I'm having issues w/ querying the database w/ user selected dates. Hardcoded everything worked fine but when I started to use the DateTimePicker things stopped working.

I have a table adaptor that pulls from the sql database, when I edit the table adaptor query it makes this specific table adaptor not a part of the dataset. I have added a column to my database which will contain an integer, when I try to add this column to the query this error occurs, i am using the configure area of the table adaptor.
Error 'AuditProductsTableAdapter' is not a member of 'MemKingClient.MemKingDataSetTableAdapters.TableAdapterManager'.
I have a DataGridView of which is being populated via a table adaptor.
I can populate it with a query where the value is statically assigned in the query.
What I'd like is a textbox where I can type in a variable for the query and then populate the datagridview.

I know that my query works but it's not producing any data. I have debugged my form and can see the data being passed in the variables elsewhere on the page but I'm not sure of the syntax within the query.

One variable is chosen by a combo box called cboYEARMONTH and the other is selected from a list view called employeeListView. i had a look at how to set values of variables from nummbers stored in external txt files the variables then needed to be added up so i used trial and error first
((XVAL) + (NEWVAL))
assuming that XVAL was set to 10 and NEWVAL was set to 20 i expected to get the answer of thirty but waqs presented with the new value of 10 20 VB.net pysicaly added the two values together but i wanted the mathematical product of the two which is ((10) + (20)) = 30
Ok so I have an array and wish to add the variables of the array to separate lines of the list box. I came across this which in some ways worked but also didn't. The second thing mentioned on the page was to us:
ListBox1.DataSource = Form2.Title This works the first time you run it but if you try to run it again nothing happens. So using the above or something else how can I get it to update the list box? Another thing I tried was to use the DataSource method but instead to clear the list box first, but that turned up an error
If I'm trying to output to a listbox, what is the easiest way I can enter a string and then a variable on the same line? I'm trying to use listbox1.Items.Add(...). Obviously outputting a string is no problem and outputting a variable is no problem, but I want to add a string and then a variable after the string. For instance:

This is my first attempt at writing a program that accesses a database from scratch, rather than simply modifying my company's existing programs. It's also my first time using VB.Net 2010, as our other programs are written in VB6 and VB.NET 2003. In my program I have a combo box that the user selects a date from and a list view that the user selects an employee ID from. How do I properly design my database query string to use both the date selected and the employee ID selected? The date is stored in a variable called YearMonth and the employee ID is stored in a variable called EmpID.

I am trying to add 2 variables and the result to appear in a label.The case is that there is a platinum version of an album which costs more. The extra cost depends on the album so it varies.If the user wants to purchase an ordinary and a platinum album then I must add the two variables and the combined price to appear in a label. The normal and platinum prices appear fine when the other is zero but when I increase the quantity on both the label remains blank.I have an if statement like this:

I am creating an ASP.Net page with VB.Net codebehind. I am using a class variable to hold data (named ods see below) from a SQL Server query so I do not have to keep going back out to the server. The class variable gets loaded ok and I populate a grid data with this dataset. However when I need to go back in and reference the dataset again, I get an error and I come to find out my dataset no longer holds the data.

View 12 RepliesI have 7 company Divisions that sit in an access database.I then use this list to populate two comboboxes in my windows form.However I get a syntax error in my SQL Query if the Division name is more than one word.For example in my access database I have two columns one is a status column and the other is a division column. If for example the Division is called 'Corporate' the status column is called 'Status Corporate' and the division column is called 'Corporate'.The SQL query works fine in this scenario.However if I have a Division that is more than one word, lets say 'Operations Division' I get an error in my SQL Query that says -

Form1 has 2 public string variables defined and initialized to "" (an empty string).Form2 has 2 text boxes and a button. When the button is clicked the public variables on Form1 get set to the values in the text boxes.This works fine.I recently had to add a module to my project so that I could use Main as the startup item. Ever since doing that the above no longer works.The variables never get set to the values in the text boxes. They just stay empty.My Main code is simply this for now:

I debated whether or not to ask in the database section, but decided this was probably more of a VB question, than DB.I'm performing a query on my database and add its value to a DGV. At the moment, I'm just running tests to make sure the base example works so I can expand on it for more advanced tests.[code]It doesn't matter how I add the row, just adding it causes the error. And yes, the AllowUsersToAddRows property of the DGV is set to True, which wouldn't cause this problem anyway, but I decided to be extra careful.

When I execute this query, it works fine for the first record but rest of the records show null value when I know there are records present. SQL pros take a look if there is a problem with my syntax.

I've added a COM reference to one of my projects (the DLL resides in C:Program FilesIntwerwovenWorksiteiManage.dll) but when I view the References in my project the path is something like c:usersusernamedocumentsvisual studio 2008project nameobjdebugiManage.dll..I seem unable to edit this path. I can remove the reference and re-add it using the browse button, picking up the correct dll but it keeps showing as the path of the project.The application works on my development machine but as soon as it's deployed to a client machine it complains of the missing DLL. Of course, the DLL is present but the app is looking in the debug folder.

I have been searching for this a lot on internet but couldn't find a solution to this so i decided to ask this question here.
i have this sql code. what i want to do is that create a basic login form where users puts it's username in the UsernameTextbox and Password in the PasswordTextbox. If the the information match then a message box appears saying that the user is valid and if the information does not exist, a mesage box appears saying the users is not valid. now everytime i execute(run) the code, i come up with this error: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression ''UserName' = 'Admin' 'PassWord' = 'testing123''.
The field names(UserName, PassWord) are also correct they are same as in the database. the information put in the username and password textbox are correct and they match the information on the database. But i dont know why this error comes up.
