Crop Form Screenshot - Screen Capture Of Twindows Form And Display Only A Certain Specified Area

Aug 2, 2010

Public Class Form1

Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Form2.PictureBox1.Load(bm2)

[CODE]...

So I'm trying to take a screen capture of the windows form and display only a certain specified area of that screen capture in a picturebox on a different form. Kind of like this. First, take the screen capture of the form: Then get a specified area of that form through x,y coordinates or something and display it on a picturebox on a separate form.

Take Screenshot Of Screen BEHIND Form?

Apr 4, 2010

I know how to take a screenshot, but how can I take a screenshot of the screen behind my form without hiding the form, taking the screenshot, then showing the form again?The reason I can't simply hide the form to capture the screen behind it is that I need to take the screenshot repeatedly, and hiding the form each time I need to take the screenshot would cause the form to flicker.

Here is the code I'm using now:

Me.Opacity = 0 ' Hides the form. Can't use this!
Dim bounds As Rectangle = Me.Bounds
Dim screenshot As New Bitmap(bounds.Width, bounds.Height, Imaging.PixelFormat.Format32bppArgb)
Dim g As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(screenshot)

Form Display With Splash Screen

Dec 7, 2009

I'm writing a small app which I want to display a splash screen. The problem is my form 1 is appearing before the splash screen disappears. In fact is appears on startup blocking the splash screen. I have some code in form_load and have managed to figure out which line is causing the error, but I cant figure out why or how to prevent it.

The line reads
LoadSettings()

If I comment out this line everything runs fine and there's nothing in that sub that should affect form1. I'm doing this in vb express 2010.

Here's the code for my form_load:
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
LoadSettings() ' this line is causing the problem
My.Application.MinimumSplashScreenDisplayTime = intSSDelay * 1000
'resolution check

Adjusting Form Size According To Screen Display

Nov 25, 2010

I've a form set to size 1240:750. On my PC where I've VB2010 installed, the screen size is set to 1680:1024 and the form can be viewed fine but on a PC with screen size set to 1280:1024 (higher than the form) the form in question is cropped almost a third of it. To adjust the form to everyone screen size I set the below code at load with no avail.

'Autosize form to screen
Me.Height = (SystemInformation.PrimaryMonitorSize.Height) * (0.9)
Me.Width = (SystemInformation.PrimaryMonitorSize.Width) '* (0.9)
Me.MaximumSize = New System.Drawing.Size(Me.Width, Me.Height)
Me.MinimumSize = New System.Drawing.Size(1240, 750)

Display The Splash Screen Before Going To The Main Form?

Hello.. I'm using a splash screen for the first time in an exercise. I have it set up to display the splash screen before going to the main form. I made changes to the splash screen title and copyright information. When I execute the program, the splash screen comes up but it's not displaying the information I changed. When I view the splash screen the changes are saved. It displays the project name where the application name should be.

Set The Viewable Area To A Smaller Screen Area?

Jun 11, 2012

Trying to set the viewable area to a smaller screen area and have it cycle through as the person moves using collision detection to move the backgroudn image. Here is the start but its off to a bad start so far.

Public Class Form1
Dim Mapx As Integer = 600
Dim Mapy As Integer = 2000

[code]....

Basically the forum size is set to 600x2000 but the client should only allow you to view 600x600. I want it to add +1 once you "collide with a invisable box I'll add and this will redraw the screen.

C# - Capture Screenshot Including Semitransparent Windows In .NET?

I would like a relatively hack-free way to do this? For example, the following takes a screenshot that doesn't include the semi-transparent window:[code]....

Either my google-fu really sucks or this is not as easy as it sounds. I'm pretty sure why this is happening because of the way the video driver would have to separate the memory to make this work, but I don't care why it doesn't work, I just want to do it without...

* print-screen key hacks

* 3rd party software

* SDK functions are OK but I'll upvote every object owned by the user that can show me it in pure framework (Just kidding but it would be nice).If This is the only way to do it, how to I do that in VB?

Screenshot Still Captures Invisible Form?

May 22, 2009

I'm working on a project, and one thing it's supposed to do is make itself (the form) invisible, take a screenshot of the current screen, and the make itself visible again.[code]I made the 'FinishScreenshot function to call the 'TakeScreenShot' function, courtesy of AdamSpeight2008 and save that result as a specified image file in a specified location. the problem is, the screenshot ends up usually showing the form that was supposed to be invisible, but sometimes not (usually on the first form). I'm guessing this is because the FinishScreenshot and Take ScreenShot functions aren't finished working until after the form becomes visible again, but I'm not sure.

Forms :: Capture Active Window / View And Save Screenshot

Aug 22, 2009

I'm working on a UNO (Msn-based) online gaming tool - you know the card game. It's the second version with more features for UNO fans. I would like to get the screenshot function to work.

It's just as simple as this: The UNO main window
The screenshot viewer shows the screenshot of the active window (which appears by clicking on "Screenshot"): (This form is named as "Screenshot", the Picture Box "myPictureBox")

My question is, which code do I need to bind these functions. I think the pictures are describing this good enough. (The "save screenshot"-button is ToolStripButton1, the button for making screenshot is ToolStripButton10).

Form Height Limit, Make The Form Larger Than The Screen And Allow For Scrolling Down?

Nov 17, 2011

I have read that VB .NET in earlier versions limited the FORM size to that of the development machine screen resolution.I am hoping that there is a way in the current VB 2010 to get around that.However in my attempts to make the form larger, it always resets itself to the screen height on my develoment machine.Is there a way to get around this and have the person be able to use a scroll bar to move down?The data I wish to show actually has two screens worth of information but the stuff in the scroll down section would be used on a limitied basis so scrolling will be useful rather than having to recreat the screen to show less data at one time.

'abort' (terminate Immediately) A Form Screen In A Windows Form Application Running Under 'local' Environment?

Make A Screen Recorder (not Screen Capture) Program

Aug 20, 2010

I wanted to make a screen recorder (not screen capture) program, but I am not entirely sure how to get it started. I have seen many videos and things on how to make one, but all of these just take multiple pictures and then don't compile them into a movie file, and I don't want to take many pictures (unless that is the only way possible.) I am using Visual Basic 2010 Express and I have looked at the Windows Media Encoder, but I can't seem to figure out how to use/implement it (yes, I have downloaded and installed it.) Maybe I can use some kind of ActiveX control?
