View 1 RepliesI have a class that needs to check for errors in the data contained in a object.The routines that will check for errors could be implemented in concrete interfaces of supertype IErrorCheck. That way error checks can be discrete and added or removed from the class that requests the error checks.Each IErrorCheck implementation would be programmed against the supertype IErrorCheck (Strategy).But it would be nice not to recompile when checks are added or removed.Is there an accepted procedure for abstracting the error checks all the way out of the program, such as to read the checks from a file?

I know you can get magnetic toner and print MICR.
The question is What is the actual font to use or should i get a package and send the data to it to print the check?
Has anybody done it successfully without having to resort to pre-printed checks.
I wrote an application that copies files from Folder(A) into Folder (B) First it checks if the files exists if yes it will copy them and it will over write the them in fodler (B) and is working great , but if I have a file in Folder(B)that is located in a subfolder the file inFolder (A) will not be copied to the new location.
belwo is the code to copy the files if they exist :[code..]
what language would be useful to make a program that looks in a directory and saves the amount of files inside of it as a variable then have it check if the variable does not equal what it was originally when it counted then run a script. since i have a folder that adds a new file to the directory every time something is changed i want a script to run that just runs an exe.

All the refactoring tools for C# and VB.Net that I have seen only consider the source code in a single visual studio solution.For better or worse, our large (many related programs) system is spread over many solution files, however:All the code is below a single windows folder. Our nAnt based build system, builds all files in a windows folder to produce a single dll (bit more complex then this but not important for this question).Therefore ALL ".cs" and ".vb" files below the single root folder are part of the system.
So I am looking for refactoring and reverse engineering tools that take a single folder as input and act on all files below that folder.(The tools may need some help to decide what "public" and "internal" means, however most of the time "internal" means "in the same code tree" when a "code tree" is a folder that contains code and any child folders.)Now I am being greedy, I would like the tools to create a lot of all the refactorings that have been done and to be able to replay the refactorings. Then I could try out ideal and if they work, throw away my code, get the latest code, you do the refactorings and checkin the code before anyone else changes the files. (Likewise for when branches need merging)
I am writing an application for editing pdf files with this library: [URL]. The problem is that I had to format pc because a trojan and since that moment every time I try to continue my project I can't use the library. The code its the same as it was before formatting, but when I compile the code and the application runs I get an exception every time I try to use a library function.
Some info:
I'm using visual studio 2008 .net FW 3.5
vb -net language
I'm using a W7 64bit environment (before formating was W7 32bits, but I tried to use a 32bits OS and the problem remains). I've already registered the 2 COM components (Img2PdfAPI.dll and pdprep32.dll)
regsvr32 "C:Program Files (x86)prepToolspdprep32.dll"
regsvr32 "C:Program Files (x86)prepToolsImg2PdfAPI.dll"
Solved: Was because of the license.
i want to specify a folder and then have all files from "Temporary Internet Files" copied in to the specified location. I have specified both locations, and yet it fails. I think this could be caused by the fac that the "Temporary Internet Files" is located within a hidden file/s How should i go about copying the directory?

View 3 RepliesSo I'm working on an app that needs to create files on the end user's computer to store info in (mainly text files and HTML files), and I'm trying to figure out the best location to write these files to. I've been reading various articles @ this online all afternoon, and the advice I've read so far seems to be "all over the place".From what I understand, if the end user is not logged into Windows as "admin", then there are a limited number of locations where files can be written to their computer, without them having to deal with UAC popups, etc.I would like my end-user's to have to jump through as few hoops as possible (none, preferably ), so should I only write my files to these specific locations? when I write the files to the end-user's computer, I have 2 different types of info that needs to be stored...
Info "A" is temporary data that only needs to be stored/accessed while the end user has my program open (and this data can be safely deleted each time they close my program).Info "B" needs to be stored somewhere where it never gets deleted, so that it can be accessed by my program for as long as the end-user has my program installed on their computer.So would it be best to store info "A" in the Temp folder, and info "B" in the App Data folder?And for any files that I store in the "temp" folder, do these files get automatically deleted when the end-user turns off their computer, or do I have to programatically delete these files every time my program exits?
I'm developing an application which relies on several files to be copied over to a specific location on the users hard drive ("C: est") when they run the program for the first time, and am having a hard time wrapping my head around how to account for the fact that the original location may be in a different location for each user.
Any ideas for either getting the path where the files would be and then copying them to the desired destination?
My program toggles an existing IE add-on between enabled and disabled. At the same time, it creates a shortcut to itself in the Quick Launch folder using one of two icons which reflect whether the next click is a toggle on or toggle off. I store the two icons in the same folder as the targeted executable, and everything works fine, but I would rather have these two files embedded. I know how to embed them. The problem is locating them. At the moment I use:
Dim MyShortcut As IWshRuntimeLibrary.IWshShortcut
MyShortcut = WshShell.CreateShortcut(QuickLaunchVariable & "Toggle.lnk")
MyShortcut.TargetPath = path/executable
MyShortcut.IconLocation = path/iconfile
MyShortcut.IconLocation requires a string and I don't know how to get to the location of an embedded file as a string. There is no MyShortcut.Icon which would allow me to simply refer to the embedded file.
within my project i need to open and save some files. i wont go into detail as theres no need. what i need to do is open the files from the install directory, which could be where ever the user puts it! i also need to be able to open them whilst im building too. if i hard code the directory in then it will fail..obviously

The Select statement should work fine but the path to the file i want to open doesnt. Id love a way to reference the Pnt_GuideLat Cerv directory based on where my program gets installed on the Hard drive.

To programming and have a question with sound files. I am trying to figure out the basics and here is what I did: I created a button that is supposed to play a sound.
My.Computer.Audio.Play("C:.......file.wav")
When I click this button in my .exe file it obviously plays because I am using the computer with the above location for the .wav file. When I use the .exe on another computer it doesn't play because it does not recognize that .wav location. How do I make this work for me? Do I need to embed the .wav with my .exe somehow?
