I have few functions assigned in TextBox1_TextChanged event. The problem i am facing is this event is fired twice, once after the Fill command and another after the Position command whereas i want the event to fire only once after the Position command. What should i do?
part of my code is in below

I would expect to see the path.Path include the new record, however, I also notice that tempnextgen also include the new record. Can anyone help me out on this issue? Why the tempnextgen got updated as well, how to prevent this unexpected operation?
I have a datatable that contains the rows of a database table. This table has a primary key formed by 2 columns.
The components are assigned this way: datatable -> bindingsource -> datagridview. What I want is to search a specific row (based on the primary key) to select it on the grid. I cant use the bindingsource.Find method because you only can use one column.
I have access to the datatable, so I do manually search on the datatable, but how can I get bindingsource row position based on the datatable row?
I would like to make data binding using BindingSource whereby whenever either Next Button or Previous Button is click the BindingSource position will change to display the data at that position.
I know that if I want use a loop of the BindingSource I could do somthing like vb code below but I am not sure if of binding it seperately. I usually bind it through the properties but this I cant because is an image column which I want to bind and I have to us memorystream to display it to reduce memory usage, so I asign it to arrPic so that whenever the BindingSource position changes the image column will be asign to arrPic.
Dim MyRow as DataRowView
For Each MyRow In dtView
'only use non-repeating names
CurrentPicture = Trim(CStr((MyRow("FileName"))))
If CurrentPicture <> LastName Then
[Code]...
The BindingSource filter the picturenames and add to a listbox. One name may contain about 4 or more pictures so when you select a name from the listbox the bindingsource populate only the pictures have the selected name and you can navigate forward and backwards.All what I want is how to bind a column to a textbox or picturebox by code. I know if it is a dataset I can declare a datarow and bind anything to the columns.
I datagridview and I populate it using a bindingsource. I have the following code in the bindingsources PositionChanged event and it works as I want it to except when I filter the bindingsource.
Private Sub ProductBindingSource_PositionChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ProductBindingSource.PositionChanged
If (Me.ProductBindingSource.Current IsNot Nothing) Then
Dim dr As DataRow = CType(Me.ProductBindingSource.Current, DataRowView).Row
Dim ProductId As Long = CLng(dr.Item(2).ToString)
Dim ResultId As Integer = CInt(dr.Item(0).ToString)
GetReport2(ProductId, ResultId)
End If
End Sub
The scenario is when I click on a row in my datagridview the bindingsources positionchanged event fires and I load a crystal report. Problem is when I filter the bindingsource, even though the first item in the grid is now different the incorrect report is displayed because the bindingsources position hasn't changed.
I want to get the current row in a BindingSource. I had a working method, but then i turned on sorting in the binding and then the method get's the wrong row everytime.

I have the following:
a table of addresses and a bindingsource for the table
a enum list of address type: 0 = "Mailing", 1 = "Physical", 2 = "Shipping" etc...
I would like to bind the datasource of the combobox to the enum so it displays "Mailing", "Physical" etc. Then I would like to change the bindingsource position of the address table based on the user selection of the combobox.
Here is what I have so far:
cbxAddressName.DataSource = New BindingSource(ApplicationEnums.GetEnumList(GetType(ApplicationEnums.CompanyAddressType)), Nothing)
[Code].....
im dr As DataRow = CType(Me.ProductBindingSource.Current, DataRowView).Rowbut I get the error saying:
View 15 RepliesIn winform's textbox, how to get the current key-in position?
For example -
textbox.text = 3056.98
If I type '7' after '0', current key-in position is 3.
In vb.net, which textbox event or keyword could I get this position value?
I am trying to develop a HANGMAN game and i need to implement a button where the user can click on it to "buy" letters. So, i designated 2 text boxes (one visible containing stars and another one not visible containing the word that should be guessed), and i wrote the following piece of code so that once the user presses the button any of the stars will turn to the correct letter. My question is, i found the index of "*" and removed it, and now i want to insert the corresponding char with this index (WordInLetters). How can i find what char is at index "index" in vb.net?
Private Sub picBuyLetters_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles picBuyLetters.Click
Dim index As Integer = txtWordinStars.Text.IndexOf("*")

How do I get the current write-position using the BinaryWriter. I need to store the position in order to read from that position afterwards. (I know it would give the position where the next write would start, that will be taken care of).

oook so this when button7 clicked it will move my mouse to the X:700 and Y:700, but will start from the X:0 and Y:0 but i tried making start from my current mouse position but idk how not working:
i have a for loop "for each val in values" I want to within this loop some how check positions ahead of the current position for a condition. I am unsure how i can do this however apart from having an inner for loop to loop from the current position. If that is the case I am not sure how i can get the current position.I have attempted this with this code below, the inner for loop.
If creditPoints = "10" Then
Dim valcount As Integer = Val.Count
For intLoopIndex = valcount To Values.Cou

How would I get the current mouse position?
View 2 RepliesImagine that I have a timer checking the current position, and always checking if it is equal to the duration of the sound.
View 13 Replieshow can i get the current position of the cursor in real time inside a picturebox?
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to create a hook to monitor the current position of the mouse cursor. Nothing important, I just need to count some pixels during interface design and wanted to learn how to create a hook, so I decided to go for a hard way instead of a sane way.
I've found example code which declares the following function:
<DllImport("User32.dll", CharSet:=CharSet.Auto, _
CallingConvention:=CallingConvention.StdCall)> _
Public Overloads Shared Function SetWindowsHookEx _
[Code].....
But Appdomain.GetCurrentThreadID generates the warning: "'Public Shared Function GetCurrentThreadId() As Integer' is obsolete: 'AppDomain.GetCurrentThreadId has been deprecated because it does not provide a stable Id when managed threads are running on fibers (aka lightweight threads). To get a stable identifier for a managed thread, use the ManagedThreadId property on Thread."
I've tried using ManagedThreadID, but that doesn't work. The thread ID returned seems to be the logical thread ID of the thread, as it runs in the .net runtime, rather than the Win32 thread identifier.
Calling the function ith AppDomain.GetCurrentThreadID works, but I really would like to have a "stable identifier" for my thread.
Can someone explain to me whether it is possible to use ManagedThreadID in this context (I assume not) and, if not, the things I need to avoid in order to stop the AppDomain.CurrentThreadID from becoming "unstable"?
Well, How can I click the mouse at it's current position in Visual Basic .NET 2010?
View 9 RepliesI'm using VB 2010 Express with two instance of AxWindowsMediaPlayer in order to sync two videos (the videos are of the same thing but from two camera angles). Because the videos were started at slightly different times I've manually set the start time of each one using the following
AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.Ctlcontrols.currentPosition = 314.5093196
AxWindowsMediaPlayer2.Ctlcontrols.currentPosition = 237.1639908
The problem I'm having is that whilst the WMP clock initially displays the above times in each AxWindowsMediaPlayer, when I play the videos each starts a few seconds out from the stated currentPositions.
The video files are around 300MB each and when testing with smaller video files the problem does not seem to happen. I'm guessing the large file size is causing some delay and hence causing the problem.
On one of my forms i have a datagridview binded to an Access database. It displays only first and last names of my customers in a datagridview.What i want to do now is, when i double-click on one of the customers another form will open and display details for this customer (detailed view - textboxes).
What i have accomplished so far is that when i double-click on a customer in datagridview a form opens with details (linked to the same binding source as datagridview). But the problem is that it always opens the first record even if i dobule-click second or third in datagridview.I don't know how to bind these textboxes with current datagridview position?
Without using TopIndex, EnsureVisible, etc., is there a way to simply save the current scroll position of a listivew as a point, then reset the scroll position to that point after reolading the listview?
View 3 RepliesI would like to know the best, or standard, way to accomplish real-time client updates in a small multi-user application using an access data table as a data source.Specifically, this application will be used by 3-4 people. It uses a datatable which is filled on form load and bound to a datagrid at design time. The datatable is stored on a shared drive. The data table on the shared drive is updated in two ways:
1) Users can update the datagrid which then updates the datatable on the shared drive via the data adapter's Update method.
2) A server application does some work on some text files, periodically updating the data table.
I need the clients to reflect the changes to the data table on the shared drive as closely to real-time as possible. I know that the data table stored in memory on the client is disconnected from the data table on the shared drive, so I must query again to get the updates.
1) Is there an alternvative model I can use which is connected, and which will automatically reflect the updates in the data table on the shared drive?
2) If not, what is the best way to check for changes in the data table (so I can know when to call the data adapter fill method)? I am planning to poll the drive for a change to the .mdb file, raise an event and then fill the data adapter when the event is triggered. I am using this method successfully now to check for changes to a text file in another application, and I know how to implement it?

Now I have the need to get a current value from a bindingsource in a property of a user control.In a previous thread I had tracked down the "Object variable or With block variable not set" to the return in the Get block of a property. At the time I was only using the Set so I just commented out the offending code until I needed it.
[Code]...
The error does not occur during a system compile, only upon saving the container object of the user control. As I said the Set works correctly, only the Get causes the error.I would like to know what I am missing/misunderstanding and am open to other suggestions of handling retrieving the current value of a bindingsource in a user control.
I got a problem in showing report. The system flows like below -Systems insert records in CSV file into a table,A in ms access database by batch.Systems update in another table, B, based on these inserted records.
View 1 RepliesWhat I have managed to do is currently display a chart with 3 bars on it linked to textboxes what have numerical values in them when the form is loaded. i.e TextBox1 has an initial value set in it's properties of 10, TextBox2 has a value of 20, TextBox3 has a value of 30.
When I run the program the graph displays these values correctly.
I have also got a button, Button1 which when pressed will plot the chart again, (so if I manually change the values in the TextBoxes after the form has loaded), it will display the new values via the bars.
The problem I have is that if if once the initial values have been plotted when the form loads, i.e. 10, 20 & 30, the Y axis of the chart has a maximum value of 35, so that all the initial values for the bars are shown. But if I change the values to say 15, 30, 80. and then press Button1 to update that bars to thier new values, the bars change but the one that show's 80 can not been seen fully as it goes off the chart, as the Y axis still only shows a maximum value of 35!
Does anyone know how to get the chart to resize to be able to display all the bar values within the chart each time the values are changed and the Button1 is pressed, whether it be reducing the graph for smaller values or enlarging the chart for higher values?
I am not 100% sure I am going about it in the correct way as I have not got any experience in using charts and am having to stuble about the net trying to find basic example code of how to setup and use a chart
My code so far is:
Imports System.Windows.Forms.DataVisualization.Charting
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

I have a project where I have data in the my.settings part of the project. When I compile the project and run it on an XP machine, a Vista machine, and a Windows 7 beta machine, the data is not getting updated. In fact I can't even find the .config file that should be created when my application runs.
