View 1 RepliesI'd like to make a simple VB utility to resize images using vb.net. I am having trouble figuring out what vb class to use to actually manipulate the images. The Image class and the Bitmap class don't work.
View 2 RepliesI need to loop through a very large collection of images and resize them all to 400x600 pixels. Is this possible?
View 5 RepliesI'm using a web cam that takes 320 X 240 pictures. This sort of gives the picture a "landscape" look to them, and I need to re-size the pictures to a 169 X 225 "portrait" picture. Its for a badge program. Anyway, when I re-size the pictures, they get all scrunched up because of the difference in aspect ratio. Is there a way to re-size the image and the aspect ratio at the same time? Would this be considered cropping or resizing? I'm a little confused on where to begin. I mainly use VB, but if someone has a good example in C#, ill take the time to convert it.

View 8 RepliesI'm using VS 2010 and MySQL 5.5. I've got a data grid view displaying the results of queries entered by the user, shown below. It works; the trouble is that if there's an image in the results, you'll only see a cell-sized very long thin strip of it.
So I want to a) resize any images to a reasonable thumbnail height (say, 100 pixels, naturally maintaining aspect ratio) when displaying them, and b) resize the row to fit them.[code]...
I have a Form1 where i can add usercontrols during runtime. I draw their appereance in the OnPaint event using the GDI+ engine. The greate part is that i want to be able to resize these images during runtime wich goes pretty well now cause i draw points in percentage of the control. Unfortunetly it is very difficult to draw nice images/drawings ect with the GDI+ engine. Is there any other way in doing this?

I simply want to have a list of all graphics saved in specified folder displayed as miniatures - this suppose to be a sort of an image browser - it does not have to be done using ListView, so I'm open to any suggestions.
The image can be anything. It can be jpg, png, anything.
Load it.
Crop it. Say removing first 100 pixels from the left.
Save to the same file
I was told to use bitblt to crop my image. But i am new to vb and am really confused as to how to do it. I am making a board game. The player chooses its colour of player (a pawn),this image is then placed on the board. I want just the pawn to show and not the box around it.

View 3 RepliesI'm starting work updating an UI for one of my company's applications and I'm running into a sticky issue. The parent control contains several panels, each of which can be turned on or off depending on user input.
The final panel in the user control contains another user control which gets resizes according to a toggle switch. Essentially, it "opens" up more information.
While the child control (ChildControl) is docked to Fill inside the parent control (ParentControl), when I add height to ChildControl I can't get ParentControl's height to get updated as well. Currently I'm handling the ChildControl.Layout event in ParentControl but I can't seem to reach that code. To resize ChildControl, I'm calling Me.Height += 200 in ChildControl.vb.

So I'm trying to take a screen capture of the windows form and display only a certain specified area of that screen capture in a picturebox on a different form. Kind of like this. First, take the screen capture of the form: Then get a specified area of that form through x,y coordinates or something and display it on a picturebox on a separate form.
The idea is to scan a folder of images and then let the user navigate back and forth through the images using a couple of buttons. The problem is, I can only get it to return a single image, and not the whole lot. It's looks to me as though the images are getting assigned to the same index in the array. [code]

View 3 RepliesThe app i am working on is for creating theme for the iPod touch... It has to deal with LOTS of images (100's potentially) There will be the set of default images, and then the user created replacement images. I started loading all the defaults into a resx file... thinking then I could just pull them out. now that I started setting the default, this sucks! lol the app will do this, on load it will set all the images (variables) to the resx images then when a theme is loaded, it will replace the default with the user image (if the user img exists) otherwise, the default stays. Then the "screen" is drawn to show the user. so, here is just the images to build the wallpaper, dock, and status bar...

I was thinking to make an app to save images [or download images] to local hard disk. But to keep it easy, I want this app to create a small picturebox on form to show the thumbnail of downloaded image. Lets say a 5 pictureboxes has to be added with the thumbnails to show the recent downloads. A user can save the location where he wants to save the files on hard disk. A listbox or a dropdown menu will help in categorizing the images, like image1 in friends section, image2 in family section, image3 in others, etc... When the program restarts all the latest 5 thumbnails has to be loaded in pictureboxes and the directory that was chosen. Finally, a button that shows the downloaded images into original image file size one by one or a slide show. Is it possible to make such program?
