I wish to move the mouse to a given pixel position (x, y) and cause a click. I don't want this to be limited within a form, as I want to control another application. I'm using VB 2005.

Apr 21, 2009I'm trying to create a hook to monitor the current position of the mouse cursor. Nothing important, I just need to count some pixels during interface design and wanted to learn how to create a hook, so I decided to go for a hard way instead of a sane way.
I've found example code which declares the following function:

But Appdomain.GetCurrentThreadID generates the warning: "'Public Shared Function GetCurrentThreadId() As Integer' is obsolete: 'AppDomain.GetCurrentThreadId has been deprecated because it does not provide a stable Id when managed threads are running on fibers (aka lightweight threads). To get a stable identifier for a managed thread, use the ManagedThreadId property on Thread."
I've tried using ManagedThreadID, but that doesn't work. The thread ID returned seems to be the logical thread ID of the thread, as it runs in the .net runtime, rather than the Win32 thread identifier.
Calling the function ith AppDomain.GetCurrentThreadID works, but I really would like to have a "stable identifier" for my thread.
Can someone explain to me whether it is possible to use ManagedThreadID in this context (I assume not) and, if not, the things I need to avoid in order to stop the AppDomain.CurrentThreadID from becoming "unstable"?

Dec 1, 2011I m making a chart using MS Charts. Now the chart has mark points from where i want to get the coordinates if user clicks on the mark points.
I want interactivity in the chart such that on clicking on the mark points i can retrive the cordinates (x-axis and y-axis) for the mark points.
For example for the graph:-
on clicking on the orange dots or blue dots i want to get the cordinates for that point,

Jun 5, 2012I'm working on an application of which counts how many keystrokes/clicks. I'm just wondering how I would go about logging such actions. The application will be running in the background within the taskbar and when you click on anything on your computer/type anything or press any key I want it to pick up the event and log and add up, so if i click 10 times it will add 10 onto the total clicks and vicer versa on typing.

I can not set it = false in the mouse click event, because I need set it = true, so the pic will change size.basically, what I need is: after mouse click event finished, change SizeToFit = false.One way to do it is in mouse click event, start a timer, after several seconds, set SizeToFit = false. Or, use a thread. It will work. But, is there a more elegant way to do this?

This is what I'm looking for however, paired with the ability to simulate the click while not being on that form. I believe this would require the coordinates to be relative to the form itself also. I'm not sure if this is all possible in Visual Basic, however I've seen it utilized in Actionscript and Java.
VS 2010 Windows API For Detecting A Mouse Click Anywhere Or On A Specific Program
Jan 4, 2011I need to create a program that can run code each time the user clicks, I can't use windows forums since its on another program. If the code can detect global mouse clicks(system wide) or only on one program it's fine.
I've done some digging and it looks like windows API can solve my problem but i really suck at using windows API and it looks like SetWindowsHookEx() can solve my problem but i don't know how to use it correctly. This is the code from Pinvoke that I modified to hopefully work for a mouse click. i'm having trouble getting this to work.

Jan 3, 2012I am trying to code for is as follows: Construct a two dimensional array and enter into it a sales id number followed by twelve variables which represent sales totals made by the sales agent. this must provide space for five agents. I can declare the proper array and have done so as follows
Dim Sales (4,12) As Double. I also crafted a click event which will count from 1-12 (which excludes the sales id number) and disables the sales id number so it cannot get used. [Code]
What I am trying to do is setup a function within the same click event procedure which stores the current SalesAmount as a variable in the array and moves to the next slot to get ready to store the next SalesAmount. However I have no idea where to go from here. I have tried a ton of different pieces of code which are either all littered with errors or do not return a value when I call it. Calling the total of each row and the total for all rows is something I need to do for display and I am not one hundred percent sure I know how to do that either.
