How To Return Result Of HTTPHandler And Set To Text Property Of Label

I would like to be able to return the text generated from an httphandler and insert it into my web page during an onload event. There are examples that show how to return an image by setting the image source to the path of the handler. But how do you do this for just text as in the "hello world" basic template. I would like the text value of a label on my page to be set to "hello world", preferably withour using javascript.

I have sucessfully written in excel VBA. The idea is to used the textbox1_change event to find a match in column A of table and once it finds the record, return the value of column B as label1.text. [code] In VB 2008 it's a lot different. I have set up the form the same way with the textbox and labels. I have made a dataset with (1) table (Table1) with (2) columns. Lets call them column A and Column B.I have added the dataset as a binding source to the form and also a table adapter. I also have a standardized query made for the dataset with a very simple SQL statement "SELECT Column A, Column B from Table1"..In order to get the user input to start searching Column A I assume under the textbox_change event i would put something like: [code] I'm getting a bunch of errors of course. Is it possible to read a label's text property of another app? I know how to get the handle of the main window, and how to get the handle for a child. But the problem is that there's like 20 other labels on the window and when I use winID to get it's class, it's just "Edit", and it's the same for all the labels. And the title is the value of the labels text property. [URL]

I have a TreeView with a bunch of nodes. I have some code that is supposed to modify the label, however it has no effect. When i step through it in the debugger, I see that the the .Text property has the correct value, but it is not reflected in the GUI. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Here's the code:

i would like to be able to double click on a label for a text box and write a value into the .tag property and then change the color surrounding the label.for example.. if the user double click the default label..(which looks like the stardard label) then I would write a "1" to the tag property for that label, and at the same time, change the line color surrounding the label to red(maybe even changing the thinkness of the line).
when the user would double click the label again.. I was see that it was already selected and change the setting back to the default.

Those who are looking for an example like this, might find it useful (or not). I know i was looking for one like this for over a week. Ok now, to make this codes work properly, you have to make a Database in Ms Access (I used MS Access 2007) . Create a table of two Columns, one name Debit and one name Credit. Both of the Columns Data Types must be Long Integers or you might get some conversion errors at run time. Now save the database in Access 2000-2003 Database format. And last of all, put the database in your projects DebugBin directory to avoid the database Connection Errors.

I have a VB.Net program that will basically make a query to a remote MS-SQL DB using TSQL, return two columns (normally 4 rows/records), 1 is a datetime and 1 is a double. I will then need to return the average of the doubles (which is easy in VB.NET).
As I will need to run this query perhaps 1000 times an hour (programmatically with different input parameters for the query), I am looking for the most efficient way to code this up so that it will take the shortest time to run. I tried SQLDataAdapter and then using dataAdapter.Fill and sometimes it returns an empty set although the raw select query has values returned.

I have a stored procedure that repeats a block of T-SQL statements using WHILE logic until it finds a matching record in a table. When I execute the procedure directly from the SQL Management Studio, it works and returns a record, even when the statements within the WHILE logic have to be repeated over and over again before a matching record is found.
However, when I use the same stored procedure as the commandtext property of an sqlcommand object in Visual Studion 2008 (VB) and call the executereader method of the sqlcommand, the resulting SqlDataReader will only return a row if the T-SQL statements within the WHILE logic find a matching record after a single pass. If it takes more than one pass to find a matching record the SqlDataReader does not return a row. It's like it abandons the execution of the stored procedure after the first pass of the statements within the While logic, disregarding the repetition.

Anyone else have an issue using read, It appears when I use read it gives me the correct buys but returns the wrong integer value So I use it and it fills the Array i make with &h10, &h6 but read reutnrs number of bytes returned to 1. if there a better way to go with Vb.net with RS232 I mean really my projet dosent have anything out of the Normal

I am trying to add 2 variables and the result to appear in a label.The case is that there is a platinum version of an album which costs more. The extra cost depends on the album so it varies.If the user wants to purchase an ordinary and a platinum album then I must add the two variables and the combined price to appear in a label. The normal and platinum prices appear fine when the other is zero but when I increase the quantity on both the label remains blank.I have an if statement like this:

how to say it. Im going to be making a program for my work, something for our CNC programmers to use for referencing machine code. Basically what i want is to have 2 combo boxes. One of them will have some letters, the other will have some numbers. If the user selects "X" in the one combo box and "54" in the other combo box, i want a label that will output "5221". The output is a given number, it will never change. Everytime that combination of of combo boxes have those things selected it will output "5221". So now my question is what is the best way to do this? My first instinct was a select case. Is this the best way to do it? I was also thinking about possibly using textboxes and having the user manually enter values instead of a combo box with some 60 numbers in it. I marked this as a discussion also, thinking it is more of a discussion than a question.

I need to add the contents (integers) of two textboxes and display the result in a label. I've been trying like this within a button click event:

I have a table in a data grid the columns are bound to the columns...
SQFT QTY WIDTH LENGTH
i also have added into the datagrid an unbound column called Yeild%.what i'm trying to do is the following formula
SQFT / (QTY * (width * length / 144) and have the result return the answer in the unbound yield column for that row represented as a percentage
So if SQFT = 178 QTY = 2 Width = 144 Length = 102 answer would be 0.87 (rounded)
so this would be 87%

Is there anyway to have a class that can return a default type without specifying the property.
If I had a class that had a few properties and one property returned a string value and others returned additional types, could I do the following?
Dim StudentGrade as new StudentGradeClass
'call and get default property
Dim CurrentGrade as string=StudentGrade
'instead of this
Dim CurrentGrade as string=StudentGrade.Current
The reason I am asking this is when I have classes that have other classes as properties and would like to just get a default return value,.

I have some code I inherited which has a lot of warnings that I would like to get removed. Many are of the form Property '<propertyname>' doesn't return a value on all code paths. I know why it is saying this, I'm just trying to determine what the correct 0 impact way of fixing this is.[code]Unfortuantely if I put this in my code (having changed the local variable name to avoid collisions) it then complains that it is being used before it has been assigned a value.Try to analyze IL in LinqPad (not sure if this is a good test or not) reveals that the empty method is the same as the above that Reflector gave me but it is different from return Nothing and return "".What can I use to get rid of this warning while guaranteeing the code runs 100% the same? [code]I'm not sure what ldloc.0 does here. I'm wondering if it is trying to get something from a register which will be null and if that is therefore the same as ldnull in this situation but I havent' ever really studied IL much before...
