For a project my teacher requires me to write a program that will do simple math on two integer arrays. User inputs up to 30 digits in two text boxes and I have to put that into two separate integer arrays.

I have 2 arrays. One is an array of images other an array of numbers. The images are card faces, (Card(i)), the integers are the corresponding values of the cards (Value(i)). I want to associate the card face with a corresponding value. However, everytime I do what I think is correct, I get an error stating that I cant convert an image to an integer and visa versa.
View 6 RepliesIn the player vs computer tic tac toe game I've been working on there are 2 boolean arrays (one for the computer and one for the player) that track which cells have been taken. When all other moves have been exhausted I would like the computer to play a random cell. To do this I am trying to gather the indexes of all False values from the 2 arrays and add them to another dynamic integer array. The computer will then choose randomly from the new array. The two Boolean arrays are plyrTaken and cmptrTaken. The dynamic array is occupied.
Here I declared the arrays:

Here I got the dynamic array ready for use:

In the last block of code I was just trying to print the contents of the array to a list box so I could see if it was working. Obviously, it's not. When one position is occupied the list box shows the occupied cell index with a Zero. This really shouldn't be there as I want only taken cell indexes to be sent to array and list box. When a second position is occupied 7 zeros are added to the list box. Kinda shows promise as 9 total cells - 2 is 7 but there should be index numbers other than zero to represent the cells that have been occupied.
Also, the indexes shouldn't keep adding on to the dynamic array I need a way to clear the array and resize it back to 0. I tried adding
Redim occupied(0)
to the top of the code but that didn't seem to work.
I am very confuse over a Raise Events example and using delegate as a function pointer: I am clear with this function pointer example program below which creates a generic sort function for sorting integer arrays without changing the main sort function.

I'm making an application in school where I have to display the values of domestic, international, and total sales of company "Conway Enterprises." Everything seems to be working except it is not displaying the totalCompany sales as a currency. I'm sure it's probably an easy fix but I've been searching the internet and re-reading my book for awhile with no results. The problem with this is that it puts everything in the first column instead of each column.
What I was trying was to have it place each value into its own column.
The problem is trying to update and add a number to a summary label each time a math problem is answered correctly or incorrectly. As it is now, it will only add + 1 to correctNum and incorrectNum regardless of how many times I press the button.

I am trying to understand the do until loop when adding numbers along with a variable to a new line in a textbox, incrementing each time. View 2 RepliesIn VB6 I load a recordset containg all of the records (6 fields per record)in a table into an XArray and then manipulate the records in the array and then write them back to the original table. The array issorted by the first field (1 to maybe 8000 or more) I need to find records in the array by an ID field and then move them (because of some external criteria that happens many times) from say number 400 to number 375. Then all of the other records between 375 and 399 were renumbered up 1 to fill the gaps left by the move.
The XArray worked well as it could find and also move to a next record easily to facilitate the revisions to each record quickly. Everything is done in VB6 in code and nothing visual needs to be shown to the user until say 2000 of these external changes are complete. What is the best, most efficient way to do this in the .Net framework in VB2010. Datasets, Dataviews. tableadapters, arrays. enums ?
I have a VB.net console app and I am opening a function in a dll written in fortran. I am passing 3 arrays through the function by reference. When they come back out the otherside they ahve all tunred to arrays of only one element And that element is 0.I read on the internet somewhere that when doing this kind of thing it is a good idea to only pass the first element of the array into the function.I tried changing my function declaration to accepting single elements rather than single dimensional arrays, and now the arrays are the same length before and after the function call, but they don't seem to be changing at all, so i'm not sure that this is working

I'm trying to create a linked list of an array of integers. Why is the following implicit conversion required?
When I run the code that contains that conversion, I get the following error.
As a real-time data acquisition user control data (a packet of an array of bytes) arrives every second, is converted into an integer array and inserted into a linked list.
The most recently arrived data is painted as coordinates on a grid at the right of a PictureBox using Graphics.DrawLine (pen,X1,Y1,X2,Y2).
The oldest data (arriving 120 seconds ago) will be drawn at the leftmost portion of the Picturebox.
Why a linked list rather than a list? To display 120 views of time sequence data, the draw routine the most recently inserted node to a node that points to Nothing. How do I limit the length of the linked list to 120 nodes and always ensure that the last node points to Nothing?

After reading the forum I was able to append .First() to noPic at the myNoPic declaration and finally get a result but that only gave me the first element. Does anybody have any advice on how to accomplish this?

When I try to compile the code I get a compiler error: Option Strict On disallows implicit conversions from 'Boolean?' to 'Boolean'. Whilst it's very simple for me to work around this, I was hoping that someone might be able to explain what's going in the compiler to give this warning.
