I'm doing a movie database project where I want to add a first name, surname, DVD and role of that person in that movie to a query which will be displayed in the next tab.

I am trying to create a simple Word doc that when the user presses the button it takes the information in the boxes and tosses it into a template style paragraph. But my issue is that I have two combo list boxes as seen in the picture. I want to have two values in the drop down list as seen in the labels next to them but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do this in Word 2007. In Visual Studio this is much easier but I am work and need to snap this out for the folks at work. Is there an option that I can choose in the properties where I type in the values for each drop down or do I have to add them in at run time?
I have a form that queries a database into a dataset then sets textboxes to values from the query. I have a status field I want to be able to control so I created a combo box with typed in values(Active, Inactive, Missing, Broken,Calibration). The purpose of this form is to view the current information on the item and edit if need be. I want to display the current status in the combo box. I can't get the combo box to display the value from the query. How do I do that.
I am trying to use a Linq Query to pull Data from a Dataset and put it into a Combobox. I am getting a Cannot Convert Type String to Boolean Error and I don't understand Why. So Far I have my Linq query pulling Data from the Dataset but I have not been able to get it into the combobox.[code]The portion of code commented out is what I tried before but to no avail. I believe that the error that is occurring, the LINQ query is pulling all the elements not just the VehicleType. I also was wondering how to use the Distinct Keyword in LINQ, from my searches it seems that it should go after my Select Statement in a new Linq, but my SQL Side says thats wrong.
PROBLEM: I want to only show specific database records based on serveral combo-box inputs from a user. I'm looking to query an Access database from within a form I've created for viewing simple Jpegs of CAD files and pointcloud data. I've never worked with table adapters, SQL statements, or much in the way of databases before and I'm lost.
Do I add a new query and do what I want from a configuration wizard somehow? That method gave me a toolstrip button with no combo-box.Should the combo-box be bound to the table or should it stand alone?Can this be done without the use of a wizard (purely in an event) I've been told what I'm looking to do is rather simple, I'm just unable to find syntax that has worked for me.
I have two comboboxes in my form (cbAdresse & cbVerwaltung). Choosing the value in the first combo, i get the value from the table into the textbox txtAdID. Now i try to use the value in the txtAdID as the parameter for the SQL command selecting the values from the table (tblVerwaltung). These values must be added to the second combo (cbVerwaltung). I'm fairly new to visual basic and have a problem that is probably quite easy to solve yet I have been unable to do it so far and am about at wits end.I have an access database with a table that contains a list of cities and states. what i would like to do is to populate a combo box on a vb form with a list of the states in the states column. the query that i have is as follows:
SELECT DISTINCT State from Cities I have previewed the data in the dataset designer and it works, i just can't figure out how to make it fill the combo box. i initially created a table with just all of the states and then used a binding source and table adapter to bind it to the combo box, but if I'm able to figure this out this would help with my application going forward
I've inherited a form that has a DataGridView that is bound to a dataadapter and it is connected to a binding source. Within the DataGridView is a combo box that is bound to its own bindingsource which basically just calls a stored proc to bring back the possible values for the dropdown combo control
With a blank new row and sometimes even with an existing row, this value for the combo box can be NULL which is a legitimate value for it if no value selected. Problem is everything is so tightly bound if the user mistakinly clicks the dropdown then a value is populated and there's no way to get back to NULL
I've tried to catch the mousecelldown event and others to try to catch this before a value is selected but the Cancel=True doesn't work - I can catch the event but don't know how to return the cell to unclicked or reset it to NULL or pre selected value if NULL I know how to at a new row with the datatable and then set the combo datasource to it and I have my null blank value but with a tightly bound control how do I add this row?

I'm trying to make a database program in VB 2008 and have come across a problem with a query that I'm not sure how to solve. I have a combo box which contains names of teams that are held within the database, when a team name is selected I have 4 queries that will separate players (in that team) by their position, using this information I will then be able to display information about the players in a collection objects so that it can be edited and what not.
My problem is that I need to be able to refer to the records in the query so that I can assign a players details to objects on the form, I've used a piece of code to do so that I used previously to select individual records from a table, however when I click on a team in the combo box it throws up the error: "Could not format node 'ClientQuery' for execution as SQL.". Not being a particularly experienced VB programmer this error doesn't exactly mean too much to me, although I am not exactly sure of another way to tackle the problem.

In my below forms, the user select a name from the combo box list and enters an amount for the name selected. The user can enter as many entries. Every time the total button is clicked, I would like the total for each person to be display on the labels.
I have the following query that executes when my form loads. It's the rowsource for my combo box. The query is fine and populates the combo perfect, however, when i click into the combo box I cannot click out of it or even close the form. I have tried taking out the line of code that fills the form via table adapter on load and it works fine (opening the form unbound by the main table). Has anyone run into this before? I have another combo box on the form setup the exact same way and this is not happening. I've experimented with different datatypes etc....

adding to the binding source then setting the combobox to selectedIndex of newly added row is not working.the new row is in there but it does not set the selectedIndex to the specified index. but if I run the code a second time it selects it.what can i do to make sure the combo uses the specified index?

I debated whether or not to ask in the database section, but decided this was probably more of a VB question, than DB.I'm performing a query on my database and add its value to a DGV. At the moment, I'm just running tests to make sure the base example works so I can expand on it for more advanced tests.[code]It doesn't matter how I add the row, just adding it causes the error. And yes, the AllowUsersToAddRows property of the DGV is set to True, which wouldn't cause this problem anyway, but I decided to be extra careful.
I'm having issues w/ querying the database w/ user selected dates. Hardcoded everything worked fine but when I started to use the DateTimePicker things stopped working.

I have a sql query with that adds numerical values from different table to find total for a shipment. When I execute this query, it works fine for the first record but rest of the records show null value when I know there are records present. SQL pros take a look if there is a problem with my syntax.
I've added a COM reference to one of my projects (the DLL resides in C:Program FilesIntwerwovenWorksiteiManage.dll) but when I view the References in my project the path is something like c:usersusernamedocumentsvisual studio 2008project nameobjdebugiManage.dll..I seem unable to edit this path. I can remove the reference and re-add it using the browse button, picking up the correct dll but it keeps showing as the path of the project.The application works on my development machine but as soon as it's deployed to a client machine it complains of the missing DLL. Of course, the DLL is present but the app is looking in the debug folder.
I am trying to do a simple summary of table data using a LINQ query.a regular SQL Query looks like:[code]This query works fine and returns the correct results.[code]This LINQ query returns the incorrect results some of the time. I seem to be having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to add the results from a mySQL query to an array in vb.net. Right now, I only understand that you have to define the dimension of the array, however this is shy of impossible since the dimension of the array will change due to different results from the query. What is the proper way to take my results and put them in an array?
I have a table adaptor that pulls from the sql database, when I edit the table adaptor query it makes this specific table adaptor not a part of the dataset. I have added a column to my database which will contain an integer, when I try to add this column to the query this error occurs, i am using the configure area of the table adaptor. How to use a databound combo box to display one field in the drop down, and another as the combo box text on roll up? Using VS 2005... For example, I have a datatable that has 2 fields. One called "ShortDesc" and one called "LongDesc". I want to be able to see the "LongDesc" column values in the drop down on the combo box.
