I am trying to add 2 variables and the result to appear in a label.The case is that there is a platinum version of an album which costs more. The extra cost depends on the album so it varies.If the user wants to purchase an ordinary and a platinum album then I must add the two variables and the combined price to appear in a label. The normal and platinum prices appear fine when the other is zero but when I increase the quantity on both the label remains blank.I have an if statement like this:
If PriceNormal >0 and PricePlatinum = 0 Then
lblPrice.text = PriceNormal.ToString("C")
End If[code]......
I'm gathering strings from a large text document using vb.net (2010 express) and storing them in array variables. The problem that I am seeing is that each variable that is gathered is appearing as text in the title Bar of the form. Is there a way that I can prevent this from occurring?
I need to get some text that I generate to appear on a label on another form. I can get it to appear on the same form, but can't figure out how to transfer forms.
The result is different comparing i calculate it using a calculator or Excel....I tried setting variables type of Integer the result is still wrong....
how to say it. Im going to be making a program for my work, something for our CNC programmers to use for referencing machine code. Basically what i want is to have 2 combo boxes. One of them will have some letters, the other will have some numbers. If the user selects "X" in the one combo box and "54" in the other combo box, i want a label that will output "5221". The output is a given number, it will never change. Everytime that combination of of combo boxes have those things selected it will output "5221". So now my question is what is the best way to do this? My first instinct was a select case. Is this the best way to do it? I was also thinking about possibly using textboxes and having the user manually enter values instead of a combo box with some 60 numbers in it. I marked this as a discussion also, thinking it is more of a discussion than a question.
I need to add the contents (integers) of two textboxes and display the result in a label. I've been trying like this within a button click event: Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click TextBox1.Text + TextBox2.Text = Label.Text End Sub But it doesn't compile, and I dont know why. I've used arithmetic operators before, but now I'm just confused.
i have three text boxes that the user will input numerical data into to determine the area of an object. i need the result of my calculation to be displayed in a label but i cant figure it out.
I am trying to link a date produced from a month calendar to a three column data source . Col 1 is date and cols 2 and 3 hold password records for use on the selected date. I am able to have the selection from the month calendar produce a result into the label text but cannot see how to relate the date in col 1 back to the label. I am beginning in this world,
i need to add the number in textbox 1 to textbox2 and mutiply the result times .10, if the result is grater than or equal to 2000 i need to add 12 other wise i need to add 10 heres my code
Dim total double total = Val(txtbox1.Text) + Val(txtbox2.Text) * 0.10 If total >= 2000 Then
I would like to be able to return the text generated from an httphandler and insert it into my web page during an onload event. There are examples that show how to return an image by setting the image source to the path of the handler. But how do you do this for just text as in the "hello world" basic template. I would like the text value of a label on my page to be set to "hello world", preferably withour using javascript.
how do i read excel file at VB.net & display the result in a label or something..e.g i know cell A2 is a string of text - e.g Hello this is the P/L for the month i want grab that and put in a label etc.
I have a series of labels to modify through a loop. here's an example of the code i need to modify
lbl1.forecolor = color.black
lbl2.forecolor = ...
I need to iterate the lbl number each time through the loop as the color value will change from label to label.Clueless on how to do so with a loop vs the "long" way of doing code for each separate label. I have 169 to modify each time I change input so I'd rather not unless I have to
I'm having a problem with part of my application I'm trying to get the directory entry for a computer object in AD (it could be mutiple computer objects based on whether or not the users passes a wild card for the object name). These names would be added add a child node of the parent node "Computers" in the tree view. I'm just having problems with using the search results...
Private Sub Form2_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim parentCNNode As TreeNode = New TreeNode("cn") TreeView1.Nodes.Add("Computers")
I made a simple textbox with a submit button and a label and when you type in something into the textbox and hit the submit button what ever you typed in the submit button is suppose to show up in the label box but i type in DaFallenAngel in it and it only shows D why is it only showing D and not the full name? [code]
I am saving scores form my game in to a dadt base but the game involves answering questions mid game that pop up in a seperate for so I have two scores a question score and a game score and at game over i want the two scores to add up and be displayed in one labe wich appers on the game form when my count down hits 0 so I tryed to add them
heres is the game code
Public Class frmplay Dim score As Integer Dim total_score As Integer
[Code].....
so I want to add correct answer to score and display it in a label thatwill show on my game form
i had a look at how to set values of variables from nummbers stored in external txt files the variables then needed to be added up so i used trial and error first
((XVAL) + (NEWVAL))
assuming that XVAL was set to 10 and NEWVAL was set to 20 i expected to get the answer of thirty but waqs presented with the new value of 10 20 VB.net pysicaly added the two values together but i wanted the mathematical product of the two which is ((10) + (20)) = 30
Ok so I have an array and wish to add the variables of the array to separate lines of the list box. I came across this which in some ways worked but also didn't. The second thing mentioned on the page was to us:
ListBox1.DataSource = Form2.Title This works the first time you run it but if you try to run it again nothing happens. So using the above or something else how can I get it to update the list box? Another thing I tried was to use the DataSource method but instead to clear the list box first, but that turned up an error
If I'm trying to output to a listbox, what is the easiest way I can enter a string and then a variable on the same line? I'm trying to use listbox1.Items.Add(...). Obviously outputting a string is no problem and outputting a variable is no problem, but I want to add a string and then a variable after the string. For instance:
name = "Joe Smith" listbox1.Items.Add("Name: ", name) [or something like this] [Output] Name: Joe Smith
I'm having issues w/ querying the database w/ user selected dates. Hardcoded everything worked fine but when I started to use the DateTimePicker things stopped working.
Dim sqlcn As New SqlConnection(db.dbcn) Dim cmd As SqlCommand = sqlcn.CreateCommand() cmd.CommandText = "SELECT * FROM TABLE " _ & "WHERE CHK_DT BETWEEN @BeginDt and @EndDt"
I have an xml document on the internet right. Lets say it contains: <tag>goose</tag> What I want to do, is when the user clicks a button in my vb form it looks for the "tag" tag and finds the text inside the tags which is goose. Then it sets a label to equal goose, or whats in those tags.
I have declared 2 variables as Double in my VB Code. Example:[code]Somerwhere down the code, after some internal calculations, the variables A1 and B1 have attained new values. Example:[code]Do I need to do a conversion of some sort in my program codes ??
Form1 has 2 public string variables defined and initialized to "" (an empty string).Form2 has 2 text boxes and a button. When the button is clicked the public variables on Form1 get set to the values in the text boxes.This works fine.I recently had to add a module to my project so that I could use Main as the startup item. Ever since doing that the above no longer works.The variables never get set to the values in the text boxes. They just stay empty.My Main code is simply this for now:
So, how can I set (if it's possible) the localization for these labels? I've this kind of assignment in modules and not in the form. It's possible to set a resources file also for modules?
I know it is possible to add a tooltip to just about every element in Visual Studio, but I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to add screentips to a label? I have 5 images I'd like to trigger when the user hovers their mouse above the element (a label).I have 5 labels: Form, Crown, Trunk, Root Flare, and Roots and 5 pictures. I know there is a MouseHover event but I cant seem to make it trigger the picture I want when it hovers.
I made the labels red so you can see them. I used a picture of a little mug as bullet, aligned top-left. The label text normaly begins at the far left of the label, but with a bit of coding I solved that problem. I did not want to add extra spaces to the text directly for keeping the data base small. The problem however is when the label has 2 or more lines of text the text don't line up nicely with the top line, once again I no not want to save the extra spaces to the data base.
Here is the picture and the code used.
CheckLabel.DataBindings.Add("text", Hoof_GeregteBindingSource, ("Inhoud" & (Inhoud_Label_Counter).ToString)) Dim MyVar As String = CheckLabel.Text MyVar = MyVar.Substring(MyVar.IndexOf("#") + 1) Select Case CheckLabel.Text.Substring(0, 1)
I am attempting to dynamically create a profile page. Everything works fine except when I try to add the title (surrounded by <h2> tags) to the lbl control which is inserted in the select statement. Let me know if this is too confusing and I will attempt to explain further.
