Admin assigns the authority and get a new form to the new assign in with vb.net & access. I am not sure about this,I need a way to do the new form assigned? How?Actually, this project is the admin will assign the authority to a manager, and the manager will get the password to log in. Then, the manager once log in and will get a form to set the rooms who is going to use and date, etc, this is multi-manager to handle the room setting jobs.But, I think, I got stuck, I am not sure how to do the new form, HOW DO YOU ASSIGN THIS NEW FORM FOR EACH NEW MANAGER?????? Im starting to learn how to use the chart control in VB .how you create a "new" column because atm all the time i add series it puts them side by side.Ive looked at the documentation for the control and the examples but they dont seem to cover this , or i could find it .Now how would i assign each series to a new point?So item 1 would go above column 1 and item 2 above column 2 etc.The code i have at the moment is a test code .

Depending on a key value in my database I want to display one of two images in my resource folder. Basically if my database value contains M I want to show image M in my picture control. Also when I save I need to check which image is loaded to write back either M or T.
View 9 RepliesI need to create a shared folder on the desktop for a specific user on a specific pc and assign full control sharing and security permissions for only tat user and a domain admin user. I need to do this for 300+ PCs. Going to each user manually and askin them if i can do tat on their pcs is very time consuming.
Is there a way i can code this and do this remotely where i can input,
1)the computer name/IP Address
2) the folder name i want to create
3) the user for which i have to create it for (just basically goin to doc and settin.>user name> desktop )
and i can achieve the folder creation for tat user with full control to that user and a domain admin user for sharing and security
I'm looking to put a few labels on a form but the text that they will display will not be static. Instead they should be dynamic as the values used will be either the value of a specific Environment variable or from a value stored in an array. These values will change depending on which user runs the application. How do I achieve this?
View 2 RepliesI have an problem to assign a startup form in vb.net. I have three forms:
1) Registration Form
2) Login Form
3) Main Form
Firstly i have set set startup form as registration in properties =>Application after registration completed or saved i am displaying the Login form by hiding the registration form. and entering username and password it displays the Main form. Now the twist when i exit from application next time i started to run my project where i can check if their is entry in registration form it will directly goto login form.
I looked at another thread to see how to assign the ESC key to clear my form, but it does nothing.

View 3 RepliesI've got a class where I pass in a panel reference and in that panel I'm then required to draw multiple other panels that represent my objects. The issue is that when I go to bind dynamically click events to these panels I don't have reference to the Form of which I want to popup on the click event.
The reason for this structure is so that I can redraw my class dynamically and reattach certain events to each object.
Is there any way to do this without moving my classes logic outside of the Assembly or is there any way to attach my click event to a piece of code logic to a sub in my WinForm?

Im using a dataset to display data in a datagrid from a sql server DB. One of the colums I have in my datagrid is "Status" the table adapter sql statment selects certain items based on whether there open or closed e.g "where = Open ". I want to remove this row entirely and instead of displaying open or closed for status column, display the open/ closed results in colour on the datagrid. Im really not sure how to go about this whether i need to do it in the table adapter or some sort of property. I presume i need to write a sql statement and selct the identity of the row where x= open etc , is there a way of assigning a colour in sql statement so it displays on my vb form ?

The following code works perfectly to allow moving a control on a form at run-time. However, when AutoScroll is set to True on Form1, and you drag Button1 past the right and/or bottom bounds of the form, it goes haywire. I really need someway to smoothing control the autoscroll so that as you scroll the control off the form, the scrollbars smoothly appear.

I am still messing around with Cntrl/Copy and Paste from a menustrip. Paste is working fine. The copy is working to a certain extent. It will copy the complete text field from one control to another. how do I determine what is the selected text only. My code below:

View 12 RepliesI've got a Panel on a main Form containing a PictureBox control on Top of a TableLayout control. Both the child controls have their docking properties set to Top. The Picture control has sizemode set to Zoom.
What I'm finding is that the picture doesn't size properly when I start the app. There is a border at the top and bottom in the PictureBox control. It's only when I resize the overall form that it's correct.
So at the moment I've got this ugly bit of startup code, just to fix the problem Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Normal Me.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized
What am I missing?

View 2 RepliesI have a user control which contains some textboxes,buttons ,labels and comboboxes . I used that control in a form and inside a split contaier.Splitter can be moved by the user. User control is docked as fill.
Now when user move the splitter the user control size is changes as it is dock fill but the inner controls used in that user control looks like fixed in a single place .It are not moving nor resizing .How to do this .Is there any property to perform thisI already know about anchor property but sometimes it causes overlapping of controls so I can not use it.

I have a basic Windows form with one Crystal Reports form veiwer control on it. When ran on the development machine it displays the report fine.After build and publish the application is now installed on a user PC. I am getting an error that the Crystal Decisions. Windows. Form version 12.0.2000.0 can not be found. All the Crystal dll's are in the install directory but none of them are being installed in the install machines GAC.Am I setting my publish output up wrong, may references wrong, or is the local GAC files the problem. The message is so criptic, it doesnt really point me in the right direction.
