View 2 RepliesI created so many listviews in my project, that im too lazy to add to each listview a resize event with percentages. Is there any other trick, who just scales the columns so as they are?
View 3 RepliesI'm starting work updating an UI for one of my company's applications and I'm running into a sticky issue. The parent control contains several panels, each of which can be turned on or off depending on user input.
The final panel in the user control contains another user control which gets resizes according to a toggle switch. Essentially, it "opens" up more information.
While the child control (ChildControl) is docked to Fill inside the parent control (ParentControl), when I add height to ChildControl I can't get ParentControl's height to get updated as well. Currently I'm handling the ChildControl.Layout event in ParentControl but I can't seem to reach that code. To resize ChildControl, I'm calling Me.Height += 200 in ChildControl.vb.
I am confused what will happen, when I disable a timer. Will it finish the process and then disable or will it immediately disable without completing process? for example

I want to run getMessage from somewhere else, so I need to disable timer during that time to be asured not to override anything and also before timer disable it should complete that function code.
to disable right click and to disable the start button and task bar?
View 4 RepliesI have a bunch of PDFs that I'm just trying to open, resize the page, and then save. I'm also hoping that the file sizes will shrink significantly doing so. I am using iTextSharp and the resizing works just fine, but the file size is nearly identical, ever so slightly larger in fact. Here's the function I have now:

View 1 RepliesI have a form.. that opens like a dialog box. On this form is a tablelayoutpanel, i have my picturebox in row 0 spaning 3 columns. What I would like to be able to do.. as the user resizes the form, make row 0 in the lay grow. I am thinking that will cause my picture box to grow a bit too and the user can get a better look at the image.
View 3 RepliesI have an issue where a ComboBox control will change it's Text value when it is resized. Here is some sample code that I worked up:
Option Explicit On
Option Strict On

Private Sub FMain_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
uxComboBox.DropDownStyle = ComboBoxStyle.DropDown

I would like for a user to upload an image to a file in my web application. However, before being saved I want to resize the image to a specified size. I have found code on the Internet to do what I want but I am having trouble adapting to meet my needs. Here is the part I am having trouble with:
' Resize Image Before Uploading to DataBase
Dim imageToBeResized As System.Drawing.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromStream(FileUpload1.PostedFile.InputStream)
[Code]....
Rather than upload to a database I want to save the image to a folder in my web application. The problem I have encountered is that VB won't let me save a byte() to a folder. Not sure what I can safely change to adapt for my purposes. Why does it need to be changed to a byte() in the first place?
i need the code in vb.net for auto-resize of forms. for example i execute my project in a 14" monitor, the size of the form would be the same as the size of my monitor. now what i want to happen is if i execute my project on my other PC that has different resolution, the form would have the same size of it.

View 1 RepliesI have a timer program. Initially, the font for the time is the correct size, and when I click "start", the time is the right size too(I had set the initial size to 26 in the properties menu). When I click "break", once the time is up, it displays "Break Over!!" to fit the label(because I changed the font size). Then when I click "start" again, the font has shrunken, even though I set it back to the original size of 26. Why is the font size for the timer not back to it's original size when I click "start" after I have clicked "break"?[code]...

View 3 RepliesI use vb.net 2008 to create a desktop application.I have a form that is resized according to the size/location of the app bar (where the start button is)I have a toolbar at the top, a status bar at the bottom of the form and a grid in the middle of the form I want the size of the grid to be the maximum possible on my form.if and when the user resize his application bar (or move it from the bottom to one of the sides) my form size should change according to the new working area size:
H = My.Computer.Screen.WorkingArea.Height
W = My.Computer.Screen.WorkingArea.Width
is there a single event that I can use ? currently I called my resize function in several form events: Activated, ClientSizeChanged, Load,Paint,LocationChanged,RegionChanged.And still it is not working correctly! Resize the app bar size or move it form does not change !
If I minimize it and then display it again or click it - it changes size
I have an app that displays images (using picturebox component). what I am trying to do now is to try to allow the user to resize the image how he wants it (scale). for this i think I need to create an instanece (bmp) clone of the selected image in the picturebox and draw it ontop of the original picture; then specifi new set of size points.I was trying to use the code below:
Graphics.FromImage(PictureBox1.Image).BeginContainer('i do not know what to do here')
I need to specifi the new size of the graphics container but I do not seem to have any clue on how to do it.
In my code I have used myexcelsheet.range("MYrange").Resize(2,10) but it is not working

Working with winforms I wonder if there is some way to prevent vertically resize of the form. I would like to allow user to resize form in all directions except vertically.Moreover I would like to allow vertically resize in upward direction, but not downward.
I have tried to use maximumsize by setting it to: Me.maximumsize = new size(0,me.height)
I set width to 0 because I want to allow user to change form width.
i would like to resize a form, programatically.. i know how to do it manually with a bunch of code depending on the resizing.. here's a sample:

View 6 RepliesAlright, I need some way to generate a printable report from a text file. I'm thinking that the easiest way to do this is to create a form which will layout the information and then reading from the text file into the controls of the form. Then taking a screen shot of the form itself, and storing it into a bitmap and printing it.[code]...
