i deploy it was this

What should i change in the data source in order to access the same file in my resources?

I have a vb 2005 app with a Access 2003 backend. I need to upgrade the the BE to 2007 file format. Changing the connection string in settings produces a "Unrecognized database format" error message. I installed Access 2007 runtime but still get the same message.
