Editing The Mainwindow Ui From One Of The Module Files
Feb 2, 2011
I have a program that is getting pretty big and it is a pain to find everything through all the functions and classes. I am trying to break it up into other files based on their method. Some of these functions have calls to others in the main class. I changed most my functions from private to public to access this. I had problems calling certain code created windows so importing mainwindow helped that. My last problem is editing the mainwindow ui from one of the module files. I want to make sure im on the right page before i continue breaking it up. My only guess is that anything they updates the ui should be left on the main class.

How can I edit my a form through a module? I am using this code in the module.
Here is where I get an error: Private Sub ExtendedWebBrowser_NewWindowExtended(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As WebBrowserNewWindowExtendedEventArgs) Handles Me.NewWindowExtended Button1.Text = "New window event just triggered!"End Sub
The code editor will not recognize when I type Form1, and I obtain the following error when I manually type it:form1' is not declared.I sense there is something I can do here which is very easy to fix this, but I have not worked much with Classes before.

I know this is doable in C++, but I have no idea if it would be doable in VB.NET/C#. This is the C++
DWORD ModuleHandle = ( DWORD ) GetModuleHandle("Module1.dll");
int AddressToEdit = ModuleHandle + 0x12345;
BYTE Buffer[1] = {0x00};
WriteProcessMemory(GetCurrentProcess(), (void*)(DWORD)(AddressToEdit ),&Buffer,1,0);
Is it possible to edit the memory of a Processes' module?

The fields in Test2 Column 1 are the fields in Column 1 Test1, what I'm trying to do is add the matching fields from Test1. So for example:

I've been searching in google for some time now and i've just found answers like "Resources are embedded in the exe so you can't retrieve the path" and other answers which are complicated and not even explained how to use the code. ~~However my problem is that i have a .txt resource file in my resources and i want to edit the content of the file so i triedIO.File.WriteAllText(My.Resources.MyTextFile, "some string")but that didn't work out since [My.Resources.MyTextFile] retrieves the content/value of the resource so what i want to do is edit the resource file simply, from within my application, not by going to My Project > Resources and from there, edit the file

When I am editing VB code inside a .aspx file in Visual Studio 2010, my code is automatically indented in a bizarre way. I have searched through the options and can't find anything that fixes this. [I thought unchecking Pretty listing (reformatting) of code in Text Editor -> Basic -> VB Specific would for sure do the trick but it didn't]Example -- here is the beginning of a .aspx page:
<%@ Page EnableSessionState="True" Language="VB" Strict="true" %>
<script language="VB" runat="Server">
Dim foo As String
If I go to the end of the "Dim foo" line and hit it will indent. If I fix the indentation, the next line will do the same thing.

I am writing an application for editing pdf files with this library: [URL]. The problem is that I had to format pc because a trojan and since that moment every time I try to continue my project I can't use the library. The code its the same as it was before formatting, but when I compile the code and the application runs I get an exception every time I try to use a library function.
Some info:
I'm using visual studio 2008 .net FW 3.5
vb -net language
I'm using a W7 64bit environment (before formating was W7 32bits, but I tried to use a 32bits OS and the problem remains). I've already registered the 2 COM components (Img2PdfAPI.dll and pdprep32.dll)
regsvr32 "C:Program Files (x86)prepToolspdprep32.dll"
regsvr32 "C:Program Files (x86)prepToolsImg2PdfAPI.dll"
Solved: Was because of the license.

I have 202 .html files and at the beginning of each file, I need to add a chunk of php code. I could make this myself, but to be honest, it would take me forever and I might as well just manually edit them lol. All the .html files are in one folder.[code] one other thing that would be VERY cool, is if it could add the files that are not edited to a listbox or an outputted text file.

I am new to WPF and the MVVM design pattern this month, and more than a little out of practice in general. To learn, I've been playing around with textboxes, rectangles, and ways to display them in a window. I began with Ashley Davis' excellent "Simple Drag Selection in WPF" tutorial, which walks through creating a view model for a collection of rectangles, binding a listbox to said collection, and styling the listbox with a canvas, creating a data template for the rectangles, as well as basic "rubber band" selection logic.
I have since built on this tutorial to improve the drag selection so that it behaves much more like selection does in windows explorer, and to allow resizing the rectangles from the corners or edges.All was well until I changed the MainWindow.xaml in an effort to include a column on the side for various buttons and controls, thus moving the "editor surface" grid from inside a 1x1 grid on the main window to a column of a 1x2 grid, moving the data template to the grid's resources (since it will be the only element in the window that needs it). As soon as I did this, subroutines that I wrote which interact with the listbox started misbehaving--rubber band selection no longer works. There's no visual indication that listbox items are being selected (they were highlighted previously), and interrogating listBox.SelectedItems.Count after a drag-selection mouseUp event returns a zero.
After some experimentation, reading many questions on this site and sections of my WPF Unleashed book, and going over the msdn databinding overview, as of this morning I still cannot find my mistake(s). I believe it is a data binding mistake or incorrect data context.Some details about the view models involved:
DataFieldViewModel
...implements INotifyPropertyChanged and exposes properties for its (in this case a rectangle and a textbox) X,Y position, width, height, visibility, and selection status (a way to track it across several rubber band selection operations)
PageViewModel
...implements INotifyPropertyChanged, and has among other things an ObservableCollection of type DataFieldViewModel, called DataFields, and exposes it as a ReadOnly Property.Here's a look at MainWindow.xaml.vb and one of the broken subs:
Namespace EditorUI
'
' The main window of the editor.

i am working on the MSDN tutorials through virtual labs and am encountering a problem with the very first tutorial regarding consoles. I am required to create two notepad files: Module HelloWorld & Public Class Person which I have done without errors having triple checked them. When the files are created I compile the HelloWorld.vb file and a .exe is created
I follow the rest of the steps and encounter an error when i try to compile the Person.vb file using the line vbc Person.vb/t:library/out:HelloWorldLib.dll as i am getting the following errors:
vbc : Command line error BC2001 : file 'HelloWorld.vb/t:library/out:HelloWorldLib.dll' could not be found

I'm just familiarising myself to edit registry in VB. I am having a problem with changing a value in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key. When ever I change a value at runtime it always assumes that I am going in the "Wow6432Node" key, even though I don't put that in the parenthesis. Example:

I'm working on a piece of code at the moment that uses an older style DataGrid to allow the user to enter information into the table. It already has an add and delete button. Currently the user enters information into 3 textboxes that are in the footer, and the other rows use labels to display the information.
Essentially what I am wanting to do is take the line that the user has clicked the edit button on, and move the text from there in to the footer (deleteing the row that it was displayed on) so the user can make changes and then click the add button again. At the moment I have tried using FindControls to find the textbox and setting the text that way but it doesnt like it.
