I am writing an application for editing pdf files with this library: [URL]. The problem is that I had to format pc because a trojan and since that moment every time I try to continue my project I can't use the library. The code its the same as it was before formatting, but when I compile the code and the application runs I get an exception every time I try to use a library function.
Some info:
I'm using visual studio 2008 .net FW 3.5
vb -net language
I'm using a W7 64bit environment (before formating was W7 32bits, but I tried to use a 32bits OS and the problem remains). I've already registered the 2 COM components (Img2PdfAPI.dll and pdprep32.dll)
regsvr32 "C:Program Files (x86)prepToolspdprep32.dll"
regsvr32 "C:Program Files (x86)prepToolsImg2PdfAPI.dll"
I am working on a project that currently uses a .tiff, compares the defined template document to the document in question. We are moving away from the .tiff format for a variety of reasons but mainly because the new files will be coming in the format of PDF. I see two potential solutions to the issue. First convert the PDF to a tiff and use the existing code. Or second, use a PDF library that will compare the template PDF to the PDF that is received. Because the PDF that is received will basically come from an outside source we won't know for sure if it is text based or image based so the library or tool will have to be able to compare both.
hi im a student and i have a project. i already have my transactions in my program and my probs is i dont know how to generate my gantt chart. im using visual studio 2008.
I have a pretty simple question I was hoping someone could help me with, there are two text files - first is C:Test1.txt and the other C:Test2.txt.C:Test1.txt data consists of, the column is separated by a space (" ")
Data Data Data Data Data Data
C:Test2.txt data consists of
Data Data Data
The fields in Test2 Column 1 are the fields in Column 1 Test1, what I'm trying to do is add the matching fields from Test1. So for example:
'decalare the current score and the current HIGH score Dim strScore As String = Me.lblNofT.Text Dim strHighScore As String = My.Resources.EasyHighScore
the problem is I'm trying to access a file that has no file extension. I think you can see why this is so difficult. The specific file I'm trying to edit is the hosts file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts).
My developer has lost access to the source code of a program that I have asked him to develop. However I have the folder containing files such as
[Code]...
How do I go about editing the application or the files, I want to add new functionality to the program but need to be able to view the code.. or even just help on what these files are about.. the developer has gone awol
I have a program that is getting pretty big and it is a pain to find everything through all the functions and classes. I am trying to break it up into other files based on their method. Some of these functions have calls to others in the main class. I changed most my functions from private to public to access this. I had problems calling certain code created windows so importing mainwindow helped that. My last problem is editing the mainwindow ui from one of the module files. I want to make sure im on the right page before i continue breaking it up. My only guess is that anything they updates the ui should be left on the main class.
I have a CSV file which stores all the students info, which looks like this: Name, Username, Password,Surname,Class,Points. I need to be able to change the points of one person in the file. Here is the code i have so far, the problem is that it changes the points for everyone in the file.[code]
I've been searching in google for some time now and i've just found answers like "Resources are embedded in the exe so you can't retrieve the path" and other answers which are complicated and not even explained how to use the code. ~~However my problem is that i have a .txt resource file in my resources and i want to edit the content of the file so i triedIO.File.WriteAllText(My.Resources.MyTextFile, "some string")but that didn't work out since [My.Resources.MyTextFile] retrieves the content/value of the resource so what i want to do is edit the resource file simply, from within my application, not by going to My Project > Resources and from there, edit the file
I have seen application that are written in Java that can interface to CICS regions on the Mainframe(haven't seen the source code). I am looking for an alternative to the Java method in VB or C# that I can use to connect to a z/OS Mainframe 3270 to retrieve records in VSAM files.
When I am editing VB code inside a .aspx file in Visual Studio 2010, my code is automatically indented in a bizarre way. I have searched through the options and can't find anything that fixes this. [I thought unchecking Pretty listing (reformatting) of code in Text Editor -> Basic -> VB Specific would for sure do the trick but it didn't]Example -- here is the beginning of a .aspx page:
<%@ Page EnableSessionState="True" Language="VB" Strict="true" %> <script language="VB" runat="Server"> Dim foo As String
If I go to the end of the "Dim foo" line and hit it will indent. If I fix the indentation, the next line will do the same thing.
All right, here's my issue. I have a resource that is a text file. I'm trying to use a StreamWriter to edit it. I've done it in C# but can't find my example files.
All the refactoring tools for C# and VB.Net that I have seen only consider the source code in a single visual studio solution. For better or worse, our large (many related programs) system is spread over many solution files, however:All the code is below a single windows folder. Our nAnt based build system, builds all files in a windows folder to produce a single dll (bit more complex then this but not important for this question). Therefore ALL ".cs" and ".vb" files below the single root folder are part of the system.
So I am looking for refactoring and reverse engineering tools that take a single folder as input and act on all files below that folder.(The tools may need some help to decide what "public" and "internal" means, however most of the time "internal" means "in the same code tree" when a "code tree" is a folder that contains code and any child folders.)Now I am being greedy, I would like the tools to create a lot of all the refactorings that have been done and to be able to replay the refactorings. Then I could try out ideal and if they work, throw away my code, get the latest code, you do the refactorings and checkin the code before anyone else changes the files. (Likewise for when branches need merging)
I have 202 .html files and at the beginning of each file, I need to add a chunk of php code. I could make this myself, but to be honest, it would take me forever and I might as well just manually edit them lol. All the .html files are in one folder.[code] one other thing that would be VERY cool, is if it could add the files that are not edited to a listbox or an outputted text file.
I need to unzip a list of .Z files which will be kept in a folder using Visual Basic.NET. For example, consider that there is a folder like C:FilesToBeUnzipped. Inside this folder there will some 5 to 6 files with .Z as extension. I need to unzip all these .Z files and save the unzipped files in a folder like C:UnzippedDataFiles.
Is this possible in VB.NET? Is there any free component or class library to achive it?
In word/excel/office programs when you press the file menu item at the bottom a list of files recently used are shown, i would like to do a similar thing but i would like to put files from a certain folder with a certain extension (.xml) into my file menu item so the user can select to view the files.
I think i need something like: For each file (extension .xml) in myFolder If menuItem = Nothing
I'm creating a bookmark library cause my friend requested but I do not know how to make it so that you can add bookmarks while you are inside the program and have them stay there even if you close it.
I have a .NET customer framework that functions much like a Workflow. It uses reflection to get a listing of all of the processes it is capable of from a specific folder, and starts them via reflection with a known start point (all of them have a method called "Process"). Since these files are only called to do the processing and not part of the compile... is there a way for me to be able to drop in a new reference library (DLL) for one of the processes that is being updated without restarting the whole process?[code]...
Say I have a Class Library project with its own .dll.config, and a forms application. I want to confirm that it is impossible to reference the .dll.config file from the .exe.config file and still use My.Settings.
For example: I have SomeClassLibrary project, with SomeSetting that I can access through My.Settings.SomeSetting. I also have SomeFormsApp project. This is what I want my SomeFormsApp.exe.config to look like:
From my readings, this seems impossible. I either need to copy the content of SomeClassLibrary.dll.config into SomeFormsApp.exe.config, which is tedious and error prone when copying from multiple class libraries, or I need to use ConfigurationManager, which bypasses My.Settings and its typed, Intellisensed goodness.
I'm attempting to create a little library to encrypt and decrypt Files with AES. There are loads of examples of how to do this on the internet so coding is not a problem. There are however a few questions regarding cryptography and AES in general.
#1 Does the IV need to be kept a secret like the key ? #2 Can I just hash a string with SHA512 to make a key for AES ? or do I need to use PasswordDeriveBytes ? #3 In the case of me using PasswordDeriveBytes Do I need to keep the salt a secret ?(or do I need to keep it at all) #4 Can I generate the IV from the same password that the Key is derived from ?(if so How ?)
My program I wrote is using Outlook 12.0 lib for Outlook 2007. I have referenced this in the project. This exe will only be installed on computers that has Outlook 2007 on it. So with this being the case, do I need to bother including any of the lib files? Or just my exe?I have this in my form:
So I assume the Interop is all part of the object lib? I know this sounds crazy but I tried coding it using late-binding with many examples but just had too many problems. So I'm going to make three different exe's for versions 2003, 2007 and 2010.
I am trying to create a sort of code library in visual basic where the form displays a list box of certain project files in vb that i have made in the past and when clicked, launches the .exe files of those visual basic program project files.I know it does not work the same way as writing/ reading text files to vb and it seems as simple as 'on click, launch .exe of selected string "vb program 1" and so on. I am having trouble getting started on this one. Im sorry I cannot provide any starter code bc I only have a basic understanding of in/out text files which wont work the same way with .exe
I made a Class Library project that contains the main classes that my Main Project needs because I don't want to main classes when I distribute my project. I've successfully called and used it in my Main Project. But when I started debugging and stepping through my code which involves calling and using the class I wrote in my Class Library, I noticed that the class' file in my Class Library opens up during debug mode.
how can I prevent the Class Library's files from being opened during my Main Project's debug mode?
I have a Visual Basic Class Library project. It generates a DLL. Is there a method to generate a static .LIB to which I can do a static link?Alternatively, can I do a static link against a DLL?
I would like to be able to parse vb.net code files, so I can examine the collection of Subs, Functions (and their contents, including comments), private variables, etc. I can be open the actual source code files. So for example, if I have:
