VS 2010 Referencing Bible Verses Individually

Jan 9, 2011

I have a copy of the Bible in txt format which I need to have altered. I wish to put the book name, the chapter number and a colon at the beginning of each verse, just before the verse number. The book name and chapter number can be obtained from the beginning of each chapter and each verse within each chapter is already numbered and on a separate line in the file.

Unable To Access AppSettings From App.Config In A Class Library Project

Mar 1, 2012

I am trying to access appSettings using the following syntax and I have used it before in my many website projects but not in a class library project. In this class library project I cannot even access the AppSettings Keys. Is there any way I could access the AppSettings Key from my class? Is the class library project's app.config or project structure behave in a different way?

C# - Project To Project Reference Specific Version In Same Solution

Jun 7, 2012

I'm developing application that is plugable. The plugins are loaded via Assembly.LoadFrom(). In my solution I have 4 projects. A WPF, 2 DLL and another DLL that is a plugin for the app. The plugin project references one of the other DLLs. When I build the Solution and run I was getting an error trying to use the plugin dll because it was expecting an older version of the referenced project. I had to clean and rebuild the plugin project to get it to run correctly.

My customer is running it from his location, he is also using Excel 2003, the moment he wants to upload the data he gets the bug.

VBA: Cannot Find Project Or Library

Oct 4, 2005

I am having a problem running an Excel/VBA program that has been working till this morning. The error I got when I ran a macro I wrote is: Compile error: Cannot find project or libraryWhen I check the references in VBA editor, I find the list of references to be different than when I ran it on another machine. I have some xla libraries on a server that I've linked to the application, and the libraries are being shared among my colleagues. I tried relinking the libraries but that didn't work either. Sometimes, I get another message saying the library is being used by another application.

IDE :: Assembly Version, File Version And Publish Version In ClickOnce In VS 2008

Mar 31, 2009

How they relate and differ from each? What are the best practices for version control? Is there a primer about publish online? Or a good book?

And is it possible to make ClickOnce and a msi in one solution of VS 2008? If so, is there any conflict or pitfall?

BTW I am using VB if that makes any difference.

Deployment Results In Earlier Version Of Project?

Jan 11, 2010

I am using VB.NET 2008 Express Edition and INNO Setup. When I create a setup and run it, the resulting install is an older version of my project from, I think, 2 or 3 days ago. If I go back to my project in the developer window and run the project, it is clearly a newer version than the install. Since this installed version that comes up was done I have added a form and made many other changes. Is it because the build didn't exeucte? When you run the project doesn't it execute a build every time?I tried this again from a backup. (The backup is much more recent than the version I'm getting.) And it still does the same thing. Why does the install not match the project? It is not possible to go into the project and add the changes because they are already there.

IDE :: Select Framework Version For New Project / Website?

Jan 21, 2012

confirm the forum for this question about Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I found a VWD Express forum, but it was in Spanish... Lo Siento. My issue is selecting a down-level, 3.5, framework version as I create a new project/website. I have figured out how to CHANGE the target framework version once the website/project is created. I have the 3.5x installed on the system and available. The articles I have seen discussing this issue, refer to a framework version selection drop list in the new project creation dialog/wizard. I do not have that option.

VS 2008 Windows Installer Project Version Req?

Apr 5, 2009

I've decided to go with a Windows Installer (Setup Project) in VS Prof, rather than ClickOnce,I've added this project to my main project, and have right clicked and selected 'View -> Launch Conditions', it requires the .netframework 3.5.21022...

But I've created the installer project for .NET 2.0 framework, is this going to stop someone from installing the project without .NET framework 3/3.5?EDIT: I've found under the properties of that installer project, that .NET framework 3.5 and Windows Installer 3.1 was selected as a prerequisite, unchecked those, and checked .NET Framework 2.0, however the version under the launch condition .NET Framework is still 3.5, it should be 2.0

VS 2010 Forms In Class Library Project?

Jun 17, 2011

I was wondering is it possible to put forms into a class library project and if so could I use those forms as an mdi child from my main forms app?A bit behind what I am trying to do:I am creating a game which is essentially going to have its own 'operating system' As the user progresses in the game they can 'install' new software into their operating system.I have my 'Desktop' that is an MDI Parent and what I want the users to be able to do it when they have purchased a new bit of software (also in game) the game will connect to my central server download a dll and place it in a directory, that is essentially installing the new bit of software and the game will then pick up that dll and add a new button the Programs list and when the user clicks on that software in the Programs list it will launch the form in the Class Library as an MDI Child of the 'desktop

VS 2010 How To Add A Project Reference To A Class Library

Feb 23, 2012

I've created a class library and it's shared by several projects I'm working on.

I added a reference to the DLL - but it appears to have copied it locally - and that's causing problems when I modify the class library. Seems I have to drop the reference and re-add it.

I'm seeing info on the web about adding a PROJECT REFERENCE but can't seem to get that to work.

What is the best method of sharing a class library with several other projects.

Actually - should all my projects be in one SOLUTION? Is that preferred.

It will be 5 projects all working with the same class library...

Change Connection String In Class Library Project?

Jun 30, 2011

In my earlier project I was able to change the connection string during the app settings loaded event and it was successfully. When I try to do the same for a code library project, I am not getting the system.configuration.connectionstringsettings to work. Could you please tell if there is a work around for this, or else it is always better to write the sql code instead of depending on the adapters etc.

Additional information: Clients App is WPF with Vb. Database is SQL Server 2008 Code Lib would only be on server, slq connectiona and data retrieving and saving actions are stored in classes in code lib only. Code Lib would be used with WCF, wcf is used to share the classes only and classes have the data. WCF is hosted as a windows service on server used by NET.TCP

It complains of missing objects which are in the library which are correctly added in the imports. Also I see a yellow yield sign next to the reference library also when I add the reference it complains of the framework version difference. Any help is apritiated. Also I'm using VS10. Imported the projects with no errors. A colleague has this working on VS9.
